It was excellent for what we needed, and we'd be very likely to stay here again.

The house smelled very "musty" on arrival, and again after we'd been out all day. It cleared quite quickly once window were opened, but that wasn't ideal, nor great for keeping the house warm. The towels were a little thin. The painted floorboards, rather than carpet, in the hallway and lounge felt a bit odd at first, but we got used to it.

Excellent location for visiting the area and the house has stunning views over Teignmouth too..! Shaldon is a 10 to 15 minute walk but as the description says, the house is at the top of some steep steps, at the top of a steep drive and at the top of a steep road, so going down is OK - getting back needs a bit of effort :) The lounge is a good size and we had some extended family drop by and there was plenty of space for 9 adults and 3 kids. The Kitchen diner was a good size too. The house was well equipped and the beds and linen were good. Once we'd found the heating controls it was warm and comfortable. The "jack and Jill" shower room was OK for us, but may not be for everyone. The wood burner is a nice touch on cooler days & nights.
