Shoal bay has always been a holiday destination for us.
Shoal bay has always been a holiday destination for us. Been many times over the years and it never disappoints. My kids loved it and now the grandkids love the ease of getting to all amenities. The beach is just across the road. Shops within walking distance. Fresh air and wonderful selection is cafes and ice cream shops. The country club is our favourite place to get a great meal. We hired a canoe and paddled out to the beautiful turquoise waters. Can't explain it you have to experience it yourself.AAnonymous - 8.0Scored 8.0

Love the coastal area. Minimal traffic, high rise and not over developed. Beautiful beaches with blue tranquil water. Definitely Not a surfing beach. White sand . Seems like a very safe area. Good places to eat. Try the Country Club for a great meal or afternoon cocktails . Also the Atmos Greek Restaurant was very nice. 5 mins drive to Little Bay Boathouse a great restaurant we lived. 10 minutes to the larger town of Nelson Bay if you want to shop, dine, or need anything. It was a beautiful place, what would be good is a place to hire beach chairs. I didn't go to beach cause I can't sit without chair.Transport to airport was great right out side door nearly and cheap, bus driver helped put cases on and off.Kelly - 10Scored 10

The shower head in the ensuite need improved. Would be nice if proper bedside tables in the ensuite. Need some cereal bowls in the kitchen. The whole apartment is well equipped and well maintained. Nearby we visited Koala Santuary, Shark & Ray Encounters , Gan Gan lookout, Bob's farm Murray and nearby bay and beaches. Very nice scenery. I'm very pleased of the stay. Will book again.

The property was also very easy to find, especially considering we have never been to Shoal Bay before. Nice view of the bay with only a single row of shops in front/below. We have two toddlers and specifically chose this unit over others with similar facilities because little ones could enjoy the view from the balcony with glass balustrade - it exceeded our expectations with bay views from the lounge room and main bedroom also.JessicaAustralia

The location of the house was good, walking distance to Shoal Bay beach and shops, plus an easy walk over to Box & Wreck Beach (a bit more adventurous but worth the walk down to the beach). BBQ and Kitchen set up was good, plenty of cooking utensils and basic pantry items to get by. Plenty of on street parking. The air conditioning worked well and the bathrooms were clean and spacious. The bedrooms were also a good size.
