Port Fairy is a pretty little town. I loved the historic buildings especially the timber cottages. The town is obviously cherished by its inhabitants and pride is taken in its presentation and history. There are some great places to eat in Port Fairy.
We had hoped to do some walking along the path by the river and around Griffith island. My husband has Parkinson’s and uses a walker for balance. We did some walking but we’re limited because the path along the river is broken by stairs to the footbridge over the river and the start of the Griffith island path is wonderful but deteriorates to rough gravel. Port Fairy is a great place to visit - especially if you appreciate a very good golf course. The town has great historical interest and is well appointed for tourists. This part of Victoria is very exposed to the weather so the traveller needs to check the weather in advance and take clothes to suit.

Port fairy is a beautiful, quiet and very much upmarket town with excellent shops, cafes and one or two good looking restaurants. There are peaceful, interesting nature walks and a picturesque wharf and boardwalk.
Gorgeous!

We visited Port Fairy as part of a drive along the Great Ocean Road in November 2023. We really loved the place. Very walkable. We particularly enjoyed the waterfront along the Moyne River and the wildlife on Griffiths Island. Had a lovely and good value meal at Alexo Pizza and Bistro (and the robot waiter was a real novelty). My wife said the coffee and cake at the Mill (across the road from Alexo) was some of the best she had ever tasted. The East Beach was miles of glorious sand. Would have loved to stay longer, but we had to get to Hall’s Gap in the Grampians. We did stop at nearby Tower Hill on the way north, but didn’t really have time to do that justice. Can’t wait to visit again, but not sure when that will be as we live thousands of miles away in the UK.
We were doing the great ocean road and we stopped one night in the charming fishing village of Port Fairy and we discovered this authentic hostel. We fell in love with the village and the hostel! If you're looking for authentic, rustic and simple accommodation, you'll love it! We also saw lots of kangaroos on the walk to the lighthouse on Griffiths Island. I recommend ! 😍
Loved the rural countryside atmosphere and cute cottage typical of Port Fairy.
The bed linen was crisp & fresh.
it’s perfect for families with kids as the playground is right outside the front door.
Better than a hotel or motel as it’s your place for your length of stay. Would have liked to have stayed longer, one night was too short.
Oscars Waterfront Boutique Hotel is superb with facilities that are clean, comfortable and so welcoming. The care and attention to detail within and around the Hotel and its rooms was well above our expectations. The Hotel's manager Andriana was very friendly and obliging. The breakfasts she prepared were so very tasty and filling.
I absolutely loved port fairy and so thrilled that I picked this little town to stay in and not somewhere else. It is absolutely charming and the rose of Norfolk pines are some of the best or actually the best I have seen in Australia. Full of Birdsong and wildlife. I really loved this location.
the location was excellent to the beach, & to the caravan park-. where the rest of our group was staying. We did enjoy our stay in Port Fairy & the facilities the town offered. The units were clean & convenient & comfortable, which was all we wanted ,thank you.
Great location, plenty of space and well presented. A home away from home really. Perfect if you wanted to stay a while. Garage is a bonus although not necessary. Water bottles were a nice touch as I had forgotten how different the water tastes in Port Fairy!
The location on East Beach was superb - watching the waves crash in from the upstairs picture windows as fantastic. The house was very well appointed with all kitchen items you could ask for plus a Weber Q BBQ as well. The new large screen TV's was a bonus.
Really friendly staff, the hotel room was dated, beds were comfy. Bathroom was really bad and old. Mould on tiles. Very small bathroom. Hot water took a long time to come out. Room was adequate and cheap but not sure I’d stay there again.
The location was good—-we could walk to town. Port Fairy was a nice town with beautiful flowers. Julia was very friendly and accommodating. The cottage had everything we needed and was clean. It was fun to feed the alpacas.
Wonderfully designed and renovated hotel. Cool design and very spacious "bridal suite". Friendly staff. Wonderful breakfast provided just around the corner at one of the local cafes. Best place to stay in Port Fairy.
A beautiful colonial cottage that has everything you need. The house and garden make for a lovely place to stay while you explore Port Fairy, and Dianne was extremely helpful. Highly recommended.
Staff were friendly, location was excellent - close to Griffiths Island and an easy stroll into the town of Port Fairy (which is a delightful place). The breakfast was absolutely delicious.
Position is exceptional for this renovated triple fronted brick veneer property 150 metres from Port Fairy’s Eastern Beach, surfing, swimming, bird watching. Pet friendly, comfortable,

On the.outskirts of Port Fairy yet an easy 20 minute walk to the Main Street.
