Billabong Zoo is a must see when visiting Port Macquarie.
Billabong Zoo is a must see when visiting Port Macquarie. The zoo is easy to get around and can book personal up close encounters with some of the animals such as Koalas, meerkats, red pandas, snow leopards, cheetahs, little monkeys and if you are game snakes. The highlight for me is always the Meerkats. For the little ones you can get food to feed the kangaroos. Lunch at the zoo was very reasonably priced and delicious.
Sea Acres boardwalk through the rainforest followed by morning tea or lunch should also go on the list.
Westport Bowling Club is great value for money for dinner and a lovely club overlooking the Hastings River.
For a lovely Sunday afternoon drink with live entertainment head to The Beach House in the Royal Hotel overlooking the Hastings River.

Loved the emphasis on wildlife especially koalas. Visited koala hospital and Sea Acres. Beautiful. Town had all the shops you'd want...some good clothing shops and Book Face. Also loved Hello Koala shop.

Very clean. Great location.
Very clean. Great location. Very quiet considering we were on the ground floor close to the street. It seemed that the bathroom had been recently renovated as it looked quite modern.
We were in a large 4WD, so parking was a bit tight. Undercover parking was available but we had to remove our aerial (which was not a problem.)
Would definitely stay here again for an overnight stop.

The beautiful scenery around the river & beaches.
The beautiful scenery around the river & beaches. Town Beach for a swim was perfect. Good seafood & chips at Lighthouse Beach fish & chip shop. Old RSL Club was perfect for our evening meal with good facilities & a great view of the river.
Port Macquarie is easy to get around by car or on foot. Even though our visit was in school holidays it wasn't too busy or overcrowded.
Good fishing, boat hire was reasonably priced. Lovely parks & gardens.
Amazing accommodation. My partner and I stayed at Sandcastles for a week and it was the best stay in Port Macquarie. We had the one bedroom with the balcony ocean view. The apartment was updated and the bed was comfy. Directly across from the apartments is Town Beach. From there you can walk into the main part of town or go for an afternoon stroll along the boardwalk hoping to see dolphins. Security is fantastic and the parking is secure as well. Also at the back of the apartments is Port City bowling club where the meals are very delicios
Large room with a small balcony with a nice view of the skyline. The room was really clean with all the facilities you'd need including a large fridge and counter space. Good local information. Was an unplanned stop in a stunning location. Port MacQuarie's beaches are extremely beautiful and the town is lively with lots of eating and leisure options. Highly recommend visiting here if you're on the east coast. Beach was a short walk from the hotel
Very friendly and helpful receptionist at check-in, providing info. about Port Macquarie and booking a taxi to take me back to the coach station very early in the morning. Quite reliable. The WiFi in the room worked very well, quite fast and the kitchenette supplies in the room were good.
Beach was quite a distance from the caravan park. Cabins could do with a reno, lounge and bed uncomfortable. Hot water in short supply many cold showers. Good size kitchen - well equipped. Nice park with lots of trees and birds.
All the facilities were up to the level you'd expect from a Rydges hotel. This particular one has the calmness of the waterfront over one side and the shopping options over the other one, perfectly located.
Great location in Port Macquarie from which we could do the coastal walk from, cafes at hotel and nearby. Clean modern king room with park & ocean view. Great bathroom & shower water pressure great.
The apartment was basic but perfect for us as we only stayed one night. It was really good value and so cheap and perfectly located.
We didn't get chance to use the pool but it looked lovely.
beautiful hotel with spacious room, comfortable beds, lovely view. great pool area overlooking the river. nice restaurant on site for breakfast and dinner. staff were lovely and helpful.
Wonderful location poised between the river and the c.b.d. of Port Macquarie. Water views from the balcony and a very comfortable bed are two big plusses for any traveller.
