The room was fairy quiet although it was ground floor and in front of restaurant. Also really clean as everybody mentioned.
Although we were late to arrive (later than we told them ) the receptionist was very friendly which was good.

Kids loved the connecting bunk room and rooms overall were beautifully decorated. The food was of a high quality- both dinner and breakfast. We really enjoyed having a drink in the wonderful gardens at the front of the hotel. Staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

Service was exceptional, and the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating.
The assistant manager Emma and the team went the extra mile for my husbands birthday, and even put up birthday bunting and poppers for our evening meal!
Great food and an exceptional breakfast offering!
Room clean and well appointed.
Location is great for visiting the Abbey, The Steam Railway, and The Butterfly Farm and Otter Sanctuary.

We were quite lucky to get the room at the very top with beautiful view through the back door.
The hotel is at the centre of the village, free off road parking area close by.
The hotel provides light breakfast at the communal breakfast area, with some fruits, sweet bread and cereals.
There are a few walking routes around the area which is quite nice.
There's a bar downstairs which serves food and drink, however when we were there, the bar was very busy so we got fish and chips from the village instead, which only a short walk away.
We enjoyed our stay at the Station House, South Brent. We would come again 😊
With a charming oak-beamed restaurant, this former motel offers home-cooked food and real ales. Dartmoor Lodge is on the edge of South Dartmoor, surrounded by scenic Devonshire countryside.

Our stay was a very pleasant experience in this hotel, with friendly staff always willing to help. The restaurant served excellent food, although we only sampled one evening meal, and the breakfast options were varied and seemed to cater for most tastes - even the toaster was quick and efficient!
Being quite near to the Devon Expressway the hotel is easy to get to by car, but not sure about public transport. The availability of overnight car charging is a bonus, although there is a very good charging centre 2 minutes away.
The hotel is very clean and the rooms are well looked after and very comfortable.
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a nice place to spend time in this area of Devon.

You can see the town in less than an hour.
You can see the town in less than an hour. It takes longer to get out of the place with the bus service. Both fastfood chains remained hot from takeaway to hotel on a cold night though, which was impressive. Also impressive to see a refill shop in such a small town.

My Mum and step dad have lived in Buckfastleigh for 27 years and I have lived there from time to time myself. It's changed very little over the years, some of the shops have changed hands or gone altogether but it is pretty much the same as it's always been.

Buckfastleigh is a quaint village on the Southern edge of Dartmoor, literally just off the A38. Of no exception.
It has two main attractions, Buckfast Abbey and the South Devon Railway.
The Abbey has an exceptional restaurant / refectory and the railway has a cafe.
It has one service station and a quiet high street with a fish and chip shop (not a restaurant). I must admit the high street was a little short on eateries.
There is a pub on route to the Abbey called Abbey Inn (no association).
They serve reasonable food and drinks. The place is clean and tidy, but has no aires and graces. It has a seating area that over looks the River Dart. The pub has a small car park and a steep path leading down to the pub entrance.
Buckfastleigh is 10 miles West of Bovey Tracy where you can find the Marble Museum (glass blowing) and Trago Mill (a shoppers paradise).

Not much there in nearby Buckfastleigh but it has old character. Just a narrow one way road with a few shops and cafe's. There is an old pub museum worth a visit.
Buckfast Abbey is well worth a visit. It is a fabulous building and is just a very short walk from the hotel

Well situated for the activities we had planned.
Well situated for the activities we had planned. Hotel staff very friendly and offered a super service without intruding. Will certainly use this hotel as first choice when in this part of Devon. Thankyou
The location of the house was perfect for walking into Buckfastleigh, but also for visiting other locations around Devon.
Just off the main road from Exeter or Plymouth.
An was there to meet us at the cottage when we arrived, and showed us around. There was a welcome letter which detailed all the information you could possibly need for your stay.
The cottage was clean, tidy and very comfortable for our family of 2 x adults and 2 x teenage children.
Fantastic place to stay in the lovely peaceful town of Buckfast.
The room was very comfortable, well decorated and very tasteful with interesting art work.
Breakfast was well cooked and presented beautifully and the owners were very pleasant. The whole property was well maintained and the gardens were pretty and well managed.
As the property leads onto a narrow Devon lane there was a helpful mirror to make leaving the property easier.
There was good advice re restaurants which we took and had two lovely evening meals.
Breakfast were great. The Staff were very friendly & attentive. The hotel has had a recent modern renovation that has improved it's look from previous stays we have had. It's in a quiet location on the edge of Buckfastleigh, with very close access to the A38 for Plymouth or Exeter and your on the edge of Dartmoor with short drives of 7 to 14 miles to market towns of Totnes, Newton Abbot and the seaside towns of Torquay & Paignton on the south coast.
This hotel is above and beyond. The room are bigger and the bathrooms are great. The breakfast was delicious and every thinking for vegetarians and vegans too. The staff are very happy to help. The grounds are amazing the abbey is only a few steps away lovey area for walks. Spacious car park well looked after. We are booked to stay again. .
Room was excellent, with a nice view over the grounds. Hotel was very quiet, few other guest present, so normally buffet breakfast was cooked to order instead, and was great.
Car chargers available, but had issues on arrival; staff sorted them quickly and we had full charge overnight.
Will stay again next time we're down this way!
Really amazing staff who were super friendly and helpful at breakfast, particularly advising on gluten free options. The shower was great with really powerful water pressure and the bed was huge and very comfortable. Location is great as close to main roads and was helpful for seeing friends in Buckfastleigh
Lovely old inn, great atmosphere. Low ceilings and beams added to this, even if they got a bit awkward. Not overpriced considering the other properties in the village.
Good beer - including the brew from the prison!
Car park at rear, so easy access and cheap. Long stay 200 meters and also cheap.
Kids loved the connecting bunk room and rooms overall were beautifully decorated. The food was of a high quality- both dinner and breakfast. We really enjoyed having a drink in the wonderful gardens at the front of the hotel. Staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
It was in a lovely idyllic setting, right by the river Dart. Well situated between Plymouth & Torquay & the steam railway runs from Buckfastleigh to Totnes alongside the river Dart. The food is amazing, especially the scrambled eggs at breakfast!!
The property has a new feel. Service was good all around - warm and efficient. And it is located right at the edge of Dartmoor - within 20 mins drive of the best walks and scenery. Buckfast Abbey and complex next to the hotel is a hidden gem.
Lovely location next to the Abbey and close to Dartmoor. Clean comfortable, modern and spacious room. Friendly staff. Quiet. Good breakfast. Helpful chef designing meal around dietary issues.
A really comfortable hotel with lovely food and helpful friendly staff, The restaurant had an extensive menu and good drinks menus. Bed was also comfortable.
Mill Cottage is a lovely place in the centre of Buckfastleigh. Comfortable and cosy. It was convenient for everything we needed to do whilst in the area.
