It was a good a good base for two nights (we booked an extra night) because it is easy drive to Halls Gap to walk in the Grampians and also tour around the area. Ararat has a museum, art gallery and delightful gardens to walk through. Has retained lot of Art Deco buildings which gives it a lovely ambience.

Local interesting history, being the JWard prison and Ararat Lunatic Asylum - both worth a visit. Town centre has ample cafes and restaurants to suit all tastes, and shopping to suit all interests. Short drive to Stawell, Halls Gap and Grampians. An interesting and worthwhile place to visit.

Easy to walk around the town, restaurants within easy walk.
Easy to walk around the town, restaurants within easy walk. The Alexandra Gardens were beautiful to wander around and with a cafe as well. The Chinese heritage building was worth a visit with kids, they tried gold panning, dressed up and wrote their names in calligraphy while learning a little bit about the history of the town. A few restaurants looked ok in the main street, we chose Khoon Thai and certainly werent disappointed.

There are a couple of wonderful restaurants.
There are a couple of wonderful restaurants. From 7 pubs to two, this is disappointing. Wonderful gardens, museums, architecture and local history. Grampians and vineyards for miles. Fratin brothers at cathcart; their Rosè is to die for. Great shopping.
I thoroughly enjoyed staying at G'Day Parks Ararat! I felt very welcomed and comfortable there. I stayed in a self-contained unit, which had everything I needed. No issues to report. Wifi was strong. Everything was very clean and worked as expected. The included table and chairs provides a great work and eating surface. Communication was clear. I slept well there. Easy come, easy go. I'd happily return.
This is a lovely pub and bistro in a great location in Ararat. Staff and the owners are very friendly and welcoming. They were very kind in shouting me a free dinner due to being given a small room (see below). I had a parma in the bar downstairs for dinner, which was delicious, and the eggs benedict for breakfast which was also good.
The Barkley Bistro Bar & Accomodation was just exceptional, will definitely be recommending to family and friends when staying in Ararat. The bedrooms were so cute and stylish with comfortable beds and clean bathrooms.
The breakfast the next morning was also incredibly delicious!
Second time staying here. Very close to the town centre and rooms are spacious and recently renovated with well stocked mini bar. Shower in the bathroom had good water pressure. Nothing to complain and will be staying here again if passing through Ararat.
Simple motel but well thought out, lovely people running the place and everything I needed for a good stay while in Ararat for work. Comfortable bed, dark at night, bit of highway noise but not enough to disrupt sleep. Really clean.
Well maintained, clean rooms and facilities. Matt and Kaylene were great hosts, provided good info about things to do in Ararat and halls Gap. Conveniently located just off of the city, yet close enough to market, Woolies etc.
Great place for a stop over. Service is good and the rooms are clean. The traffic and the trains are fairly quiet. I would recommend this venue if you need a quick stop over or somewhere to sleep if you have a busy day.
It is located just next to the super market and other shops which gives you more than enough options. Room had all required facilities for a comfortable stay. The rooms give a true colonial motel feeling.
comfortable motel, well presented and spacious room kept very clean. Hosts were very helpful and welcoming. Ample space in grounds and well located to main street, RSL club and Blue Duck Hotel.
The location is AMAZING!! You wake up to magpies chattering away in the nearby trees, and can easily view the trains coming into Ararat on the line. It's a beautiful spot and one you'll remember.
This accomodation is right in heart of Ararat, perfect location for a traveller with everything you really need for your stay, special mention to the hosts for their hospitality and management.
The house keeping lady was just lovely - they are helpful but also ensure privacy. I have family in Ararat so I come there quite often and this will now be my regular hotel. Thanks
