The place is very clean and well equipped. Everything works well, stuff on reception is nice and very helpful.
Breakfast is delivered in the evening befor and is big enough to take away on a hike.
The place is located a bit outside of main streets, but the village is pretty small, so it's anyway like 15 min walk to the center and some hiking paths start right from your door.

Beautiful town, lots of places to eat and have a beer; know that the weather is extremely unpredictable and hardcore: we had insane winds when we there in beginning of April. We got lucky enough to see Mt Fitz Roy the first day we were there but every day after (3 days) it was covered in clouds, so take that into account for your trip!

Amazing place that can be the base for many adventures!
Amazing place that can be the base for many adventures! We planned our trip to Patagonia leaving more time for El Calafate, but we left thinking we would have preferred to switch this! In El Calafate, everything is much more tourist like and you need to pay for basically every tour you’re going to.
Chalten felt more chilled and like you can just leave the hostel and go do your own thing without necessarily paying for an agency to take you somewhere.
It’s a very charming little place with great food and local beers available, so very cosy and welcoming after a long day of hiking

We loved El Chalten!! The hiking is incredible!
We loved El Chalten!! The hiking is incredible! And the town is adorable. Love the little local food places. Since the weather is so variable it was nice to have an extra day in our schedule to wait for a clear day for hiking. We all filled it with horse back riding, climbing and birding so no one was bore.

Located under the towering peaks of Fitz Roy, this town is a special place from which to explore the Andes. There are walks to suit all levels of hikers and the landscape is just breathtaking! The people of el Chalten are especially kind and friendly also.
Staff was fantastic. They were friendly and knowledgable and worked very hard. The kitchen accommodated early starts and had many options for breakfast. Eggs were made to order for those interested. After very dusty hikes (very dry in El Chalten area), we appreciated hot showers and soaking in the deep tubs. Location was in the center of town and within walking distance of amenities and trailheads.
they serve a wonderful breakfast. the reception / TV area is very pretty with all these plants. the room is decent though could be loud if you are close to the lobby. I used ear plugs and was fine. super close to the trailhead for both Laguna De Los Tres and Laguna Torre. the ladies can also help you book a shuttle service to El Calafate airport or your hostel or hotel for 6,000 ARS.
You know, in this city you can not say that there is a very large choose. It is also impossible to say about the city that the hotel prices here correspond to the quality. Practically everywhere this is not true. I rate this property in light of the above. And given that, it's not bad. It's clean and well equipped. They communicated well with us. It has pretty new furniture.
A small place with a homely atmosphere and super friendly staff, located a 3-minute walk from the bus station. There are only single beds in the shared rooms, no bunks. Everyone gets a towel, there's soap and shampoo in the showers and the beds are made daily (which I've learned that are not things that go without saying at some hostels in Argentina).
Great breakfast that included a good portion of eggs. Staff were friendly and offered advice about where to find the National Park office. They also respected the price in ARS without a hassle over which exchange rate to use- an issue we found with a couple of properties in Argentina.
Close to the Fitz Roy trailhead!
We went to hike and this hotel is great. It's close to trail heads.
Room is enough for our purpose, and the public eating area is good to chat with friends.
Staffs are very friendly and patient to answer questions.
Every area in the hotel is extremely clean. I saw staffs worked hard to keep it clean.
Not just the staying and the breakfast were amazing, also the host, Aracelis, helped us on having the best possible experience in El Chalten: with her recommendations, storing our luggage after the check-out and lending us equipment for hiking.
I'll absolutely come back to La Guanaca!
The property has a good location. If you get a better price than me then it’s ok for staying in such a magical place in Patagonia. WIFI was pretty good for El Chalten standards (jfyi, it’s really bad everywhere in the town, so be prepared 😅)
My recent stay in El Chaltén was pleasant overall. The rooms were clean and spacious, providing a comfortable retreat after a day of exploration. The breakfast offered a nice selection, contributing to a positive start each morning.
staff were so helpful with any questions we had and had great suggestions on hikes and places to see. the hotel itself was located in the centre of el Chalten. was very clean and comfortable
Very cozy apartment in a good location in El Chalten. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. We forgot a charger and they sent is to us in Calafate with the bus. Highly recommend.
There's a large kitchen and common area to use. The personnel is very friendly. It's located in the center (but since El Chalten is pretty small, most of the hostels are ;-)).
Nice hotel, felt more corporate and profesional which was nice after multiple days of hiking. nice rooms, comfy beds, nice shower. what you would expect
Dont expect a big hotel, but the rooms are very nice and big, the staff is great, and the restaurant is good enough for a decent meal after a long day.
