Room 12A was given and I tried to locate the remote which wasn’t available. I had to go to reception as there was no intercom available. Staff came and gave a remote which was not working for the TV. Then I have to go to the reception again. Staff member didn’t have an idea why the remote is not working. She said sorry and there is no other room available. Few minutes later staff came and I will be transferring to 15. I have thought about everything would be fine. When I the same problem with TV remote and even worse situation that there is no hot water in washing basin in bathroom/toilet. As I am frustrated and didn’t go to reception.

I was given Rm 14 it was too noisy the alarm was on awkward time when I was asleep. People were yelling screaming in a fowl language. Was not acceptable.

A very small room.

A “retro” style hotel, with friendly feel. It is very central to the CBD, with many eating facilities in walking distance. The staff were friendly. It was good to discover ( as we weren’t actually told by the staff!) that there was a lift from the kitchenette to the ground floor. As I have a recovering broken elbow, that was MOST useful!

Noise from air conditioners outside my window was 24 hours a day. Some noise until midnight from music and crowds.

There is limited designated parking is rarely available and street parking is one and two hour zones, this was very inconvenient at times. The rooms are are basic which is fine, but they need renovating, particularly the bathrooms. Providing a few additional basics like a second pillow and towel, shampoo and conditioner would be welcome. The communal kitchen is pretty unappealing but the only option for a jug or microwave, consider taking your own plates and cutlery.

The location is great, very central and close to the foreshore and lots of restaurants and coffee options. The room was airconditioned which was a pleasant surprise. The bar staff were happy to provide us with an ice bucket each evening as there is no fridge in the room.

Paint peeling off walls, no allocated parking but advertised as parking available- parking was generic for pub patrons or people staying in rooms & if spot not available bad luck. With surrounding streets all 1 or 2 hour timed paid parking this is an issue

- the door to the room didn’t lock unless it was slammed shut (we weren’t told this on arrival so lucky we noticed before leaving / it was also really loud for the neighbours) - the bathrooms were mouldy, rusty and had paint peeling off the wall and there was very limited space to put any of your stuff while showering - felt like the hotel as a whole needed an update

A staff member said we could have late checkout til 1 but next day cleaners said they can’t because they aren’t around then and another staff said they don’t do late checkout. Was a bit disappointing.

The room smelt of stale cigarette smoke. It could be that the smell is impregnated in the walls from years of previous smokers or smoke was rising from the outdoor smoking zone. My room was small, minimalistic and unaesthetic.

The noise from bars kept me awake until 1:00am, and I had to get up at 4:00am. I knew there'd be some noise given the location, but I hoped the room would be more soundproof.

Extremely comfy bed and pillow. Very convenient location on Town Square where I worked that night.
