With a dome reminiscent of Brunelleschi’s "The Duomo" in Florence, the Hungarian parliament building is undoubtedly the icon of Budapest. It sits majestically by the Danube, the river that both divides and unifies the 2 parts of this capital city: Buda and Pest.
Overseeing Budapest from its vantage point on Castle Hill is Buda Castle. Spectacularly lit at night, it has the best views across this attractive city steeped in World Heritage. Some unique points of interest are Heroes Square and the Museum of Terror, reminders of the city’s more turbulent past.
Much like in Vienna further up the Danube, coffee and cake is practically an institution in Budapest. And there’s nowhere better to try them than Gerbeaud - the elaborate décor alone makes this café well worth a visit.
To really feel like a local, make a trip to the thermal baths. The relaxed Gellért Baths are a triumph of Art Nouveau grandeur and, based on their sheer size, you can't miss the outdoor Széchenyi Baths. If unusual nightlife is your thing, the club nights at these baths are great fun.
With an impressive range of Budapest hotels, apartments and hostels available in this city of 2 halves, Booking.com makes it an easy choice.
Budapest is an amazing city. We walked for miles admiring architecture, exploring cafes and restaurants. Food was great. The streets and clean and safe and our experience was wonderful. We samples lots of local dishes, the food is hardy in nature, goulash was so good. Found some great coffee and deserts too. Took the boat ride on the Danube to see the city from the water.

Budapest is an excellent city.
Budapest is an excellent city. The historical texture and architecture were very good. There are so many places to visit in the city that our feet were blistered and every part of us ached from wandering around trying to see every place. We even had to take painkillers but it was worth it. We learned a lot of new information about Hungarian history and culture. Only the city was a little expensive.

Absolutely stunning city, most areas very clean.
Absolutely stunning city, most areas very clean. The castle hill and parliament areas both well with a visit. There’s a lovely bakery cafe just of the parliament building main square, large choice of delicious looking cakes and pastries and seemed good value for money. Lots of the main sights are fairly close together so if you plan well can manage to get a lot done in a few days. Still some areas we didn’t get to see. Some of the attractions are quite expensive if you want to see inside such as Mathias church and parliament buildings. However, the buildings outside are stunning and you can spend a lot of time in both these areas without having to go inside. If you get a chance to go to one of the classical concerts in Mathis church it’s worth it for the experience but buy the tickets at the booth in front of the church on the day as much cheaper than buying online. Budapest is fairly easy to get around, in the main we walked from place to place. We also used the hop on bus and occasionally the tram and metro as we had pre purchased a transport pass. The castle funicular was a quick way of accessing Castle Hill but you can also get there by bus or even a secret lift that takes you in to the National library.

