Upon arriving in Ushuaia at 9 am, a short ride from the airport brought me to the hotel, where the staff warmly greeted me and assisted with my luggage. The welcoming touch of hot chocolate set the tone for a delightful stay. Check-in was seamless, and I was invited to enjoy a complimentary drink and breakfast since it was still early. Although I passed on the drink, the breakfast spread was delicious, especially the homemade lemonade.
After breakfast, I was pleasantly surprised to find my room ready. Room was spacious and super clean! A quick shower later, I was prepared to explore the area. The hotel's concierge was incredibly helpful, securing a spot for a trip to a Martillo (Pinguin) island the next day and offering tips for my stay.
My first adventure was a hike to lagoon Esmeralda. Despite warnings of muddy conditions, the experience was exceptional, with stunning scenery. The hotel staff had thoughtfully prepared me for this hike, ensuring I had all the necessary gear and sandwiches.
Returning from the hike, I indulged in the hotel's spa facilities, enjoying the jacuzzi and infinity pool with views of the Beagle channel and mountains. Despite the hotel's distance from the city center, transport (shuttle bus and Uber) was convenient and affordable.
Hotel's spa facilities provided much-needed relaxation after my daily long hikes.
On my final day, following a recommendation, I hiked to a glacier, enjoying spectacular views and concluding the trip with a delightful meal of local cuisine.
Leaving was difficult, but the memories of this incredible journey will stay with me forever.
Huge thank you to Ivan, Maria, Milena, Luciana, Antonella, Leonel, Michaela and the rest of the wonderful crew for making my stay unforgettable.

The hotel is beautiful, with many beautiful details and added to that it is a sustainable hotel. The details and the rooms make you feel like you are in a small cozy mackerel, which takes you to the literal clouds, because the bed was like lying on a cloud embraced with another cloud that was the padding, the bed was a paradise to rest in, which Perfect for when you are hiking all day, getting to take a good shower and rest in a cloud that hugged you.
This without forgetting that the attention of the staff from the cleaning person to the manager, they have super attention, kindness and service 10 out of 10, a wonderful team that will make you feel like you are on the best vacation, without a doubt when you visit again. Pictures do not do Ushuaia justice, and I had seen many pictures before. I could stay here and have plenty of options for things to do if my time allowed. We are already planning our return trip! Whether you love large areas of open water, alpine mountain scenes, wildlife viewing or local trinket shopping, it is all available here. Driving is an interesting experience with lots of hills and people who seem to drive as they wish, but once you adapt it isn't bad. Lots of places are closed for siesta/afternoon break (1-4 PM) so plan accordingly. Also, if renting a car be aware that there is a "Guarantia" that is separate from your normal rental fees and insurance that is charged to your credit card when you pick up your car. This was our first time renting a car in the country and were surprised when we found that we would have an extra charge of over $1000 USD to cover at the counter, just a heads up as guarantia is due at pickup and will be a $1000-1500 USD deposit on your card that doesn't show in your original booking.

Ushuaia is an amazing little city..it was so much bigger than we had expected! There are tons of souvenir shops, stores, restaurants, and tour operators in the area. The views of the mountains and the Beagle Channel span every where you look. It's breathtaking! It's a very walkable city as well.
Our favorite spots to eat were the Patagonia Brewery, Casimiro Bigua, Bodegon Fuenguino. Special shout out to Dublin Pub for some good drinks and fun ambiance!
We took a tour of the Beagle Channel and saw tons of wildlife. We also did a guided hike through Tierra del Fuego and rode the End of the World train. There's so much more to do there..we wish we had more time! Loved it all!

Ushuaia is a great place to visit.
Ushuaia is a great place to visit. We walked with the penguins tour with Piratour one day and hired a private driver with L&M Ushuaia Taxis another day to go to Tierre del Fuego. Both days were memorable. There is a great lamb restaurant on the main street with 3 lambs on a spit in the front window - the lamb was superb! Taxis are cheap and plentiful. very glad we visited Ushuaia - the end of the world!

