Canela and Gramado are a lot of fun!
Canela and Gramado are a lot of fun! they are located in a high plateau (Serra Gaucha) at 800/900 meters above sea level. A strange mix of Bavarian and Italian immigration processed by a lot of Brazilian immagination. In between a a Bavarian town with scattered pieces of Dysneyland surrounded by waterfalls and araucarias. zillions of restaurants on offer.

Nice town. Parque do Caracol is an expensive place. The teleferico trip is worth it, though the "nature" trail experience was short and negatively impacted by the sound of workers using leaf blowers to blow dead araucaria branches off the grounds. They would have been better off using rakes instead.

We love how quiet, clean and relaxing Canela can be- it’s wonderful for all types of travelers. While the high season has too many tourists and high prices for our taste, the off season is spectacular. I only wish the hotels and pousadas offered more mainstream fidelity points system- we would come here more if they did.EmilyBrazil
