El Bolsón is a quiet and beautiful place with dry, calm climate. For Patagonia, there is very little wind. The access to La Reserva Rio Azul for trekking is simple and there are many refugios (staffed huts) in the mountains to make camping easy. Beautiful hiking in the area, great craft/food market, excellent store for hiking food (El Molino.) Cheap food and drink. Warning: Bring plenty of Argentinean pesos to El Bolson! The restaurant is simple but the food is well cooked. The room I had was small(ish) but had all the facilities that are required. From a ski racers point of view this is the perfect hotel. Close to the mountain but the hotel has an excellent ski tuning room with powered benches and a heated boot rack.
