We had a car from Salzburg, and it took about 80 minutes to drive to Kitzbühel. We went there for skiing and we were not disappointed. The ski lift is about a 5–10 minute walk from the hotel. The town itself is lovely, old buildings coupled with modern shopping. There's plenty of choices for restaurants and bars. We mainly ate at our restaurant, but there are other places to eat. It's a nice place to walk around, although some of the roads do not have footpaths. We would definitely come here again.

A pretty town with a Christmas market from 1 December.
A pretty town with a Christmas market from 1 December. It seemed like we were a bit pre season so some shops/bars/cafes not open yet.
Easy to navigate and hilly as you’d expect and get to by train from Innsbruk. Locals all very good English speaking and English menus - puts us to shame. Food at the top of cable car was good,

Kitzbühel - yes, there are better ski areas.
Kitzbühel - yes, there are better ski areas. Yes, I believe there are better resorts for apres-ski but as an all round, friendly, traditional, fun resort there is no better. Over 80 experiences of the town in summer and winter has given me a bit of a head start on first timers - you will not be disappointed.

While this town is best known for alpine skiing (the world-...
While this town is best known for alpine skiing (the world-famous Hahnenkammrennen downhill takes place here) it is equally awesome in the summer! The town is alive and has myriad activities to do, from hiking to cycling to simply hanging out at local restaurants, bars, and clubs. The cable car system can take you anywhere, and one of the best activities is to hike down the famous Streif alpine racing course (i.e. the Hahnenkamm), which takes about 2.5-3 hours. If you have time take a lunch break during the hike at the Seidelalm Hutte, where the food and drink are plentiful and the views perfect. In town there are many fabulous places to eat, drink, and shop. If you want the full Hahnenkamm experience make a late-night stop at The Londoner Pub, where the winner of the downhill ski race tends bar the evening after their victory (it's a lot less raucous in the summer but it's still a great place to go for a beer). The entire town is walkable - no car necessary - and frequent ÖBB train service makes this place accessible from major cities (e.g. Innsbruck, Salzburg, Vienna, Munich).

The ski resort is perfect for skiers.
The ski resort is perfect for skiers. However, I'm a snowboarder and have been in ones that are better. The snowparks are very small and on the side the mountains that have much less slopes. To cross to the bigger area you need to cross the river and town (about 15min walk).
This was an amazing hotel! The beautiful location at the foot of the mountain and at walking distance (downhill :) from Kitzbuhel centre, the cosy room(next time we would like a bigger one!), the views, the gardens, the rich and tasty breakfast (9 types of honey!), the spa but ABOVE ALL the staff with their attention to detail and care for all our needs!! Special thanks to Patricia at reception and the entire team of all the ladies and gentlement for everything they did to make this trip a memorable one! We will come back!!!
The hotel is perfectly located, just a short work to the Hahnenkammbahn lift and train station, as well as a short work into the Centre of the town. There are plenty of nice restaurants close to the hotel and the staff were always helpful in recommending different options. The breakfast was really good, full spread of warm and cold options. The staff were extremely polite and friendly. Having the ski gear rental shop next door, plus having a boot room to store all ski gear in the hotel is a massive bonus.
We absolutely loved our stay!!! one of the best places to stay in Kitzbühel. you are right on the mountain so you can be the first on the slopes every day. The hut has a really fun vibe and really great food. It’s a mountain hut so definitely way more rustic but worth it for the location. We had a private room which was worth it in my opinion. One helpful note is that is that the gondola closes at 5pm and that’s the only way up. You can head up after 3pm for free with a valid lift ticket for the next day.
Central location with access off the main street. Excellent views of the Hahnenkamm mountain and piste from our room and the breakfast room and the hotel is only a short walk to the lift station.
Breakfast is excellent and served in a lovely traditional room which is immaculate. The Hotel bar and restaurant is adjoined by a door operated by your room key, it is more modern, lively and a very enjoyable space to eat and drink until late.
The Hotel and bar staff are excellent.
The room was lovely - big, huge balcony, views, quiet end-of hallway location. The pool was incredible!! So magical doing laps while huge snowflakes fell on the glass roof. The naked sauna was an experience, but as they say, when in Rome ;) Breakfast was amazing, one of the best during our stay in Europe/UK. Free treats at reception were an added bonus :) The hotel is a little out of town but we loved the snowy trail, it's an easy walk and helped walk off our dinner!
Erika's chalet was perfectly located next to all the key ski lifts, restaurants and bus/train stations in the area. The house is equipped with everything you could possibly need and is a very cute cosy space. Anton was super responsive and was always there to help us whenever we needed him. I would be definitely booking this place for my next ski vacation to kitzbuhel and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a hassle free, comfy stay.
Excellent stay at Hotel Resch. Our room was spacious, modern, beds were very comfortable. It’s right next to the center of town. The breakfast was top quality, the usual offerings (ham eggs bread) and more (smoked salmon, large selection of cheese, fresh berries etc.). Management were lovely, upgraded our room (without us asking) and were always helpful and friendly. Highly recommend. Would stay again.
The location was perfect - close to the town and ski lift. The hotel had great facilities and was very convenient. Breakfast and dinner had a great variety of options and the service was excellent. I would also like to thank Sarah at front desk who went above and beyond to ensure that my family and I have an exceptional experience
Great family owned and oriented hotel. Everyone who works there was so friendly. Good restaurant, very nice when it’s light outside with the glass roof. Our suite had great views of the mountains. Very well maintained historic property. Close to the main walkable areas of Kitzbühel.
Very friendly and professional staff across all areas. Delicious and imaginative food for both breakfast and dinner. Only 10-15 minutes walk from Hahnenkamm cable car with shuttle available each morning taking only 5 minutes. Very well run hotel
Everything was wonderful from start to finish. All staff that we encountered were first class. The hotel is tastefully decorated and immaculately clean. Breakfast was one of the best we have experienced, what a great selection and high quality.
Everything !!! A cozy 5 star Hotel which allowed me to bring my dog ( 2kg). Room was exceptional, very good breakfast! Personal all very Kind ! Dinner very nice and not expensive! Even the owner was working !
The place is fantastic, like museum inside, but the most best thing there is the owner, Mrs Rosemarie, she is so kind and polite, and she make the best brekfast in Austria for sure....
Clean and tidy, friendly staff. Breakfast is all right, but the room is very basic. Walk about 10 minutes to the town centre. Hotel is well decorated though it is old.
staff were the best we have ever experienced, especially Laura at front desk who was so professional and so helpful. we would go out of our way to stay here again!
