Staff were amazing - they surprised us sparkling & cake for my husband’s birthday and when they found out I was pregnant they offered to make me special very cooked eggs for breakfast.

It is so central but so quiet because it is located in a small side street. The friendliness of the staff is really beyond of what I have experienced before (and I travel a lot). The rooms are small but very stylish and you have everything you need in there - the cleaning service is also top notch. What a great hotel experience!

We enjoyed our stay at Casa Leone very much. The breakfast is lovely, including among other things fresh fruits and fresh orange juice. It will be stored in the fridge of your room on request and include a little lunch pack should you leave for excursions before breakfast-time. Olga at the reception is absolutely wonderful, suggesting interesting mid-way stops for your excursions or whole excursions alltogether, recommending restaurants and simply making you feel at home. After she leaves in the early afternoon, the owner is on site until late in the evening. Difficult matters are best adressed with Olga due to her proficiency in English. The hotel provides beach towels on request.
The room is spacious and the view of the harbour is beautiful. The bathroom and the private balcony were quite small but sufficient for us and there is a bigger balcony at your disposal in the lobby.

Chania is a little beach town with just enough activity to have a city like buzz without all the hustle and bustle.
It's a great place to anchor yourself if you want to go explore the beaches on the other side of the island, without having to stay in smaller towns/villages.
Chania has a great mix of local restuarants, with some international flare and something for everyone- food, drinks, entertainment.
The old town itself is huge and there are so many little alleys and spots to explore that we couldn't finish this time.
The harbour boasts alot of activity and you'd be surprised to find a good mix of locals and tourists.
A MUST DO if you're in Crete!

The historic old town is magical.
The historic old town is magical. It also caters very well for people who love Greek food. The Venetian area is quaint and very attractive. Unfortunately the graffiti spoils most of the Turkish area.
Altogether it is a wonderful place to visit…I do so as often as possible.

Chania town is an architectural delight with it's predominantly Venetian architecture. Lovely selection of bars, restaurants and shops. We do wish they would ban the horse drawn carriages. We know people need to make a living but not at the expense of horses being subjected all day to the blazing heat of the sun. We were able to see all that the Old town of Chania had to offer on foot without the need to add to animal suffering! As with most Greek Islands we have visited, the coastline is very beautiful however it is spoilt with rubbish accumulated everywhere. No attempt seems to be made to clean up, both to the detriment of the wildlife and aesthetically. Surely enough is made from tourism to plow some money back into looking after such a beautiful island. Shame on the authorities for not doing more.

The old town and harbour area are both beautiful and very interesting. There are lots of tiny streets with unusual different shops, museums and plenty of Minoan relics, all easy to see. Also some excellent tavernas and coffee shops.

