Situated within 500 metres of Manda Beach and 500 metres of Shela Beach in Lamu, Jua House provides accommodation with seating area. The staff, food and overall ambience made our visit one of the nicest stays we’ve had in a long time. Immaculate facilities. The place is just so tastefully decorated and well thought out. Morning coffee on the terrace overlooking the harbour…. The village of Shela is lovely. No cars. Clean beaches.

This historical Arabian-style building is located in the UNESCO-listed town of Lamu. It is less than 300 metres from the seafront and 3 km from the white sandy beach. The staff are always very helpful in case of anything. The room was clean, the entire hotel was clean and you can walk around barefoot.

Offering a terrace and quiet street view, Wildebeeste Lamu is situated in Lamu, 300 metres from Lamu Fort and 400 metres from Gallery Baraka. This hostel is located in a gorgeous old Swahili style house. The manager is the BEST. So helpful he even had me picked up at the airport. It is located in the center of Lamu town really close to everything. Rooms are quite big. WiFi worked very well.

Featuring an outdoor swimming pool, Banana House and Wellness Centre is located in Shela village, Lamu 2.7 km from Gallery Baraka. The property is set 2.8 km from Lamu Fort. The staff was INCREDIBLE. I felt like every single person was going out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed. They were able to arrange a PCR test, change money, accomodate meals and arrange activities. The yoga classes were wonderful and appropriate for the heat, the food was excellent. I could go on and on about how amazing my stay was.

Situated in Shela, Shela Bahari features a restaurant and sea views, 100 metres from Manda Beach and 300 metres from Shela Beach. Set on the beachfront, this property has a shared lounge. The location and views. Friendly staff and the owner Tawfiq was always willing to help with any request.

Offering sea views, Furaha House is an accommodation located in Shela, 60 metres from Manda Beach and 200 metres from Shela Beach. This beachfront property offers access to a balcony. Our host Kazunga was fantastic! He cooked delicious meals for us, set up tours, and showed us around town.

Facing the seafront on Manda Island, Mangrove House features a private beach area. Among the various facilities are barbecue facilities and a garden. Our stay on Manda’s side at Mangrove House was truly wonderful. The location is unmatched, the peace and quiet are absolute. The staff is wonderful and so is the owner, super attentive and ready to help and share. The house is right in front of Shela and Peponi hotel, just a short boat trip away. Would absolutely go back, and recommend it to everyone going to Lamu!
