We booked a last minute overnight stay in Argostoli after travelling around the island from our base in Skala. The room was huge, spotless and very comfy. A massive shower with good water pressure and tea/coffee making facilities were an added bonus, recommend!

There are several pleasant walks from the town. Head out to the Venetian lighthouse and beyond and find the moving memorial to the Italian soldiers killed on the island. On the promenade spot the loggerhead turtles eating the fishermen's cast off fish. Pleasant main square and shopping street, and loads of cafes and restaurants. Buzzy place and friendly.

Argostoli is an attractive port town with a picturesque bridge and some excellent restaurants - our favourites were Momento for seafood and the Captain's Table for lamb kleftado. The huge turtles where the fish boats dock were an added attraction. The town is a great base for touring Kefalonia! Staying at Twelve Suites was perfect, with the wonderful Athina to consult for local recommendations.

We were looking for a quiet place to stay, after some busy travel time. This place was great. I imagine it is more active in the summer months, but we were looking for peace and quiet. Lots of restaurants nearby, though we chose to cook quite a bit because we've been on the road for a while. There were a couple of things we would have like to see (Archeological Museum and Botanical Gardens) but they weren't open yet. That's okay. We come to Greece in the off-season and know what to expect.

It was our first time to Kefalonia, so weren't quite sure what to expect.
We wanted to stay somewhere busy and real, rather than a purpose built resort, so we chose Argostoli. Our first impression was that it did seem quite rundown, especially along the front, but we very quickly changed our views and saw the place for what it is - a busy, working town which was what we wanted. The first night we walked a short distance from our accommodation and soon came across the main square and the numerous streets leading from this which were filled with bars, restaurants, shops, entertainment and that was it for us - we were hooked!! Argostoli is an amazing place, there's lots to see and do, you can visit all the different resorts and great beaches really easily by bus or taxi (if you don't want to hire a car or bike), it has great nightlife, lots of shops, and lovely restaurants serving all types of food. There's plenty of fast food & takeaways if you just want to grab something quick to eat and there's loads of coffee shops. We didn't get chance to do a boat trip or see many of the sights as we were only there for 4 nights, but this is something we definitely want to do on our next visit to the island. Give the place a try and I hope you love it as much as we did!!
Absolutely amazing apartment and hosts! My flight was delayed and the hosts were waiting outside for me when I finally arrived. The place was spotlessly clean and had all the facilities you might require, ie. Iron, coffee maker and washing machine. Plenty of towels and super comfy bed. Provision of fruit juice, water, and complimentary toiletries on arrival. The hosts were always just a phone call away and answered my questions immediately. Probably the best place I have stayed at in Argostoli and I will definitely be back!
Our stay at Kefalonia Grand was a very pleasurable experience. The staff was extraordinarily friendly and welcoming. We couldn't make the first night unfortunately, as the ferry from Zakynthos just didn't go. The staff was very customer oriented in that case. The room was nice, the smell was awesome, the breakfast was a good buffet with very attentive service. The harbor just in front of the hotel is home to a lot of turtles swimming around. Kefalonia Grand was a great choice, highly recommended.
We travel a lot with my wife and unfortunately we only spent one night to this gorgeous hotel, passing from Kefalonia to continue our trip at Ionian Islands. Kefalonia Grand is the ideal place if you want an elegant, relaxing holiday into the capital of Kefalonia, where the action takes place. Clean, spacious rooms and great, polite staff. We also had a wonderful dinner with special cocktails at the hotel's bar-restaurant. Can't wait to move back for a week through September!
I would love to have stayed longer .
Loads of room and balcony space .
Sun comes up in one bedroom and goes down on the opposite balcony.
Perfect .
Daniela was adorable and such a warm greeting . She was the icing on the cake ! The mattresses were comfy which is unusual in Greece . Lift was a bonus for me as I have breathing issues .
Thankyou
We will definitely come again as have a holiday rental on Ithaca . So pass through kefalonia.
Especially in the winter months.
- The amazing view over Argostoli from the balcony
- perfect position (4 minutes from argostoli and Lassi, where we found the best taverns)
- the host is super kind, always available to help you get the best from the island and for all your needs
- apartment is super clean and you’ll find everything inside (first aid, medicines, even the sun umbrella to be brought at the beach)
- private parking
- powerful air conditioning
Best place to stay in lassi. Beautiful little bungalows, all new and modern and away from the main street.lots of thoughtful touches of wine, fruit, water in fridge. Really well looked after by our host
, nothing was Any trouble for them. And the views were spectacular. We loved this place!
Caprain makis trip from argostoli was ou favourite day out.
I would Recommend via lassi and captain makis to all going there
The property was beautiful, modern and freshly renovated. A feature we enjoyed was the black out curtains and the beds were incredibly comfortable. Clyde thought of everything! Any item that we could possibly need was in the home. It felt like we were in a 5 start hotel. Clyde even provided bath robes, wine and fruit. He thorough in explaining the ins and outs of Kefalonia.
The perfect location to the visit Argostoli. Close to everything: restaurants, markets, taxi, shopping street.
Doesn’t offer breakfast but you just have to walk down and you’ll find everything you need at Kefalonia’s reasonable price.
Very clean!
Excellent communication with the manager who is ready to welcome and help you at any time.
The apartment is super comfortable. The view from the balcony is exceptional. It has everything you need including a dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, iron. Parking is always available. Just 5 min drive from Argostolion. Calm environment. Nicole is super friendly and helpful. One of the best apartments I've ever been.
Very beatiful new apartment. Great facilities and furniture. Very clean and daily cared by the property.
Great location in Argostolis close to the city center and to public free parking.
We have been supported during our stay by Athena with a lot of suggestions on discovering Kefalonia.
Should be rated way more than a 2 star! Beautiful charming hotel with awesome cruise ship views! Small details like a welcome note and cookie along with a goodnight note and small bottle of wine was amazing and not seen in even the 5 star we stayed. You won’t regret staying here!
Host and his wife Natalia are nice, lovely persons. We stayed there only one night and the hotel let us midnight check in. Also, Natalia helped us to reach to our other hotel by her car. Location and the view from balcony is great. Value for money.
The staff - Maria especially -were wonderful providing information. Maria also was very gracious in forwarding me several items I left at the hotel. Beautiful location and not too far to walk into town for dinner, etc.
REALLY GREAT! Clean and spacious.
Panos was outstanding!!! So helpful and he knows everything about kefalonia! Had the best dinner, and visited the best beaches thanks to him.
Really recommend this place!
The family who run this hotel were extremely friendly and brought a lovely atmosphere to our stay. The restaurant has the best food I have ever eaten.
You are really close to the town centre and can walk.
