Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

BelgiumNo gym yet. Possibly a bit messy with check-in as it was supposed to be more personal, but perhaps not so easy to organise for a large hotel. Complex lighting. Easy to turn on all lights by mistake in the middle of the night. Stupid "reading light" placed in the ceiling so it went as much to the partner as to me. Annoying if one person wants to sleep and one read. I don't like hotels where windows can't be opened.

IrelandPoor staff. Lots of staff around but no one seems to know what they are meant to be doing. One example of this - we had some dirty cups in the room, rang down for them to be taken away. Four different people called before someone took them. Each one that called said it wasn’t their job and they would call someone else. Finally I made the 4th lady take the cups because it was getting ridiculous.

BulgariaThe staff was very polite but quite inefficient. We had to wait for literally everything, but the worst was the waiting time for the breakfast. First we had to wait more than 15 minutes to be seated, then another 30 minutes to get the tea. The service really needs improvement.
The hotel is beautiful, modern, spacious for London and perfectly located. Bed was very comfortable and bathroom was big.

AustraliaBooking.com is great for quoting prices including all taxes and fees prior to booking. So I was surprised that the hotel notified me shortly after booking that a "discretionary" 5% service charge would be added to the bill. Perhaps booking.com can work with the hotel to ensure that guests understand this charge before a booking is made.
Great location close to Bond St tube station. Very quiet due to soundproofing. Very friendly staff. We received a room upgrade at check in.

United StatesWe hear that an onsite gym is in the works and would love to access that next time, however this was not an issue as an offsite gym was readily available in the meantime and the hotel is close to hyde park for anyone keen on a run.
The BoTree exceeded our expectations and we will be staying here again. The location is fantastic, the rooms were beautifully designed, and the staff provided five star service which ultimately made this stay feel quite luxurious. We have already recommended the hotel to our friends and family who travel to the UK often. The excellent breakfast and the live DJ in the bar area were also nice touches

SingaporeI wish there were bars in the toilet so that i could hang the towels / clothes after shower. Having to walk out to change or retrieve the towel from outside was uncomfortable as the temperature was too cold. Also, there was no basket to place used towels in. I couldn't bring myself to put the used towels on the floor.
I love the ambience, the convenience and staff were simply awesome. One of the best hotels I've stayed in. The hotel also incooperates nature and technology well. The decor was of nature and the lift.. Simply modern where I do not have to wait too long for the lift to arrive as with Intelligent technology the card access was seamless. I also love that they have the floor heating system. Staff Wengkatesh patiently explained the room facilities and he was simply polite too.
