The old town has venetian architecture, the modern town that has grown around it has a wide array of shops and restaurants, and there are lots of beachfront businesses as you head along the seafront. The old town is very picturesque, easily walkable, and very relaxed, lots of restaurants with outdoor dining, also lovely sitting by the port dining, long promenade along lovely beach. Less touristy than Chania. Located between Chania and Heraklion, makes it ideal for visiting both as well as archaeological sites etc.

Rethymno has the right mix of old town charm, modern hotels, a beach and a nice promenade. Plenty of places that serve authentic Greek food at very affordable prices, nice shopping opportunities, a pretty good beach - overall, I think Rethymno is better than Heraklion or Chania for a vacation stay.

The suite is located in a central area on the beach in the Old Town. There is a plethora of entertainment choices literally under your feet and despite their proximity from the suite, the property is rather quite, having no trouble sleeping. The host has been super friendly and always available to satisfy our needs. The BEST part though is the private jacuzzi on the top floor!!!! We are definitely coming back again!!!ΜΜΑΡΙΑΝΘΗGreece

The location was within walking distance to the old town area but far enough away from town to give it a resort feel. We only wish we could have stayed longer.
