Chefchaouene is a beautiful mountain village with friendly people and just emerging in its tourism. We had the most incredible traditional hammam at Riad Cherifa. There was a sense of culture and tradition without the intensity of the big cities like Fes and Marrakesh. If you are visiting Morocco this was one of our highlights.

A ridiculously picturesque city with a quaint Médina to stroll though. An afternoon, dinner, one night and breakfast is likely enough time to explore the area. There are lots of hills/stairs so might not be ideal for people with mobility issues.

It is a more laid back place compared with where we had come from in Morocco ie. the bustling city of Fez -So we instantly felt more relaxed! We mostly enjoyed exploring by walking at our own pace in this pretty town in the mountains. We enjoyed views from rooftops and from the top of the Kasbah. We had good meals- one at the main square a restaurant called Twins which was great for people watching and to see the entertainers! Also the other restaurant we went to twice was called Cafe Clock where there was live music every night and the staff were very helpful and interested in chatting with us..

Picturesque town with lots of photo opportunities and hiking directly out of town. Smallish, but fun Medina which is full of steps and alleys you can get lost in, but easy to get out of as well. A bit touristy but souks are not pushy at all.

Scenic, but lots of tourists (including us!)
Scenic, but lots of tourists (including us!) most handicrafts for sale did not appear to be of high quality; however, some rugs looked quite nice but I didn’t have the capacity (room) to consider purchasing any.
Best stay in Morocco. I didn’t want to leave. Hospitality 10/10 hesham, the manager is a fantastic host. He was always there to help with any questions, and super proactive. The room was mindblowing. The most comfortable mattress in Morocco out of 5 hotels. The rooftop has a nice view too. It’s super close to the square (5 min walk) I was so sad to leave. Chefchaouen was my favourite part of the trip and I think Dar Elrio played a huge role on that.
The staff member with whom I interacted was very attentive and helpful and met me several streets away to accompany me to the hotel, which would otherwise have been a bit difficult to locate using Google Maps alone. The room and bed were quite comfortable, and the view from the balcony overlooking the valley was impressive. I was also pleased by the shower's water pressure. For quite a reasonable price, the room and facilities were comfortable.
Top notch service from everyone involved! The room and whole hotel had a lovely Moroccan feel. We very much enjoyed the regular access to mint tea as well. Spending evenings on the terrace with some Moroccan tea was a nice way to end the day.
The location was perfect; just outside of the old madina.
This was one of 4 hotels we have stayed in during our time in Morocco and by far our favourite.
Thank you so much for a lovely stay 😊
Breakfast was wonderfull and delicious. Local products like bread, honey and famous Marocan mint tea - all really good and tasty. Not to mention fresh fruit juices - I am in love with the freshness of the oranges and other fruits. We unfortunatelly do not have this quality in Poland :( Marvelous view from the balcony at the top of hotel - all city visible, all blue houses were there <3
Absolutely loved this place! It’s location is perfect. The rooms & the hotel are super clean. Really comfortable beds & pillows as well. The rooftop terrace was fantastic for the night and early morning views of the town.
The host family was extremely warm, welcoming and just wonderful altogether.
Highly highly recommend this place and would definitely return.
The location is really good, the entrance to the medina is just in front of the hotel. Also it is really close to the bus station( if you chose to travel like this). Best breakfast in Morocco i would say as some of the food is home-made. Get info about locations to eat from the owner, he will recommend some maroccan restaurants.
The service was of the highest possible quality, the administrator was open to all our requests and helped us w/ every issue we have faced. The location is great and easy to find, you can reach every point in several minutes and the hotel has interesting boutique of unique hand made souvenirs.
The best hotel in which we stayed in our 10 days trip in the north of Morocco. Staff was very helpful and nice, the room was clean, big and had a beautiful bath. Everything smelled so well, breakfast in the small garden was great. And the place itself was impressive and soothing.
Bed was amazingly pretty as it is on the picture. The owner was so kind that he recommended us the good restaurants and told us to see the sunset from the mosque.
Shower room was also amazingly pretty and nice.
Welcoming sweets and mint tea treated us once we arrived the hotel
Location is brilliant! Ossama and his father are great hosts, they have made this place very beatiful and are very welcoming. Breakfast is absolute value for money and of of the greatest hotel breakfasts I have had in Morocco. Very very good and reliable Wifi for working.
- Great location to visit Chefchaouene
- Clean shared toilets and showers
- Good value for money
- Nice blue and white colours on the inside to stay with the style of Chefchaouene
- I was able to book a room at the last minute after another hotel canceled on me
This hotel would be one of the reasons to visit Chefchaouene again!
Amazing rooftop and breakfast. It was so cool to chill there in the evening wrapped in camel blanket.
Thank you guys for the atmosphere! Hope to visit you again.
Lovely bed and breakfast. The staff is super friendly. This is the best shower we had in Morocco. Good pressure and hot water. We stayed in nice hotels throughout our time in the country and everywhere else showers were luke warm.
Everything! The staff were so friendly and kind. The room was beautiful, and filled with artisanal details that made it very magical. The shower was awesome!! I’ve never been more happy with a hotel stay - highly recommend.
Great hotel, quirky, nice gardens. Excellent location in Medina. Parking was a bit challenging. Breakfasts are the same everywhere we have been and were not included
The staff were all very friendly and helpful and no request for assistance was a problem for them. The hotel is well situated, We would definitely stay there again.
