Small enough that we felt like we were a part of the family. Staff are really friendly and always smiling and saying hello.

We spent 2 nights here. The room was clean and we had free wifi and electricity. The hosts are true entertainers and made sure we got the full fijian experience. From showing us around the village to hosting a kava ceremony, there was a little bit of everything. There was enough fijian cousin to feed everyone twice. The beach is beautiful, and we loved snorkeling and relaxing in the hammocks on the beach that we had to ourselves. You can borrow snorkeling gear or a kayak free of charge. We especially enjoyed being shown how they make the lovo (a fijian dirt oven) while drinking a coconut straight from the tree. All in all, we had a wonderful time.
Set in a pristine beachfront location on the remote Yasawa Island, Yasawa Homestays provides a beautiful escape. Immerse yourself in Fijian culture with traditional dances, food and village life.

The locals were wonderfully friendly and attentive, they genuinely seemed happy to have us in their midst. The location on a fantastic white sand beach is quite stunning. We enjoyed swimming and snorkelling from the beach. We had a great walk up to the phone tower with fantastic views across the islands in all directions. We really enjoyed the Sawa-i-lau caves, which are a 20 minute boat ride away. Swimming into the second cave and exploring it was a remarkable experience. Note the caves are closed on Sundays, open 8 am - 12 noon Mon to Sat. Hospitality was great, we ate our meals in different houses around the village, often shared with other homestay guests. We joined in a kava ceremony one evening which was entertaining. Accommodation is basic as you would expect, a spartan but comfortable beach front bure, our own toilet and shower in a shack close by. Shower was a bit of a warm trickle but did the job at the end of the day. Food was basic but tasty, very carb heavy, you may want to practice politely declining seconds. We drank plenty of local water with no ill effects. We also visited a couple of the resorts in the Yasawas and a few days at a homestay made a great contrast and really enriched the whole trip. We travelled on the Yasawa Flyer which worked well, the connection to the homestay was easy. We booked individual transfers between the islands ourselves rather than using the multi day pass, which was a lot cheaper in our case. We bought 500g of kava root in Nadi before leaving for the islands as our sevusevu, it keeps for a few days no problem.

It was very nice stay! Emily is very kind and helpful. It was comfortable, we met new friends there. No internet connection is a big adventage there! Food was a little bit poor (no protein) and portions were small, but you can always ask about more :) It was a great stay :)

It was in a beautiful location, I was in a dorm alone (mainly because there was not a door handle or lock on the bathroom door so it wouldn’t stay closed and I questioned this)
It was quiet, the food was good.

A stay that I cannot find any fault with. If you’re struggling to decide which of the many resorts and islands in Fiji to pick from, then you really can’t go wrong with Nanuya Island Resort. From the second you arrive to the moment you leave you become part of the family. The food throughout my stay was great and for me seemed like great value and the staff go above and beyond to make every aspect of your visit as enjoyable as possible

One of our favourite stays in Fiji. We were hosted by the wonderful Evelyn, who is so genuine and caring and her cooking is delicious. Evelyn kindly catered to our vegan diets, which we heavily appreciate. If you like alternative milk with breakfast, bring some with you and they will kindly refrigerate it for you. Alesia was a wonderful helper and I enjoyed speaking with her. The room was beautiful, light and airy, with a lovely view.
Definitely check out the blue lagoon beach and don't miss the summit hike either! Note that if you wish to swim every day, the best option is to go to the blue lagoon, as the property is among mangroves so you can't swim there. The first boat trip to the lagoon is free and from then on it's just $20pp return which is good value.
We loved eating together with other guests.
