Though staff were friendly, communication could have been better, arriving at 8pm i was rushed to drop my bags and get back to restaurant within 15 minutes of arrival, only to be told after rushing back that there was no rush! went to the bar at 10pm to grab a drink, only to be told that the bar was closed with no warning, then as i walked back to room the head of restaurant (i assume) asked if i would like a drink and took me back to the bar! not sure if this is a one off, or if the communication really is that bad?!

Rooms are large, and some have balcony or small patio, though rooms may benefit from updating they are still comfortable and clean. Staff were very friendly, food here is very good. the restaurant is comfortable with a reasonable range of cuisine. breakfast is also well catered.

I would rate the breakfast as average overall. It didn't seem like fantastic value for money. I think it cost an extra £20 so worked out at around £10pp. The continental was nice and there was a good selection but the hot breakfast wasn't good. The food was all just sitting there on plates under hot lights for you to help yourself but I found most of the food has been sitting there sometime and was cold/luke warm. The staff brought round tea and coffee which was served from jugs but again this was only warm. I feel like it would have been better to have the hot food served per request so it was served hot and would also help with wastage. It would be beneficial to have a hot water boiler for guests to have access to for hot drinks so they could make their own. Overall not a fantastic experience but it wouldn't put us off staying again, we just wouldn't opt for the breakfast option.

The rooms had a fantastic layout and were very spacious! It was lovely to have a sitting area and small balcony and then a separate bedroom and bathroom. It gave the hotel a more homey feel. The staff were all friendly and check in and out was an easy and stress free process. The car park was large and the area was great for our needs! Overall fantastic value for money! We never used the bar or restaurant as we had other dinner plans but they looked to be modern with a good selection of food and drinks.

The pool changing rooms looking a bit run down, though pool itself was great

The hotel really exceeded expectations. The room was an great size (club double room) with a huge bed, small table and chairs, desk, and separate dressing room. The bed and pillows were very comfy too! Breakfast was fantastic selection and excellent quality, with both continental and hot choices. The evening menu looked good but we didn't have chance to try it. Staff were friendly and welcoming and were able to get us a taxi when we struggled. The pool was a lovely start to the day with attached sauna and steam room.

Only two radiators, one of which didn't work particularly well so it was bit chilly in the lounge area. Door to the toilet didn't shut properly, although this was a second door inside the bathroom.

Excellent facilities and loved the pool & spa. We used it in the evening and it was very quiet. Our room was very large and it was great to relax in. Adjoining restaurant also very good for food and all set in a quiet rural location. Bathrooms also excellent quality.

When we arrived at about 8.30pm we were told that the bar was closed and so we couldn't get a drink - the receptionist said it would open at 11.00pm - unbelievable!!

Our room was super; on a whim our 21 year old daughter decided she wanted to come on our mini break to explore Pendle hill and complete the Tolkien trail. The hotel was very accommodating, putting up a bed in the living area of our suite for her, which was in a separate room to us. The food was fine, great to have a buffet again and chef made us some veggie sausages at breakfast time. A great find!

Mattress was a little harder than I would have liked but I expect this of hotels and I still had a good nights sleep.

Evening meal was superb, so much so I ate too much and was still too full next morning to make use of the included breakfast. A very nice stay and should we be in the area again I wouldn’t hesitate to book here.

Breakfast on the first morning could have been better. Breakfast cleared away as staff not expecting anyone else. It was 9.05am breakfast served till 9.30am. Some breakfast items not available and others cold. Breakfast the rest of the stay very good no problems.

Very friendly and extremely helpful staff, Minor issues resolved quickly and efficiently.
