Surrounded by rich Atlantic Forest, Aratinga Inn features rooms with a balcony or patio. It is 1640 feet from Abraão Beach and Ilha Grande village center. With colonial-style arched windows and pleasant garden views, the air-conditioned rooms provide an LCD TV, mini-bar, fan and DVD player. Aratinga is a haven of peace and tranquillity surrounded by the Atlantic forest of Ilha Grande. The atmosphere is cozy and homely and everything has been prepared for you with love, care and great attention to detail. We have just 9 rooms, 4 deluxe chalets, 1 standard chalet, 2 deluxe rooms 2 standard rooms, one of which has two single beds. Reservations for the chalets are made through our website. The chalets, nestled in the lush tropical garden, offer a superior level of comfort and are the perfect choice for your honeymoon or that special ʻromantic getawayʼ. There is an airy and comfortable lounge room, where you will find a 50" Smart TV with Netflix and YouTube and an excellent library of over 600 DVDs. There are also books, magazines and table games such as chess, dominos, backgammon and cards. The lounge is a great place to meet fellow guests and make new friends. Our delicious breakfast and afternoon teas are served in the Garden Pavilion where you will see colourful hummingbirds flying about. Here, you are the most important person. Our dedicated, caring and discreet attention will ensure your stay is perfect. Our maxim is: ‘The place of happy people.’
Hi, my name is Rennie and I am the owner of Aratinga. I was born in England but went to Australia with my family when I was still a baby, so I think of myself as Australian. I first came to Ilha Grande in 2003, and, just like everybody, my plan was to stay for a few days to explore this amazing Island. The question is often asked of me now, "Was it love at first sight?" and the answer is definitely YES! I came back in 2004 and stayed for four wonderful months and did the same in 2005. One morning I woke up and just knew that I could not leave. I decided then and there that I would move from one side of the planet to the other and begin a totally new life in this tropical paradise! With my Permanent Visa secured, I came back to Ilha Grande in 2007 to begin my project of creating Aratinga. The next three years was all demolition and construction and lots of hard work! Wow, did I learn a lot!! Now, Aratinga is my home and a sanctuary of peace in harmony with nature. I hope you will make it your home-away-from-home on Ilha Grande. I would love you to come and stay with us and I would really enjoy to hear about your life, your work and your travel adventures.
10 Great Reasons to Visit Ilha Grande. 1. Walk along the beautiful beach of Abraao. Whichever way you look, the views are just breathtaking. 2. Follow the jungle trail to the s-p-e-c-t-a-c-u-l-a-r Lopes Mendes surf beach, recognised as one of the 10 most beautiful beaches in the World! 3. Take a full day boat trip to the Green Lagoon and Blue Lagoon, with several other stops along the way. Swim and snorkel with colourful fish and turtles. 4.