I was in Chania for 4 days and it wasn’t enough for me.
I was in Chania for 4 days and it wasn’t enough for me. I’d recommend At least 5. The medieval town is breathtaking, you can walk through time travel on cobblestone streets that narrow and get a half liter of wine for 5 euros each and have dinner made my locals family for 5 euro. I ate a gourmet dinner on the boardwalk with a carafe of wine dinner for 2 only 65 euros and it was the most amazing food I have ate in my life. I highly recommend.
The people! The people! The people!
The staff went above and beyond to make sure I enjoyed every corner of Crete with their personal experience as natives to Crete. My biggest joy was sharing my experience with Manos to a place or restaurant he recommended. When I come back and tell him how great it was, his excitement seemed as if my happiness was his reward. I’m not really planning on going back to Crete, I’m planning on going back to see Manos, Maroof, Catarina and Miss Kitty and her adorable cat. Ifcalistu Amphitrie Hotel!
Casa Delfino is a magnificent hotel is beautifully-restored Venetian building. The manager, Margarita, and her entire staff were wondefully welcoming and helpful in every aspect of our stay. They had great recommendations for things to do and places to eat in Chania and all around Crete. Breakfast in the hotel courtyard was delightful and the rooms we had were each absolutely beautiful. We even needed a bit of medical attention during our staff and Margarita arranged a quick visit with a fantastic doctor.
We loved our comfortable room, beautiful view and awesome AC. The three sisters who run the hotel with their father make it feel like home! They helped us plan our day excursions, ordered Dominos to our room when we were too tired to move after hiking the Samaria Gorge, and even offered a laundry service for free. It was a lovely 20 minute walk into the old town along the coast, but there were also plenty of amazing seafood restaurants right outside the door. One of our favorite stays in Greece!
The location is amazing, is literally in the old town, where everything happens. 5 minutes walk to the bus station so it’s easy to move in the island.
The room was very clean and very cute, and everybody was taking photos of the building; it was adapted to the culture and architecture of the town.
The staff was very very nice, explained us different activities to do, how to move around Crete, provided us with a map, and solved all our doubts.
Definitely would recommend it.
This was my favorite hotel that we stayed at in Crete. it is a small hotel, which makes it feel even more special. There is a cafe/bar on the main floor. Our room had a balcony overlooking the bustling city and harbor with enough room to sit outside. We also had access to go up to the roof deck. The staff and owner were all lovely. The breakfast was delicious and even had some vegan! We got a discount at the bar as well and the drinks were excellent.
Don’t think I’ve ever stayed in such a good 4 star hotel. v traveller friendly in terms of commodities and comfort. Great location if travelling by car, but also for access to old town.
We had a lovely, spotlessly clean room with face cloths ( a rarity in 4 & even 5 star hotels). Breakfast was delicious with fresh orange juice. Staff delightful. In all, one of those rare 4 star experiences. Currently in 5 star in Heraklion which is not a patch on Samaria.
The best experience in Crete. The room was very comfortable. The location is perfect, right in the middle of old town, very close to all the attractions and few minutes away from the free public parking. Nassos, the host, made the stay even better. From his warm welcome to his everyday greetings and always providing helpful tips on where to go in town. Even his home made bread was delicious. Don't hesitate to book this place. It's really worth it!
The apartment was beautiful, just in front the sea with an incredible view. The are is so nice, full of restaurants and 10 min walk from beautiful chania old town.
Aria is super nice, always helpful. You will always find her in the shop underneath and she is great.
Crete is incredible, chania is so beautiful, and this is the perfect place to be.
We will comeback to chania and archin for sure
The best thing about this hotel is its location, it's at the heart of the old town of Chania and within walking distance of everything you want to see and do at Chania. It's also relatively close (<10-min walk) to the main bus station, which is quite convenient in case you want to take the bus to go to the nearby beaches or attractions. The staff members were also very friendly and helpful.
Our host was so wonderful! They were there for all of our questions 24/7. They booked us a tour, recommended best places to visit. They even borrowed us a parasoil :) Room was modern, new, extremely clean and well equipped. Bed was perfectly comfortable. Our stay in this hotel is one of the best experiencies in Crete, great example of Greek hospitality, I recommend it!
Everybody at the Balance Hotel is very friendly and helpful, and try their best to make you feel welcome and give you very useful information for your stay in Crete. The rooms are wonderful and very big, and also very clean. On top of that, the position is Perfect to reach the most beautiful parts of the city. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Chania!
This is an ideal hotel for Chania town exploration, situated very close to the Chania centre. You can rent a car and explore west Crete during the day but in the evenings you will be close to the beautiful Chania city’s attractions and restaurants/tavernas. Extremely kind and friendly staff happy to give you advice and tips for hidden Crete gems/places.
Beautiful decor and clean room in old town, Chania. Super close to everything: shops, restaurants, bars, bus stop. Great amenities, relaxing vibe and friendly staff! Sotiris is super informative about Crete; where to visit and eat - they also kept our luggage safe until our departure time. Definitely recommend and would come back here again!
Vasili and his staff were excellent, very hospitable , helpfull and very kind, Vasili took his time to explain how to navigate the island and mapped out all the best places to visit, breakfast was amazing, my overall experience is definitely 10+, if you happen to go to chania, Crete you need to check out Capitan vasili hotel..
A unique and lovely place, beautifully designed, very clean and comfortable. In the old town, it's quite central but quiet and peaceful, which is unusual in chania in August!. The breakfast was amazing, I've never seen such a delicious spread in Crete. The people too are lovely and very helpful
The apartments are very clean and stylish! As for convenience everything is thought out to the smallest detail. And the owner’s care for you is such that you feel at home and safe. We have travelled a lot in Crete and can say these apartments are worth 5 stars! Thank you very much, Antonios!!!
Good location in front of the sea, you can see it from the window of the room. With a 10 min walk you are into the old town, in the center of Chania. In 2 mins you are on the highway of Crete, that brings you everywhere in the island. Very friendly personnel that help you in any way.
I loved everything: if one day I come back, I'll stay here again. The best hotel I've stay in 10 nights in Crete. So quiet and comfortable, peaceful, decorated with taste! And cutting-edge air con, which is a must. The location if excellent if you want a relaxing stay.
Lovely, large spacious room right in the heart of Old Town! Maria was so helpful and accommodating. Very clean room and big, comfortable bed. Our room was away from the noise of the street so it was nice and quiet. Great value for this charming boutique hotel!
one of the best places I have been to in Greece.
their customer service is definitely the best.
the hotel room was very nice with a balcony.
breakfast was amazing and the pool is very nice. it’s a small boutique hotel and I liked it very much.
