Located 18 km from the Iguazú Falls UNESCO World Heritage Site, Puerto Iguazú is an Argentinean town situated near the Brazilian border, in the Province of Misiones. Its compact city centre is packed with restaurants, cafés and shops, while the area is well-known for its red soil and lush vegetation.
The stunning falls comprise 275 individual falls spread over 3 km between Argentina and Brazil. They have a maximum height of 80 metres and a water flow that can be three times superior to that of the Niagara Falls.
The Guaraní natives named the falls ‘iguazú’, meaning ‘big water’. The national park was founded in 1907, and some of the best hotels in Puerto Iguazú are located in the road linking the city centre to the falls. Some hotels on the Argentinean side of the waterfalls offer beautiful views.
The local bus station offers links to several long-distance destinations, including Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires. The city is served by Cataratas del Iguazú International Airport, while the Brazilian Foz do Iguaçu International Airport is 16 km away.

Very disappointed.
Very disappointed. Spent time and money to get to this part of Argentina to see these falls and we saw very little due to over tourism. It was so crowded you were elbow to elbow, face to face and some times wheel chairs running over your feet so they can get by. It was terrible. What a way to ruin 1 of the 7 wonders.

I loved the Falls, especially the Argentina side. This was also our chance to visit Paraguay. There were some nice restaurants nearby. The weather was terribly hot and humid. We didn’t stay long at either Park because it was too hot and crowded in the morning. The sidewalks in Puerto Iguasu are terrible.

Seeing the Falls was a once in a lifetime amazing experience...
Seeing the Falls was a once in a lifetime amazing experience. Hiking trails are clearly marked and easy to walk. Trails well planed across the tops of falls allowing for various views of the falls. Restaurants in the park provided a broad choice of food and drinks and very good WiFi.
Toilets near restaurants were clean and well stocked with paper and soap.
Fantastic experience!
The city of Puerto Iguazu was small enough to navigate on foot but with many choices of good restaurants and places to stay.
A smallish hotel in a good location within ten minutes' walking distance of the bus station and the centre of Puerto Iguazu. Quiet and peaceful with a view over the river from the breakfast room. An excellent breakfast (cheese, ham, fruit, bread, cakes, juice, cereal, yoghurt, tea, coffee, etc). Very helpful and friendly staff with someone on reception 24 hours a day. Also has a nice swimming pool. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the river - very pleasant. I would certainly recommend this hotel.
The place is amazing! The location is great (near the Brazilian Embassy and close to many fancy restaurants), the price is very affordable, and the room is clean and cozy. Everyone here is so friendly and helpful, especially Steve himself. He is always smile and trying to solve any problems of the guests. He speaks good English, it's quite helpful in a Spanish-speaking city! I'd like to recommend the place to all of my friends. Don't miss the bar in the hotel! Delicious and affordable too.
Our stay in Si mi captain was fantastic ! Pablo is a devoted person and will do everything to fullfil’ your needs ! He is silly a wonderful person ! The swimming pool was perfect after a day spent at the falls under 40 degrees. It’s a must for us if your start in puerto iguazu! Finally the location is perfect everything feasible by foot ( bus station , restaurants , shops , money exchange , SIM card ) . We recommend so mi captain!
The hotel is modern and comfortable with a great rooftop deck for watching sunsets. The breakfast was generous and tasty. The driver they set us up with for picking us up at the airport was very nice and he also drove us to the park the next day as well as to the Brazilian side on the following day. The front desk staff were very helpful.
Booked for a one night budget stay on the Argentina side of Iguazu falls. The hotel worked for what we needed. Many of the guests seemed to be staying at the hotel for the pool – which was nice. Quite a few families. The employees at the reception were helpful and pleasant. The room was clean. The air conditioning worked great.
Loved everything! Beautiful hotel completely in nature. Beautiful room. Lovely, fresh, homemade breakfast every morning. Hector was a perfect host, so caring and helpful. He helped us get to Iguazu Falls, how to access the bus and generally get around Puerto Iguazu. Thank you for such an amazing stay, we didn't want to leave!
We really enjoyed our stay at Hospedaje Jose Gorgues! It's just a few minutes walking to the busstation and the centre of Iguazu. All the restaurants are nearby. Daniel is a great host and tells you everything you need to know for your stay in Puerto Iguazu.
This is a beautiful B&B on the edge of town. It is stylish and very comfortable, plus a 10-minute walk to restaurants. Pablo is a great host — very helpful and kind. He gave us a lot of information about how best to see the Falls from Argentina and Brazil.
There are two appartments in the family house yard, the host was very kind and assisting, quiet area, close to the city center, bus stop to Iguazu falls of Argentina park and of Brazil park is just 2 minutes walk. There is near by supermarket.
Highly recommend Tré! Gorgeous, super clean hotel in great condition. Breakfast was delicious and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was really spacious and comfortable. Big pool and pretty grounds. We were sad to leave.
The breakfast was very good. Almost every day they bring the best chipa we ever had!
The hotel is very conveniently located just by the bus terminal in downtown Puerto Iguazú.
The hotel staff is friendly and helpful.
The hotel is nearby the terminal from where you can take a bus to visit Argentinian or Brazilian side of the waterfalls. There is a vitiate of breakfast options and even oats are served. The beds are just excellent.
Helpful staff. Surprisingly good in-house restaurant, so practical in a town with not much to do at night and in the middle of a national “dengue” warning, when you do not want to leave the hotel at night.
Located next to the bus station, very convenient to go to the falls in both Brazil and Argentina sides. The host kindly arranged taxi for airport pickup/send off for us, which was very convenient.
The hotel staff was very nice and very willing to help in any situation regarding the visit of the Iguazu waterfalls or restaurants in town. The breakfast was good and the room also.
I like the proximity to the Iguazu falls. You can also see part of the falls from the hotel. Comfortable hotel with decent food. The food service staff at the restaurant were good.
