Located in the Flemish region of Belgium, the beautiful medieval city of Ghent is not only a city of history, but also a romantic place
to visit. The city is full of hidden historical, cultural and culinary gems that you can easily discover.
The Gravensteen or 'Castle of the Count' is a deceptively enchanting sight dating back to the Middle Ages. Constructed by Philip of Alsace, the count of Flanders, it's partially surrounded by a moat and beautifully restored, and hosts an interesting museum about the history of prison life.
Part of the UNESCO World Heritage list, the Belfry of Ghent is a medieval tower overlooking the Old Town centre. Saint Bavo Cathedral and Saint Nicholas' Church are the city's other two towers, with St. Nicholas' Church being one of the oldest landmarks in Ghent (known as Gent in Flemish).
Enjoy a relaxing walk in the picturesque medieval streets and stop at one of the charming traditional restaurants for Belgium beer and a classic Flemish meat stew with French fries. Local delicacies include the popular Belgium chocolate and the purple jelly-filled candies called the 'noses'.
Antwerp International Airport is 52 km away, while Brussels Airport is 55 km. Just book your hotel, guest house, apartment, or B&B through Booking.com and discover everything this stunning city has to offer.
Ghent has everything you could possibly want. Culture, history, entertainment, hospitality, sport & relaxation, nature, exploration and discovery. It combines a local, historical attitude with an internationally minded atmosphere and is inclusive and tolerant towards all who choose to coexist peacefully.
Additionally, Ghent is the perfect homebase for visits to other places all over Europe. It is more affordable than the major capitals, offers more peace and quiet while still providing everything you could want. In aproximately 3 hours in either direction you are within reach of a vast number of major cities in Europe.

What a magical city 😍 one of the most scenic cities I've ever stepped foot in.
I will definitely want to visit again. The food was amazing, the history was enticing, and everything was within walking distance which was perfect. You have to eat at Vier Tafals! Some of the best food I had on vacation and the chef was the sweetest man ever. You can taste the passion in his cooking.
Also, do the audio tour at Gravensteen Castle. The audio guide was historical with comedy laced in. One of the best audio tours I've ever been on.

The atmosphere is relaxed, fantastic, especially in the sunshine but also in the rain. It is a little hidden gem, we appreciated that everything was within walking distance. Impeccable transports. The lighting at night is magical, the small places neat and characterful, many look like something out of a fantasy novel. Cruise on the Lys was pleasant and interesting, a good way to know the city from another perspective. Great food, and a crazy art shop!

Ghent is just a beautiful city.
Ghent is just a beautiful city. It's actually one of my favourite cities to visit for a short break. Historical gorgeous city centre. I recommend visiting during the "Gentse feesten". A long weekend full of festivities with events held through out the city. Although I might just choose to do a day visit in that occassion as it can be really busy. I love the fact that even though there are big crowds during that time, there seems to be no disturbances that I'm used to seeing at such events elsewhere. Take a boat ride on the canals, visit the cathedral and bell tower. By chance discovered a couple of city palaces that are open to the public, which are well worth a look. Good food everywhere. What is there not to like really?

Fabulous city with lots to see. Very compact so easy to walk to everything Buildings are beautiful and would recommend the Cathedral, the Bell tower and Gravenstein castle. . The audio guide is hilarious, just like,"horrible histories" There are numerous museums.
City has wonderful shops, fashion, gifts and more chocolate shops than you could ever want. Have to indulge in Frites and mayonnaise, waffles, and thick hot chocolate.

"The Ghent altar paintings" were tremendous and should be seen. We were there for the Light festival which was well worth experiencing. Plenty of walking but forget the car and put it in the public garage. Ours was €15 for just under 24 hours. If you enjoy walking there is plenty to see, both old and new.
Kris is a fantastic host, very welcoming and as a Ghent local is an expert on the city. I received some great advice about key attractions and places to eat, as well as some of the history of Ghent and Belgium. The room was super cosy and with a nice view of the south side of the city. Breakfast was fabulous, testament to Kris’ exceptional hospitality! Would highly recommend for couples/solo travellers. It’s also near the beautiful Citadelpark and the university botanic gardens, which I definitely recommend for a place to relax :)
The location of the hotel was perfect for us as we were wanting to explore historic Ghent. The rooms were clean, smaller in size but still had enough room for 2 people. The view from the room was nice as well. The breakfast in the morning was buffet style and had a good variety. The hours of the breakfast buffet were nice as we were able to sleep in a little and not have to rush to get breakfast in the morning. Overall, we enjoyed this hotel.
The property was built in 1593 by a Spanish marquis, who traded nearby. This fact alone would be enough to impress me, but in addition the staff is very friendly, the interior makes you feel like you're visiting a nobleman, and the location could not be better.
I spent around 20 days travelling in France, Belgium, and the Netherlands, and Ghent was the city that impressed me most. Erasmus Hotel was one of the reasons for it.
For Belgium it was a good price and quility combination, I loved that there was a bath and not only shower as usually. The room had everything we needed, kettle etc. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Surrounding was quiet enough, the street traffic outside wasn't too noisy. Cafe's and restaurants around were cheaper and better than in the center.
Compared to other hotels in Ghent, the price of this hotel fee is pretty reasonable. Our room was very quiet and there are one big supermarket very close to the hotel, so it is very easy to go shopping from the hotel. Ghelamco Arena is also close from the hotel, so it is quite convenient place to enjoy soccer matches in Ghent.
The hotel is in a good location, not far from the city centre as well as not far from Ghent second railway station (I appreciated the staff suggestions on which stations I should use to visit Bruges and Antwerp, which I did). The room and the bathroom are very large and of good quality. Breakfast options were ok.
The view is phenomenal in the most amazing part of Ghent. The room is lovely and well stocked with free wine and drinks. The breakfast was personalized and gorgeous with incredible fresh croissants and breads and flowers. It is a tiny little hotel added on by a friendly restauranteur. Too notch place!
Staff was very friendly and explained it was cheaper to pay for a few hours in the street instead of parking at the hotel facility. The next day trams were free to use! So these are very nice tips and tricks to hear.
The hotelroom was clean and fine for our one night visit!!
Beautiful historic hotel in the city center of Ghent. All major attractions are walkable from the hotel and the neighborhood is very charming. Hotel room was very clean and renovated with thought of the historic features. Very friendly staff and great breakfast!
I stayed two nights in enchanting Ghent and will come back. Maybe to dance Hotel. Hotel location is great, tram stop nearby, center of town, many eateries walking distance. Staff are friendly and rooms are clean . They have elevator/lift.
Superb location within a 5 min walk to the heart of Ghent. In a great neighbourhood with loads of trendy bars and cafes. An extremely well-designed building that feels just like home, but with all the touches of a boutique hotel.
The location of the hotel was central and allowed us to walk everywhere. The hotel food was sensational and the bed in our room felt like sleeping on a cloud! If we come back to Ghent, we will definitely choose your hotel again!
Studio was clean which is normal in Belgium !
Bed was comfortable.
Coffee machine in the room.
Good free parking next to the road.
A bakery close by to buy breakfast.
Small sauna in the room.
Cool, comfy hotel well located in the heart of Ghent. The room was very well set up, the bed was super comfortable and the shower was large and well set up.
Ticks all boxes - great hotel located in the center of Ghent. Very good breakfast and very polite team working in the hotel. Well done and see you again!
