Parking was difficult to find around the university.

The property is well situated between the University and the old town. The building is from the 1800’s- so cool. Not sure if the stone walls are from the original building - awesome nevertheless. We thought it was great value. They brought us breakfast to the room- good variety of buns, scrambled eggs, yogurts and fruit. Great views of the city of Coimbra. Will definitely recommend this hotel.

Fabulous quirky decor, with super comfy beds. Loved our welcome drink and the absolutely sumptuous breakfast. So well positioned close to the university library. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.

It was not an issue for us, but if you have trouble with stairs, ask for a first floor room, as there are no elevators.

The staff on arrival are super nice and the facilities are amazing. The room has a fantastic view and the jacuzzi is maintained well. They give you so much food during the stay and just make you feel super happy during the visit. Also recommend Coimbra as a town, as people are super friendly in general and the streets are so cute!

Parking can be difficult to find.

Lovely, unique property! We received a delicious bite and refreshment upon arrival. Rooms were beautifully appointed and beds very comfortable. Breakfast was great! The hosts were very helpful and accommodating as we were travelling with my 80 year old mother and were originally on the third floor. They quickly changed our rooms to the first floor so my mother would not have so many stairs to climb! Very much appreciated!

No complaints. One small niggle was the lack of storage space in our room but this wasn't a problem for us.

We received a very warm welcome and could check-in early. The room was spacious and clean, with a nice view of the city. The location is super, in the heart of the old town. Breakfast was good and delivered to our room. Some nice touches added to the experience - the welcome glass of sparkling wine and cake was lovely.

We absolutely loved our stay from start to finish. They were so welcoming with a glass of wine and cake delivered to our room. Each morning we had a wonderful breakfast basket delivered to our room. The location is close to the university, botanical gardens and city centre. Fantastic stay!

Threshold to bathroom is a tripping hazard. My husband tripped bruised the bottom of his foot and cut his arm quite badly.

Room was exquisite. View was absolutely incredible. Jacuzzi in the room was very fun. Receiving staff was very friendly and helpful.

The bathroom was very small and there was little seating area or storage for clothes. There is no parking so you must park on the street about 5 minutes away in a municipal lot or on the street. However that is to be expected in the historical part of Coimbra.

We liked the uniqueness of the property. The room was not your typical hotel room. In exchange for the character you give up some practicalities. There is a hot tub like grotto that took up a lot of space that maybe could be better utilized as living space. However we did enjoy the hot tub after a hike outside Coimbra. The staff were very friendly and delivered a continental breakfast each morning that included eggs ham cheese and fruit. We were also welcomed with champagne and cake. They restocked the fridge with free water and 2 beer each day. They provided good restaurant suggestions. We very much enjoyed the Sete restaurant close by .

Street noise

If you want to rejuvenate your spirit this is the place to go. There is noise off of the street but the location, amenities and kindness of the people working there make up for having to wear ear plugs.
