Located 18 km from the Iguazú Falls UNESCO World Heritage Site, Puerto Iguazú is an Argentinean town situated near the Brazilian border, in the Province of Misiones. Its compact city centre is packed with restaurants, cafés and shops, while the area is well-known for its red soil and lush vegetation.
The stunning falls comprise 275 individual falls spread over 3 km between Argentina and Brazil. They have a maximum height of 80 metres and a water flow that can be three times superior to that of the Niagara Falls.
The Guaraní natives named the falls ‘iguazú’, meaning ‘big water’. The national park was founded in 1907, and some of the best hotels in Puerto Iguazú are located in the road linking the city centre to the falls. Some hotels on the Argentinean side of the waterfalls offer beautiful views.
The local bus station offers links to several long-distance destinations, including Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires. The city is served by Cataratas del Iguazú International Airport, while the Brazilian Foz do Iguaçu International Airport is 16 km away.
Whether you need a backpacker hostel, a hotel near the airport, or a 5-star resort, don’t miss the Puerto Iguazú deals available on Booking.com!
I loved the Falls, especially the Argentina side. This was also our chance to visit Paraguay. There were some nice restaurants nearby. The weather was terribly hot and humid. We didn’t stay long at either Park because it was too hot and crowded in the morning. The sidewalks in Puerto Iguasu are terrible.

Seeing the Falls was a once in a lifetime amazing experience...
Seeing the Falls was a once in a lifetime amazing experience. Hiking trails are clearly marked and easy to walk. Trails well planed across the tops of falls allowing for various views of the falls. Restaurants in the park provided a broad choice of food and drinks and very good WiFi.
Toilets near restaurants were clean and well stocked with paper and soap.
Fantastic experience!
The city of Puerto Iguazu was small enough to navigate on foot but with many choices of good restaurants and places to stay.

It will leave you speechless!
It will leave you speechless! What an amazing site to behold!
Tip: As of this writing, the Argentina side is not a good option for viewing the Falls. They had a flood in October that damaged the Devil’s Throat Falls and two of the walkways. There is no telling how long it will take them to do the repairs, especially since they have not even begun any work.

This is a FABULOUS site.
This is a FABULOUS site. The waterfalls are amazing and well worth the trip. This was my second time here (first was May 1997) and the area has changed dramatically since then, with many more hotels and restaurants, but the ecology has remained natural and wonderful. You need two days here, one for each side of the Falls as the views are very different. The Bird Park near the Brazil side is well worth the visit. Also, allow 30-45 minutes to cross the Brazilian border from Argentina, both ways (the Brazilians insist that you go through immigration to both enter AND exit the country.
We stayed in Puerto Iguazu at the Secret Garden. Ate at La Rueda (steak) and at Aqva (fish). Both were excellent.
Nice hotel! Very nice pool good for relaxing at after going to Iguazu Falls. The hotel is located outside of town in the jungle, it’s a beautiful setting but know that it is not walkable. We knew this from previous reviews and it was not an issue for us as we really enjoyed the restaurant and the bar. The day that we did venture out to dinner the hotel helped us find a cab there and back. Service at the bar and restaurant runs at a relaxed pace, if you are looking for a quick bite to eat you may want to consider a different option.
The place is amazing! The location is great (near the Brazilian Embassy and close to many fancy restaurants), the price is very affordable, and the room is clean and cozy. Everyone here is so friendly and helpful, especially Steve himself. He is always smile and trying to solve any problems of the guests. He speaks good English, it's quite helpful in a Spanish-speaking city! I'd like to recommend the place to all of my friends. Don't miss the bar in the hotel! Delicious and affordable too.
Ah, my own apartment - after weeks of dorms, hotel rooms and overnighting on coaches. And octagonal as well...the surprise of having the use of a teapot so that I could make proper English tea. Yes, excellent cooking facilities too
Erika was lovely, informative and welcoming.
Once you know the area a little you realise that Tres Fronteras and the centre of Puerto Iguazu are within easy walking distance and the bus station just off Missiones gets you to both sides of the falls.
Modern, clean, comfortable hotel in great location near restaurants and downtown area. Spacious, airy room with good AC, comfortable bed and nice bathroom. Lovely top floor pool and bar with amazing views and good food/drinks. We enjoyed a dip in pool on hot days. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fine but not the best we've had at hotels. Overall, excellent quality and value for the money and we would return.
Luckily the location was great as we crossed into Argentina from Brasil so it was one of the first hotels we saw. As Argentinians cross the border to fill their car with cheaper petrol, the line for the petrol station was bumper to bumper outside our hotel entrance. There was a little miscommunication upon check in but we managed to find a number to order food from a restaurant as we arrived late, but staff were helpful.
Super place, clean, and comfortable. Although it’s right off the main road, it was quiet and peaceful. The staff was kind, attentive and accommodating. The grounds are lovely…you feel like you are staying in a homey resort rather than in a formal hotel. (There’s a biodiversity center on the grounds!)
About 20 min ride to both the Argentina and Brazil side of the falls.
Would definitely stay here again.
Miguel is a great host and made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The apartment is perfect, clean and comfy, with a good bed and a well-equiped kitchen. The location is perfect, in a calm area 5min walking from the city center and near the bus stop for the catararas. We highly recommend to stay at Miguel's place and would come back if we are again in Puerto Iguazu !
Nice property. The rooms are a generous size. The restaurant is good with many options for dinner. I was able to arrange my transportation to the falls and the airport through the service at the hotel. We had little time and they arranged us to see both sides of the falls in one day. We had an early plane and they even packed a breakfast for us.
it’s a really good place to stay during your trip to iguazu! it’s super easy to get to the iguazu falls (both sides, Argentina and Brazil) from the hostel and in the afternoon you can relax in the hostel and enjoy the swimming pool. it’s super clean, a perfect equipped kitchen and the owners are super friendly and helpful
The hotel is run by a lovely and very helpful couple who will explain all details about Iguazu falls to you. Comfortable facilities, fairly centrally located and very affordable. They also offer a small amount of currency exchange and transfer services across the border with Brazil, which was very convenient.
Parking available in private lot in front of hotel. Location is within walking distance (couple blocks) of many restaurants. The value of the rooms for the price seemed very good compared to other hotels/hostels I stayed in in northern Argentina.
There are two appartments in the family house yard, the host was very kind and assisting, quiet area, close to the city center, bus stop to Iguazu falls of Argentina park and of Brazil park is just 2 minutes walk. There is near by supermarket.
We were in a 2 bedroomed bungalow near main hotel but could make use of hotel pool which was very welcome . It was near enough to walk to the tree Frontiers site.
The bungalow had kettle which was useful
Hector the owner is a wonderful human being very helpful and kind. 20 minute car ride to the airport and the Iguazu falls also very close the the center of town great place to stay in Puerto Iguazú
Excellent view of the 3 border-countries, Paraguai, Brasil and Argentina, from my 6th floor room! Breakfast great, and top location, really near the center of Puerto Iguazu.
