Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsAlthough it basically has everything you need, we personally prefer to have a window. the air circulation was well regulated, but it still feels a bit closed off. price-quality ratio is good.

AustraliaBeds were very low, and just a mattress on the floor really. The floors were not vacuumed during the stay and debris built up quickly in the room. I also didn’t like that the toilet door didn’t fully seal. I stayed with a friend and we felt that the toilet was not private at all as you could hear and see everything. No TV or bench space to put anything. Room makeup service was also limited to fresh towels and toilet rolls being placed on the bed. The beds remained untouched. Just didn’t feel that paying the price we didn’t match the service provided.
Location was amazing and ease of getting everywhere was incredible.

GermanyRoom is hidden in a maze of hallways. Shower drain clogged so the whole bedroom flooded with water including some clothes. Had to use towels to mop up and asked for replacement towels three times and these were not delivered. Five hours later I went to reception on my way out for dinner to ask for them again, staff seemed unbothered. Got handed the towels there and then to trek back to my room and drop them there myself. Poor customer service.
Central location and quiet rooms.

PolandHaving no windows in the room is more unpleasant than one imagines. Claustrophobia sets in, and the provided subdued lights are insufficient, e.g. I had to shine my phone's torch over my wife's face so she could apply her makeup. Also the sink was clogged, with no way to reduce the flow from the 2 setting tap (fully on or fully off). I bumped my head on the top bunk 5 times throughout the 1 night stay, and use of the iron is £10, £60 to stash a couple suitcases ("but if you come to me I'll do it for 30, just for you").
Location and price can't be beaten. Very comfortable, very large mattresses

United KingdomAs another reviewer has mentioned, the room was claustrophobic There is no cupboard or hanging space for a longer stay than one night The shower area soaks the whole room once you get out, Needs shelves or something to keep things on during stay. No fridge or cooler to keep bottled water cool Even after knowing what to expect, the value exceeds the negatives, and the location is perfect. Small changes would really improve the rooms.
Location perfect. Nice clean hotel Nice room Really easy check-out

United StatesCheck out is 10 am but you can check your bag for £15.
This is an introvert’s dream! I was able to check in and needed very little interaction with staff (though there were always staff ready to help with a tablet to help). If I had a question I could send a WhatsApp message and it was answered in seconds! There are 6 elevators that are large and very rarely filled up. I did not have to wait long for an elevator no matter what time of day! Water pressure and temperature were perfect! Internet was fast enough for me to connect to video meeting one morning. Walls are thick and rarely heard any guests. Also location, location, location!!!

United KingdomWe have stayed here a few years ago and had a good experience however this time staff were rude, if you get there early you have the option to either pay £40 for early check in or £15 PER ITEM to leave your bags in the luggage room. Same when you check out £15 per item or around £50 for an extra hour or 2 in the room. I dont know any orher hotel I have ever been to where you have to pay to leave your bags in the luggage room. Don’t bother staying here pay the extra staying in a nicer hotel rather than paying to leave your bags, also most other hotels at 11am checkout this is 10am.

Austria- The Breakfast was not my cup of tea. You could choose from a menu, which "set" you wanted and you would get that served. The water glasses had old water stains on it and the water in the water jugs had lint in it. - There are no windows, so that is something not everyone is used to. - Finding your room can be challenging, because it is like a labyrinth. I wasn't so lucky to get a room next to the elevators, so it took me a while to find my room. - The rooms were clean, but I found one long strand of blond hair in the bathroom and I have black hair. The rest was very clean. - I was a bit shocked about the price of renting the blow dryer. 10 pounds so that I can dry my hair. I contemplated renting, just to find out, that there were non left. I had no chance to dry my hair, even if I paid that money. So for people with longer hair or just wanting to dry their hair, take a blow dryer with you, because I had to leave the hotel with wet hair and with lower temperatures outside, I was freezing.
- The location was absolutely fantastic. The walk from the underground station is really short and it is just around the corner of Chinatown and SOHO. - The cost/performance ratio for London was really good, considering the location. - The beds were very soft and had a lot of power sockets for charging. Even some USB A Ports for charging in case you forgot your travel adapter. - The staff were very friendly and helped me whenever they could or when needed. - Check-in was also quite simple and not complicated and was done on iPads. - Everything was quite new and not too used and had a warm, earthy and modern design. - Airconditioning worked really well.

FranceProperty look good and picture, but if you don't take a deep look, you'll not see that there are NO WINDOWS in all the rooms, which is a bad surprise. Moreover, it's impossible to join the staff through phone, mail, ... (at least booking helped us). The AC wasn't working, but we succeed to reach the staff present and get another room
Location was really good. It was clean and they changed the room when we tell that the AC wasn't working

United KingdomOur room felt almost too spacious, like it was lacking something, it almost felt like a warehouse space. The lack of items like a tv, phone, or even something like a chair made the room feel a bit more basic. We did find a bedbug in one of the beds which we did speak to the manager about, but obviously wasn’t very nice.
Great location. Comfortable beds. Modern feel in rooms and lobby. Ideal for bigger groups- not many other hotels that offer rooms for large numbers of people.