Picturesque good value city with excellent public transport.
Picturesque good value city with excellent public transport.
Accommodation easy to find and good value, but of mixed quality.
Transfer from airport cheap and easy using airport bus. No need for a taxi.
Worth travelling further afield to places such as Lake Balaton.
Must be one of the best value capital cities for food, drink and accommodation. Many great buildings and sights. Well worth visiting for a short city break or for longer.
I’ve visited Budapest many times and stayed at different hotels and hostels, but Hillside apartments has been the best accommodation I stayed in Budapest so far. Everything is super clean (the bathroom, the bed linen, towels etc.), the neighbourhood is really quiet, and we also had a balcony to enjoy our morning coffee. Bus stop is nearby, you can reach the city centre in 30 min. I totally recommend this peace for the excellent quality-price ratio! The host is also very kind and considerate (thank you Balazs!)
The hotel is genuinely a palace, the restaurant being a former ballroom for the palace. Everything that we saw was to a very high standard. The position of the hotel is perfect for seeing Budapest being literally a few yards from the Parliament building. The staff were very enthusiastic and helpful. It is very near to a local Metro (underground) station which is brilliant for exploring either the Buda or the Pest side. The bedroom was surprisingly quiet for a city centre location. Highly recommended!
A nice hotel in the Gozsdu Court passage in the city centre. There was a spring festival during our stay in the Gozsdu Court. One could buy different handcraft, records, handmade jewelry, magnets, etc. In the passage, there are several cafes/bars and night clubs.
Our two-floor apartment was clean and spacious. Beds were comfortable, kitchen fully equipped.
The stuff was super nice and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. We liked our weekend in Budapest.
Parking in Budapest might be a bit tricky and expensive, and so I choose this hotel because I was looking for a place where I can safely leave my car over the night and still easily reach the city centre.
The hotel has a surprisingly big parking lot behind the building, which was great. And the underground was in 5min walk, so the location was also perfect for us. The staff was really kind, and the room was very quiet and cozy, good value for money.
I travelled with my bestie to Budapest and stayed 3 nights here. The apartment was spotless and Saza was a great host who gave us a wine gift upon our arrival. We arrived in budapest around 7am and got the room earlier before the check in time without any additional charges. The location was perfect as it is walking distance to the main tourist spots and city centre. You will never go wrong with this nice homey place. Thank you so much!
A four-star hotel, in the center of Budapest and near one of the city's central train stations and close to one of the city's main arteries. Very kind staff at the reception, cleaning staff attentive to our needs, generous rooms and a superlative breakfast. Everything fully reflects the description on the website and I had no disappointment when I got there. A good choice for all those who want to visit Budapest!
Was my first time in Budapest, the best place to stay is Matild. They arranged for me flowers and chocolate for my lovely wife, and they added a huge hearth balloon and Champagne. Best Valentine ever. The staff always motivated to help or bring you information. Don't think twice because Staff and hotels like this, it's hard to find. I sleep on the top floor with an amazing view.
very modern newly refurbished city hotel part of a chain, short walk to Budapests excellent & cheap public transport, the water front, shops and restaurants and the food hall. Clean modern bath room, fantastic breakfast included. The perfect choice for a first visit to Budapest. Helpful staff, and free coffee, water snacks in reception. Nespresso machine and water in room.
Great location in a lively street in the center of Budapest, few steps from the great market and few meters from the metro station and the river. MEININGER became one of my favorite chains in Europe. Staff were nice. We had early check in for extra 15 euros which worked great for us. Hotel was huge and the room was very clean and comfortable. Good Wifi.
Breakfast was grand! The room new and up to date wonderfull shower! the SPA is fantastic, thermal baths weer devine!! outdoor pool sun tarras great! quiet in the rooms very well isolated! Situated on the island in the city centre! Sziget island is the central park of Budapest! If you go to budapest stay at this hotel! you'll be amazed
This is a very unassuming hotel when you look from outside but it’s exquisite inside. Beautiful decorated and the spa is an oasis in the city center. The sky garden restaurant serves the best food in Budapest in my opinion and the drinks .. make sure you try the chili mango. Rooms were big, and staff was very friendly.
Great location for exploring the Buda castle hill of Budapest which is quieter and more quaint. Lots of restaurants nearby. Breakfast was very good. The hotel is more reasonable than others in the area, but there is no view. There is an outdoor courtyard in the center which we did not use because of rain.
Perfect hotel very close to the main city centre for reasonable price! The staff is helpful and everything is as it should be. Rooms are cleaned daily and everything is clean and perfect. Totally recommend if you are visiting Budapest. The Netflix is only a big + for evenings.
Hy my name is Igor, and I am from Poland. I spent a few day in Budapest and I have just realized, I loved it. It is a beutiful city, and The Silver Hotel is the best choice to stay in the city centre. The price is convenient and the Hotel is comfortable. What more can I say?
Great Hotel. I am a big Hilton fan and wherever I go, I live in Hilton if possible. I was in both Hilton in Prague, and in 3 different Hilton in Vienna, and today in Hilton of Budapest, and this is the best managed Hilton above all of them. Highly recommended!
Everything was perfect! Great communication, clean and tidy place to highest level and amazing service..The best place to live in all of budapest. Very Close to station, bus and city centre
The hotel is located in a perfect position to vist the city centre of Budapest and it's near a parking garage.
The rooms are modern and comfortable and the staff is very kind!
