Sapphire Ridge is one of Tropical North Queensland's best kown luxury holiday houses. Perched high above Palm Cove on 40 acres of lush forest nd exotic gardens, Sapphire Ridge has sweeping views of the Great Barrier Reef, from Double Island to Cairns. This luxurious residence in its idyllic setting is the perfect retreat - a tranquil, private and serene escape from the stress of city living. Perfect for families, like-minded friends or small intimate weddings, the property features a pavilion style living room, expansive timer decks and glass-fenced heated pool, exemplifying the finest in indoor/outdoor living. Spectacular views of the Coral Sea can be enjoyed from the living room, dining room, thatch roof gazebo and even the gourmet kitchen - brilliant at dawn, awesome with a full moon at night. Sapphire Ridge is the perfect retreat in a special part of the world.
Raised in the colder climes of Melbourne in the south of Australia, I moved to Tropical North Queensland a decade ago to manage my property as a holiday let and to enjoy the relaxed lifestyle and fantastic weather that is so much a part of this beautiful part of the world. I have now overseen several renovations of the house with new facilities being added nearly every year. Currently it is the garden that is undergoing a makeover experimenting with a green vertical wall and a tropical fruit orchard the latest projects. My partner, Terry and I are keen travellers and with children and grandchildren dotted around the world we are fortunate to be able to indulge this passion.
Palm Cove is situated 20 minutes north of Cairns International Airport, halfway between the city of Cairns and Port Douglas. It is a vibrant village with restaurants, cafes, boutiques, galleries and day spas with a cosmopolitan persona that is unique to Tropical North Queensland. The adjacent Clifton Beach Shopping Centre includes a supermarket, pharmacy, butcher and greengrocer as well as specialty stores for all your requirements. Palm Cove is known for it's jetty which kids love and fishermen revere. Amazing dive and snorkel trips of the Great Barrier Reef are available with tours departing daily from Cairns and Port Douglas with pick-ups in Palm Cove.The World Heritage-listed Rain Forest and many other attractions are just a short drive away. For golf-lovers, the nearby Paradise Palms Country Club is one of Australia's leading golf courses and visitors are welcome. Palm Cove is renowned as the wedding capital of Australia.
