Great location with access to walk at one end of short street and springs and cafe/restaurants at other end. Lovely cottage in back garden. Good sized room with all amenities. Friendly helpful hosts. Highly recommend.

Location was excellent. Short drive to Thermal Pools and Restaurants. Hosts were exceptional! Rayon and Rhys were warmly welcoming. They loaned us towels to use at the pools and even brought us slippers. They were informative about the area and recommended a near by hike which we loved! The Rooms were very clean and tastefully decorated. The beds were comfortable with quality pillows. The bedding was cozy. The Breakfast. AMAZING!! We were able to fill out A breakfast choices card the night before and chose our time for breakfast. We were greated right on time and welcomed into the dining room. We were treated to fresh bakery bread, berries, blueberry muffins, choice of cereals, and homemade "raspberry plus friends" jam. While enjoying this, Ray and Rhys tended to preparing our hot breakfast choices. This was cooked to order eggs, bacon, sausage, herbs, mushrooms, country potatoes, hash browns,.. and these were just our choices! The hosts want you to have a good experience and go out of their way. We left some things behind and they were on the spot to get then back to us so we could continue on with our journey. We will definitely return if we find ourselves in the Hanmer area.

Riverview Lodge is one of the best places we stayed during our New Zealand trip. Excellent/ friendly host, clean rooms, comfy bed, great breakfast, an incredible view and a short drive to the Hanmer Springs township. We'd highly recommend that you consider staying here.

Jan was delightful and very accommodating with late check out request. Cute little touches like a dessert pastry, lots of tea bag options and milk in the fridge. Bed was very comfy and the garden was BEAUTIFUL. Views of snow capped mountains from our room once the clouds cleared up. Would definitely stay again.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We got a couples massage, which was amazing, and also took a morning yoga class. Breakfast was delicious. The retreat is very quiet and relaxing. Just what we needed to wrap up an amazing three week vacation in NZ. Thanks!
