Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe booked an afternoon tea which was delicious. The breakfast both mornings were excellent. The staff couldn't do enough for us. It's a totally different level of service. We wanted to treat ourselves before Christmas and we definitely did that! The best part was the American bar. Lovely cocktails and bar snacks.

United KingdomUnfortunately, the pool was not available during our stay due to maintenance work . Despite us having a reservation at the River Restaurant we had to wait almost 30 minutes to be seated at our table... apologies we're given but we were surprised that this happened.
This was our second stay at The Savoy and we had another thoroughly enjoyable experience. The Christmas decorations were still in place which made the hotel look even more fabulous. The staff are so welcoming and do everything they can to ensure you feel looked after.A special mention to Zaira in the River Restaurant who was so warm and friendly and made our evening even more pleasurable.

DenmarkWe loved everything about our stay and can only recommend it. But on our last day, we asked the concierge about tickets for a hop-on-hop-off bus tour of London and ended up not buying them at the hotel as they were 20 GBP more expensive (per person) than down the road near Trafalgar Square. This seemed unnecessary (and slightly baffling). The hotel was extremely busy when we were there, probably because of the Christmas holidays, so we sometimes had to wait for a table for breakfast because guests come from the outside. This was simply something we didn't realize, so I would recommend booking a table more often than you might otherwise because it's a popular hotel. (This actually made it feel less touristy and more local to us, so despite the busyness, it made it feel authentically British). The excellent central location on The Strand means that the area around the hotel is extremely busy with both people and traffic, so just beware of that.
The Christmas decorations at the Savoy were something from a fairy tale or a movie! The staff were some of the best we've ever experienced in any 5-star hotel - they consistently went above and beyond when we had the slightest wish. The whole experience was one of pure luxury, yet it was also relaxing. There wasn't an atmosphere of arrogance or privilege as one might fear in such hotels, and yet at the same time, the legend of the Savoy was felt everywhere. We appreciated being able to order a little Christmas tree for our room, as we spent Christmas Eve and Day there, and there were little chocolate-y surprises for us in our room, which made it extra special. We had booked at stay where breakfast was included, and it was so nice to just indulge in the generous selection every morning. It is no exaggeration that we consistently ate too much, as it was all of amazing quality. We had also booked a table for afternoon tea, which was likewise lovely, and we had booked at table at the American Bar, another popular destination for guests and outsiders as well, so booking is recommended. These all made the experience even better. The location is perfect for walking to all the sights of central London, as the hotel is situated between the Thames and Covent Garden, only a five-minute walk from either, and about a 15-minute walk from Trafalgar Square. This meant you didn't have to constantly take the Underground to go to places. We also walked to the Southside over the nearby Waterloo Bridge, from where we could see the London Eye and Big Ben, and we walked to St. Paul's Cathedral in the other direction.

CambodiaA couple of the courses of the Christmas meal were not so good, but the biggest issue by far was that when the bill came for lunch, an extra three people had been added (who did not exist) at a potential additional cost of about $1000!! Of course, when pointed out all was immediately sorted, but I might not have spotted it on first looking.
The location is excellent for Central London. The staff were the stars - literally nothing was too much trouble for them, and they were always checking that all was exactly as we wanted it. The rooms were lovely, and the beds sooo comfortable. Christmas lunch was understandably expensive, being 7 courses in a top restaurant, but for the most part was really lovely, A booking at the American Bar for Christmas Eve with a group of family and friends was an outstanding addition to the stay.
