How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

In a deluxe room we’d expect a fridge. Not sure if we got everything we should have for the upgrade. TV max volume was too low we respect others and would not be inconsiderate
The views across the golf course were lovely. Balcony nice to have. Bar nice. Restaurant was excellent. Breakfast excellent. Staff excellent

The up grade restaurant I'm afraid left much to be desired. The waitress had no idea about the wines offered. She also had no idea on how to serve thinking it was appropriate to just pour three glasses of wine. The starters were tasty. The steals incorrectly cooked and the blue cheese sauce tasted of nothing and was more of a brown colour. All in all a great disappointment we paid our bill except for the non cheese sauce.
The room, parking and access were all good the reception staff went above and beyond. The cellar bar was equally excellent. Also the bar maid in the restaurant was outstanding witty welcoming and quick to serve demonstrating a great knowledge of customer service and her bar.

Whilst everyone was pleasant a few of the staff members were less approachable and didn’t smile.
Great setting when looking over the golf course. Great sized pool and lovely spa area. Food was excellent and choices of bar and restaurant gave flexibility.

We stayed in one of the lodge rooms and they could probably do with a little refresh.
Breakfast was excellent, restaurant was lovely and the staff are a credit to the hotel.

The chalet style rooms rather dated, myself and my colleague who stayed in another room both had bathroom fans which didn’t work. Only half the lights worked in both rooms, I assume this was due to energy saving. Overall, the rooms could do with updating.
Very good location, amazing bar and restaurant facilities. Close location to the NEC.

Apparently my partner said the male changing rooms where dirty and towels all over the floor
Stopped after a day at NEC It was nice to chill in the pool and steam room Sauna wasn't working though

The headrest on the bed is broken I love the outside space but being 6ft6 and having to downgrade rooms for an outside one was unfortunate....
The staff were accommodating, helpful and polite. As always

It was a little dark. No plug socket or USB next to both sides of the bed. Nescafe coffee - there must be a better option that won't bump up costs. (just my personal preference)
The room was a good size, clean and tidy, ironing board and iron a lovely touch. Lovely bathroom. Twinings English Breakfast tea always good. Bar Facilities and view to golf course was beautiful

Would be nice if water was supplied in the room.
Loved the location, nice and near to NEC and other areas if needed. Good grounds of the golf course to walk around as well. Food is fantastic both for dinner and breakfast. Would like to see few more vegetarian options as the Chef cooks well and will probably do really well with other options on menu too. Spa features nice as well, relaxing week considering I was on an event for 4 days at the NEC!

No drinking water in the rooms. Every other hotel I have stayed in leaves at least 1bottle of water in case you need to drink some water. Is the bathroom tap water fit for drinking

Uncleanliness of female changing rooms. Housekeeping took away the extra towels I had requested Lack of breakfast items on the Sunday morning, long wait!

The hotel spa was disgraceful, Sauna was not working - the pool was cold and full of rude children splashing with minimal adult supervision which really ruined the 'relaxation' part of the trip.
I liked the room and bed, the bed was comfortable and clean. The golf course is beautiful and looks incredible.

I was not expecting the motel style of bedrooms. After dinner we had to walk in the rain back to our rooms. We had noisy neighbours, but that was probably wedding guests that had drunk too much and nothing to do with the hotel.
The staff were very friendly and happy. The quality of the food was excellent. We ate in the restaurant for dinner, which had a good choice of food and drink at reasonable prices. The bar also offered food, but more choice of burgers, pizzas, etc.

Breakfast was a little poor. Lots run out by 9.30. No gluten free options for a coeliac myself.
