my wife and I came to this amazing Garden of Eden on earth in pre-season at the end of November, unfurtunally we spent only 2 nights, I wish we could spend at least 4!
The facilities are amazing, the staff is wonderful, helpful and very friendly and the close access to the river bank provides a major value to this isolated location.
you should definitely plan to spend one day just enjoying the Pousada and not making plans and attractions for all your fun days in Bonito area.

Unfortunately, after 6 days, I think Bonito is a little overrated. Don't be fooled by the glowing account in Lonely Planet! On the one hand, Abismo Anhumas and Rio da Prata are definitely worth the journey (and money) - they are unforgettable experiences and some of the highlights of my time in Brazil. But otherwise I don't think there's much to recommend. Lagoa Misteriosa and Nascente Azul are lovely places, but neither of them need full (or even half)-day tours. Nascente Azul is kind of awful, actually: the Nascente itself is great, but you don't need more than an hour to see it (the tour takes nearly 3); the rest of the place has been developed into this ghastly waterpark with restaurants and loud music - a good example of the bad side of ecotourism. If I had my time again, I'd only have come for a couple of nights.

Bonito is a wonderful natural treasure!
Bonito is a wonderful natural treasure! With amazing rivers, rich fauna, delicious foods, endless exotic fruits, and more than 60 excursions, we could easily spend a month here and never get tired of the local beauty and people´s hospitality! The organization of the tours are exceptional even during the high season. We felt safe within our groups and the guides were knowledgeable. For us it was a educational and recreational experience. We will sure be back!

Bonito is such an amazing place, with lots of activities to do and it is also a safe place.
I stayed there for 6 days, but I wished I stayed longer.
I rented a car from Bonito to go to my daily activities, the roads are easy to drive and well maintained with lots of signs. You can't get lost in there.
Activities were organised before through agencies and it was also very easy. The only downside is they were a bit expensive, however worthy.

A place set-up to link the tourist to fresh water activities. Real opportunity for snorkeling and swimming with fishes.
The city centre has not too much to offer and food is really expensive. Worth if you are not on a budget.

While the surrounding offers spectacular nature, the vibe of the place is for you to come as a tourist, overpay for the tourist attractions, and leave. Most activities have to be done with a guide through an agency so you can't really enjoy things at your own pace.
No reason to stay longer than doing the tours you've chosen. Every activity is overpriced (I've traveled around the world) under the pretense of eco-tourism. So, for example, I paid ~$78US (344 BRL) for a couple of hours snorkeling trip with lunch. A fair price in Brazil would likely be a quarter of that. I doubt the nice "eco" part of the intentions when places sell water in bottles and don't offer filtered water for free. Considering restaurants offer all types of meat (including cayman) and fish, there's not much care for the environment but for the pockets of the people owning the land which, IMHO, should have been made a nature reserve rather than private farms.
I wouldn't consider it a Brazilian eco-tourism success story but rather an oligopoly success in exploiting natural resources for maximized profits.

We stayed in Bonito for a week in total.
We stayed in Bonito for a week in total. This is one of my fav places in Brazil so far.
We ate at Juanita and Casa de Jaao. We loved the caves, especially Abismo, we also loved the Nascente Azul and Rio de Prata. We visited Mimosa and adored swimming behind the waterfalls, we did tubing and boating at the RIO FORMOSO.
We love it here! Bonito is an understatement
Would recommend hiring a car then you are free to move around as you want, we also stayed at the Zagaia resort and loved that too,
The hotel is cute and cozy. Rooms are clean BUT super cold at nights! And there’s nothing you can do about it.
We were there in July which is Brazilian winter, so it’s quite cold at night. The floor in our room was impossible to walk on, even in thick socks.
Nevertheless, I guess this place is wonderful during Brazilian summer!
The staff was super friendly, even though just one guy spoke English. He was very caring and nice to us!
Breakfasts were tasty. Location in the town is very good, close to good restaurants.

The property was lovely, a very different vibe from staying in a regular hostel or hotel, which my partner and I truly appreciated. The chalet where we stayed was small but comfortable and clean, and the property had a kitchen space and a nice garden/open area to hang out. Bathroom was shared but perfectly clean and accessible. Extra points for the property being pet-friendly and its beautiful handcrafted spaces. Also well-located.
Clean, comfortable, and affordable, Pousada Olho D'Água was the perfect stay for an unforgettable trip to Bonito! Set a few kilometers outside of town, this wonderful hotel offers guests a tranquil getaway with everything you need for a relaxing stay. Waking up each morning with wild toucans, macaws, and sometimes monkey guests was an added bonus!
It was really nice place to take a rest. Every parts of hotel looks new, all employees are very kind to customers. When I asked to the manager about their opening date, he told me that it took only 3 months. Beds were also clean and cozy.
Awesome - a very natural, lovely and unique space. The owners are very concerned about their guests and will help you with anything. You’ll love your stay, if you’re looking for something different from a usual hotel, pousada or hostel.
Bunk beds are really nice, they have curtains for privacy and lots of storage room. Generally, the dorm, like the whole hotel, was beautifully furnished and spacious. Bar and bar staff was also exceptional.
Great location, close to many bars and restaurants of Bonito. Staff are very friendly, always tried to help when we asked. Hot showers. Good breakfast including fruit, breads, eggs, tea and coffee
Beautiful hotel with spacious room. Very comfortable and the staff is very friendly, exactly what we needed! The breakfast was nice and the pool area is beautiful
