How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Wish the check in staff would have given us a little more information on amenities but they were friendly and answered questions on the text
Location was great. Near the Ghirardelli shops, Fisherman's Wharf. Lots to do and close to public transit. Bar area in hotel had games for everyone to play.

On our first night we were woken up a few times by the overnight street noises (garbage bin, etc being emptied). The other side of the building was significantly quieter!
The hotel was clean and in a great location. The staff and amenities were really good. They upgraded our room to a quieter one upon asking.

The rooms were a little worn. Especially the tub in the bathroom. Our room location was very noisy at night with deliveries.

The room isolation was not great I was at (127) and it has a connection door with other room where loud sounds of conversation bitter us a bit, not only that we heard kids crying from the room beside ours.
The location is amazing just a few blocks from Fishermans Wharf, the staff was pretty great communicating with us all the time, the room was super clean and nice.

The pool was heated but could be cold at times with the wind since it was outdoors.

Pretty much all of it was great, the only little niggle was the noise from the bathroom fan all the time but that’s so minor and we were exhausted at the end of every day anyway that it wasn’t too disruptive
The staff were extremely friendly, it was really close to fisherman’s wharf and surrounding areas, the fitness centre was handy and we had a great wee view of Alcatraz from our room. The filtered water stations were also brilliant and the milk and cookies was a nice touch!

The bathroom is small and the bathtub/shower is very slippery. Scary if you’re older. You have to request a coffee maker and refrigerator and no one refills the coffee supplies. The bar is open off and on. Parking is extra and very pricey.
Comfortable king size bed in a very spacious room. Great view of the bay and Alcatraz. Purified water stations on every floor. Nice continental breakfast included in the lobby with other items you can purchase.

Very noisy outside in the early hours of the mornings - rubbish collection we think. Guests in adjoining room were quite noisy on our first night.
Everything was good particularly the convenient location. The room was spacious and comfortable.

Bathroom could have been a bit cleanar. Our view was obstructed by a wall. The other room we booked had sea view which was nice.

Our room was on the ground floor with the window facing back into the pool room/bar area which was not ideal because we didn’t have any natural light in the room at all. There was also no main ceiling light (only lamps) in the room either which further increased the darkness of the room overall.
The location was fantastic and the facilities were very clean & easy to use.

Would have been nice to have a fridge already. They were apparently available upon request.
Great location and comfortable, clean hotel. Appreciated the complimentary coffee and cookies and milk. Rooms are large and comfortable.

Parking is extra, just make a note of that if you happen to be driving in
Nice hotel by Fisherman's Wharf, a good location to pick if you're intending to hit up all the tourist stuff the San Francisco waterfront has to offer - easily walkable from here.

The drip coffee wasn’t very nice. The air conditioning unit was very loud.
The location was close to Fisherman’s Wharf and it was easy to use public transport to get around. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable.
