We did the short river cruise which was very interesting.
Lots of good dining facilities in and around Launceston.
Great motor Museum for car lovers.
Enjoyed our time in the City Park - definitely worth devoting a few hours.
Another location we enjoyed was the Cataract Gorge.

Be sure where you stay what they say Is what you get.
Be sure where you stay what they say Is what you get. Look for value for money. Make sure you are aware some properties do want their money days before you arrive and not on arrival. Stay central to access in walking distance to businesses.
Look up parking, locations etc before trekking out.

Just a short review of penny royal.
Just a short review of penny royal. There were notes of charges of 250 to get room cleaned. I didn’t ask if that was extra cleans Launceston seem a pleasant reasonably small city. Suited me fine. Had a wonderful day with family we ate a a bar in Charles street over from target. Beautiful food. Even burgers I normally wouldn’t eat were delicious. Sorry I can’t recall the name. But it was loverly and we sat outside an had a drink and shopped for a couple of hours
We stayed at penny royal. Very unusual and quaint. A lover very happy would go back

Beautiful old buildings everywhere, friendly people, walkable and lots to see and do. Great food and shopping. All meals memorable from coffee shops to restaurants. Fantastic made in Tasmania offerings available from food to furniture.
Had a memorable trip to Josef Cromney winery to do a tasting and lunch, would highly recommend. Taxi required to get there around $30 each way, but worth it. We did both a paddling and boat trip on the river both of which were good, and a separate full day wine tour which was also enjoyable.

Launceston is a great place for a holiday.
Launceston is a great place for a holiday. You can easily do day trips from Launceston to other places, including to Hobart. The Gorge is always a great place to visit and the cruise on the river was very relaxing.
A walk around the gardens and visiting the monkey exhibit is well worth the time. One of the keepers came out and happily chatted and shared information about the monkeys and the exhibit.
Visiting some of the towns which are only a hour away provides rich lessons in the history of European settlement in Tasmania.

Highly recommend taking your bathers during the warmer months to Cataract Gorge you can swim in the pool or the body of water, wish I knew that!! Not much to the actual city itself but it was easy to access and park, we had a hire car which was easy to navigate. The kayaking tour was awesome fun and another recommendation. Would have loved an extra couple of days.
Old Heritage Building refurbished beautifully, so comfortable and relaxing, CLEAN and GRAND. Owners Tom & Bec have clearly made a successful career change from Accounting to Classy Hoteliers, well done and well done to your Staff that obviously work hard to present such a beautiful place to stay. Free gifts are a lovely gesture, complete breakfast and onsite parking a big bonus. Our new place to stay when visiting Launceston, thanks Folks :))
The staff at Balmoral were incredible, always very welcoming and on hand to assist. I had a later check in upon arrival and this was no issue - and each morning they were there to assist with the breakfast - which as a bonus inclusion - as well as any requests. The rooms were neat and tidy and location is perfectly within the Launceston CBD.
Nothing at all it was not the hotel that we booked. Hotel Launceston has been converted into an office block.
After spending 1.5 hours trying to find the hotel having seen the original hotel Launceston in the centre of town we had to enquire with the locals to find where we were to stay.
The location is great central to the town, food and transport and the monkeys are just at the end of the road. They are so cute. Launceston and its surrounds have so much to offer and the HGC is a perfect base to see them all. And the hotel's restraunt is wonderful.
The room was very comfortable and felt quite luxurious. Facilities in the bathroom and bedroom were good. The hotel was well situated for accessing the Cascade or the restaurants in Launceston. Parking was easy and I felt comfortable that our car was safe.
The location adjacent to the Penny Royal activities was great. We could see the activities from our room. Kings bridge hotel was wonderful with good history and food. Staff were helpful and friendly. Location was convenient to Launceston CBD.
We had a room with one double and 4 singles (as bunks) which was perfect for our family. The room was very well presented, clean and the view across Launceston afforded plenty of light and fresh air. Location was very handy too.
The rooms have been refurbished since I stay last time a few years ago. The bathroom was much more modern and nicely refubished. Rooms seem the have new colour schemes too. The hotel itself was lovely.
The beautiful art decor feel and wonderful art work that adorned the walls. The location was superb with walking distance into the beautiful city of Launceston. Friendly Hosts and very welcoming.
Lovely simple hotel room with a good view over Launceston. Reception was very helpful. Double glazed windows brilliant, so a very quiet room. Free parking immediately next to the building.
This is a clean, well-presented hotel with good amenity. Overall, reasonably well located to the wharf precinct in Launceston however a little less convenient to the heart of the CBD.
Great hotel - modern industrial styling throughout. Clean, comfortable, new and a fantastic base to explore Launceston. Every staff member we met was happy, helpful and friendly.
