Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWould have loved a kettle and tea making facilities.
Stayed overnight before flying the next day. Perfect location near Farringdon (Elizabeth line, Thames link) and lots of shops and restaurants on Brick Lane etc. Small but clean and comfortable room. Easy check in and out process.

SwedenNo hand towels, and the bigger towels were changed every other 3 days, which is good in a climate perspective, but wished they would’ve been changed sooner. Also you had to pay to store your luggage before check in.
Really good location, friendly staff and lots of space in the room.

AustraliaWalls are very thin, I could hear my neighbours a lot. Power sockets overheat when charging things.
Very cute room close to many London attractions. I loved the lights and even though I selected room without window, it felt very comfortable and spacious.

United KingdomThe only negative, having booked a room with no window to get the cheapest rate, was the amount of noise - we were in a room right underneath the stairs down to the lower rooms and the noise of people going up and down the stairs was hard to ignore. We have stayed here before in a room with a window on a higher floor and it was great with no noise issues, and I'm sure the downstairs rooms further from the stairs are probably also fine. Room was also very small but again, I think the rooms you pay a little more for you do get more space
The staff are excellent, very welcoming and helpful. The beds are comfortable, rooms and bathrooms clean, and the location is right around the corner from Liverpool Street station. The price is very good for what you get. It was also nice to have things like toiletries, fast WiFi and the hairdryer included still with such a cheap room, as those are the details you normally miss when you go for the most affordable places

United KingdomI was expecting the room to be as per the picture, it was totally different and more dated looking, but for one night it served its purpose and was fine for what I needed. The room was very small, ideal for one but would be very cosy for 2.
Ideal location for what I needed, modern public area and nice breakfast, good value for money

GermanyThere was no electric kettle in the room and the bathroom door was made out of glass, which may be too 'intimate' for some people.
As the title says, you get what you pay for. We paid for a quiet room with no windows and no breakfast included because we only used it for sleeping - it was perfect for that, but not much more. The people working there are very nice and helpful, there are countless bus stops nearby, you can buy coffee and snacks at the reception.

FinlandThe shower was too low if you’re over 180cm tall. The air conditioner was hard to use, you couldn’t set the temperature lower than 24c and sometimes it automatically put the temperature up to 28c. When leaving the luggage at reception the staff didn’t take them straight to locked room, leaving them at the open area.
Excellent location, near by the liverpool station and walkable distance from London bridge. The room was clean and had a tv with chrome cast. Breakfast was good, the staff provided gluten free options on request. Staff was always friendly.
