Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel
Pueblo de Machu Picchu, 084 Machu Picchu, Peru – Excellent location – show map
First off, this location is deep in the jungles of Peru. The location is rustic and charming. It's pricey because everything around Machu Pichu is expensive because of the distance required to bring supplies. The rooms are sparse (no kettle for instance) and basic so don't expect fancy (bathroom has dark lighting). The staff is helpful and nice. We got two rooms close together as we were a family of 4. The location is amazing - near the train station and Machu Picchu. That being said you are in the middle of the jungle so it a great property. We got up early and joined a birdwatching tour which was complimentary of the hotel. The birdwatching guide was AMAZING!! We dragged our kids out of bed at 6:30am to go!
In Aguas Calientes, Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel is a colonial-style property that features massage sessions and an Andean sauna. The spacious rooms feature tile floors and sitting areas. Buffet breakfast and dinner are included in the rates. Decorated with Andean tapestries, rooms at Inkaterra feature beds with cotton sheets, alpaca blankets and canopies. Some rooms have Wi-Fi, fireplaces, marble sinks and private pools. There is a restaurant that serves Andean cuisine overlooking the Vilcanota River. Guests at Inkaterra Machu Picchu can enjoy guided walks around the area, reading a book from the lounge library by the fireplace or browsing in the gift shop. Cusco City is 4 hours away by train.
Couples in particular like the location – they rated it 9.6 for a two-person trip.
