I recommend staying at Jindabyne for the summer and winter seasons. The drive to Thredbo is a quick drive. The roads are cleared in snow season, we didn’t need to use the chains. Parking is easy and there’s free busses to the ski lifts. No need to stay in Thredbo. Jindabyne is much cheaper and has restaurants and the supermarket. I would never stay in Thredbo again. The supermarket is tiny and expensive in Thredbo. We stayed on the lake in a cabin which was perfect. We go for mountain biking in the summer and snowboarding in winter.

Jindabyne is a nice and quiet place to have a short break during the summer. The lake is good for water activities, and being positioned at the foot of the mountains means day trips to Thredbo and Perisher/Charlotte Pass is an easy run. There are plenty of places still open to eat and a full supermarket for any other needs. There are also other activities going on in Jindabyne and the Snowy Mountains through the summer, so google to see what's on and when.

Jindabyne is like a poor cousin toQueenstown NZ.
Jindabyne is like a poor cousin toQueenstown NZ. Nothing much happens off-season, but it is picturesque and a great jumping off point to Kosciouszko National Park. There's a little coffee shop, Jindabyne F2, very good hot chocolate. But the brasserie at Banjo Patterson on the main drag was disappointing. And the carpark at Nugget's Crossing Shopping Centre is a nightmare.

It was a great place to stay although a warning when planning a trip for those on blood thinning medication, please factor in the altitude may have an effect on you!! It did for me with breathing and pressure on my body, although each person is unique and may be affected in different ways. You might not have any problems, just be aware of the possibility.
Beautiful views, great walking track around the lake and lovely sights of Thredbo and Perisher not far away.

It was a very scenic place. Good place for ski hire.
It was a very scenic place. Good place for ski hire. The only let down was the restaurants. They were too expensive like $28 for 10 pieces of pasta with only pasta. The Japanese restaurant need a booking to enter.

You cant take a connecting flight or a bus in this location...
You cant take a connecting flight or a bus in this location account for an extra day of travel because you need a car in this location public transport is real bad, tubes/trains and buses don't connect to get to Perisher. its actually ridicules
Staff were all lovely, included breakfast was good hot and continental. Location was also good. Room was tiny for a family of 4 and feel it was overpriced for what we got. When we booked there weren’t many option left in town, but as snow is disappearing, looks like others had cancelled as looks like we could have stayed elsewhere much cheaper for similar or better accomodation but hadn’t thought to check until it was too late to cancel.
Location, closer to all amenities and a very clean house. It's a home away from home. Kitchen is very well equipped - slow cooker, four slice toaster, measuring spoons for baking, every little thing you need in a kitchen is there for you. Heaven for a cook like me ! On top of that, you can see the mighty Jindabyne lake while sipping tea in the morning (or evening) albeit standing. And a huge plus plus - 20 steps away from a brewery.
We stayed for two nights, using Jindabyne as a base for exploring the area. Highly recommend this accomodation. The staff are lovely and extremely helpful. It was very good value and the price included a very nice breakfast. It is also within walking distance of the shopping centre and places to eat.
Modern pleasant space. Cosy and comfy. Nice bed and pillows. All the amenities you need plus parking. Ive tried multiple hotels and motels in Jindy over the last few years and this is quite easily the best place I've stayed, even if its a bit further away from the town centre.
The stay was excellent. Banjo staff was very friendly, including the in house restaurant staff. Beautiful view from the hotel balcony and the town centre was right next to Banjo. Will definitely stay here on my next visit.
The location is fantastic, very central to Jindabyne town centre. The accommodation itself is very cosy, great fireplace with really good lake views! The beds are super comfortable and blankets very warm :)
The apartment is in a great location, walking distance to the town centre and the lake. It is a large space comfortably fitting two families. It is clean and has all basic cooking and pantry staples.
the location was pretty good. walking distance from everything. I like that the bungalow is separated from the rest of the apartments, made us feel like being noisy wasn't going to bother anyone.
everything you need. super relaxed, not a 5 star hotel but you get what you pay for that’s the deal. great for a group of mates who want a convenient joint to stay at on the cheap.
Loved that they had a guest kitchen on site to use, so made it a bit cheaper grabbing something from the local supermarket and taking it back to cook was great 👍🏻
The breakfast is awesome, plenty of good food. The rooms have a fabulous lake view. Jindabyne is at a strategic location for those aiming for the snowy mountains.
Excellent location - quick trip into Jindabyne and to either of the main ski resorts.
Great cafe attached to the park
Good size cabin, well heated and appointed