The boat trip is well worth it…we got one where we did not get off the boat. This was sufficient and we still got very close to the penguins and sea lions who did not seem bothered by our presence.
Also a local guide for the National Park is recommended, ours was very knowledgeable and took us to the best places, he also gave us options of where we wanted to go and we could spend as much or as little time as possible.
Going to the Post Office at the end of world and sending a postcard from it was fun :)
I would say 3 days in Ushuaia is plenty but we were very lucky with the weather.
Also, just in case you need it, there are some good places to eat for Vegans 🌱 especially Isla Vegana
They were super friendly and also recommended good food places with vegan options for the evening … yaaay

The national park was spectacular.
The national park was spectacular. The food, off the main strip, was cheap and spectacular. The city is the port to Antarctica and Cape Horn is just outside the Beagle Channel. The people are kind and welcoming. It is a wonderful city with mountains in the backyard for hiking and climbing. It is a top knot h outdoors city.

The City of Ushuaia has its charm.
The City of Ushuaia has its charm. Yet the surrounding area was unbelievable. The taxista Raúl Medina (+54 9 2901 50 6867) showed me El Parque Nacional, the city of Ushiaia and drove me to the parking lot for Laguna Esmeralda. Visitors can contact him for his services. Along with the staff of Aionkenk Raúl made my visit one of my best vacations ever. The bar Santos on Maipú is a local watering hole and restaurants El Faro and Moustacchi had great food. The cruise on the Beagle Canal to the penguin rookery was grand!
This is a beautiful hotel, situated near the top of a hill with wonderful views of the Beagle Channel and the port. The rooms were small but clean and big enough for two people. The lobby and dining area are clearly add-ons that seem to join two structures together. The whole thing works together beautifully as a single hotel. There is no elevator from the lobby to the rooms on the higher floors, but the receptionist was kind enough to help get our bags upstairs.
I just arrived back from an Antarctic expedition and they were very accommodating with letting me leave the bags with them before and after my check-out. I was really tired so I appreciated the quiet, serenity of my room at night. The breakfast and staff were top notch also. I would highly recommend this hotel! If interested, I will be posting some incredible Antarctic video to my You Tube Channel soon @ Solo Joe's Travel Adventures
Very friendly and helpful staff.
My bed was comfortable and room was nice.
Heating works very well and i even have a small Bathtub in the bathroom.
Breakfast is great and plenty.
You can walk down to the City from the Hotel in a reasonable time ( Hotel is a little bit outside )
All in all a very pleasant stay here in Ushuaia
I had a great experience in Hotel Austral for three nights. The Staff are super friendly and they arranged for me all the excursions for Beagle Channel and Tierra Del Fuego National Park. The room is spacious, clean and the bed is so comfortable. All what i needed for my stay. The breakfast was good too.
Andrés is a fantastic host! He goes out of his ways to be accommodating. I had a few odd requests, and every time has been exceeding my demands. He also lives on the first floor of the hotel, so he is very responsive and available. The rooms are very clean, plenty of heat and hot water.
Very charming hostal, not too far away from the harbour and main strip in Ushuaia with all shops and restaurants. Friendly staff. Rooms are on the small side but downstairs is a large dining room that you can use during your stay. Good place to stay a few nights to explore the area.
Lovely view of the Beagle Channel and the city of Ushuaia. Good Wi-Fi. Everything you need to cook. (electric stove). Drip coffee machine but no filters provided (paper towels maybe used to improvise a filter). Good water pressure (not always a given in Argentina).
This is a great B&B! 10-minute walk to Ushuaia's "downtown" area but out of the hustle and bustle. We drove and parked out front. Clean rooms, delicious breakfast and other interesting travelers. Gaston gave us great hiking recs too. Highly recommend!
Nice little apartment in a quiet area of Ushuaia. All the facilities are there to cook and prepare food. There was a gas heater that worked well and also an electric one to top it up if required. The place was great value for money.
Wonderful location with stunning views of Ushuaia harbour and the Beagle Channel and the surrounding mountains. Easy distance to the city, national park and glacier. Rooms are well appointed. Nice breakfast buffet.
The location was great. The host was very kind and helpful.
The apartment has everything needed to spend an amazing time in Ushuaia.
Heated floors and even a washing machine. Highly recommend!!!
It was oversold as a high end hotel. It was just ok. The rooms were average. The location was pretty good. The breakfast was fair, at best. The staff was pleasant and kind. The hotel was fair.
The terrace of the hotel offers a great panoramic view :) probability among the best in Ushuaia. The personnel was friendly and helped us with our trip.
