This was my first visit, but hopefully not my last. The hotel, grounds, and staff were exceptional. Quite wonderful beyond my expectations. The hotel is a little gem in the middle of a beautiful and historic city. I can't say enough positive things about my experience.
Costeiro is just a 15-minute walk from Olinda historical town, which was named a world heritage by UNESCO. The hotel offers a swimming pool in its courtyard with ocean views.

Great location and beautiful home !
We felt welcomed by the hosts who were very attentive to our needs. They adapted breakfast to our food restrictions is such a kind way! The room was great too. Love the vibe of the place.

A quaint old building right in the historic part of Olinda. Walk out, turn left and it's all right there! The room was lovely, the pool, the breakfast. We stayed an extra night. We appreciated the motorbike parking. Oh, and there were monkeys!

The WiFi is great so I could work uninterrupted for hours by the pool taking little swim breaks! The people who run it are very kind and attentive, I loved the lady who managed breakfast in the morning she was super sweet!
Tastefully decorated rooms with air conditioning await you at Hotel Pousada São Francisco, a welcoming hotel that lies only 100 metres from the beach in Olinda.

That was the worst place I have booked 21 nights to me and my wife and my baby boy (1y). The room was completely dirty. Everything was dirty. They gave a very dirty bed to my baby boy. I left with my family the same night I came. I COULDN’T SPEND ONE NIGHT THERE.

Baobá is situated in Olinda’s historic centre, famous for its local carnival and as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It offers modern accommodation with balconies and a pool outdoors.
Olinda is odd in that it is lightly populated.
For instance, there are a phenomenal number of churches in a very small area but (I imagine) way less people than there were historically,
The beach is close by and nice.
It is a stark contrast to Recife so close by.
The minor basilica is worth a visit with it’s gold or nation.

I didn't realize that my dates coincided with what is called the "previa", or preview to Carnaval. So this was an unexpected treat in a way! I don't have the tolerance or stamina for actual Carnaval, but being able to partake in and witness the preliminary street festivals was quite fun. Olinda is lovely and so walkable. I do wish that the signage for the historical markers was restored and improved. For example, the Ribeira Market is a local spot for purchasing souvenirs. It also is significant for being the market where enslaved Black people were sold alongside other "commodities". Given that Brazil has the largest percentage of people of African descent in the Americas whose ancestors were enslaved by the Portuguese, this history should NOT be overlooked, "whitewashed" or hidden. One can enjoy the beauty of a place AND acknowledge the painful legacy of enslavement throughout the Americas. Lastly, don't swim in the beaches here. Raw sewage ends up here and you can see this in the brown water. If you want a beach to swim in, head south to Porto de Galinhas.

Charming historic town.
Charming historic town. By total coincidence I was there on a Sunday night in the lead-up to Carnaval, and a local Carnaval team was practicing. Fun to watch. This evidently happens on Sunday nights for at least several weeks (longer?) leading up to Carnaval.

An incredible little haven of peace and beauty next to a buzzling city of Recife. The beaches right in front of the town are not extraordinary but within 10-15 min drive there are large beaches with little bars etc. Like anywhere in Brazil, litter and especially plastic is a problem.

I was disappointed with Olinda for being a well known tourist city in Brazil. Dirty where the beach is distant and without conditions for swimming and with little tourist attraction. Generally speaking I would not go to Recife / Olinda on vacation. The city is also very dangerous, according to residents.

We were there only one night but we enjoyed the Historic Centre and walking up to the lighthouse. The best part was taking a funicular to the treehouse restaurant! A three minute walk from the Convent.
Location and friendly staff.
My husband and I got there a little late in na night, Erica received us really well with an amazing a welcome drink. It was a drink with guava juice and cachaça.
She accommodate us and gave a recommendation of a place to have dinner.
On the following day we had breakfast at the property. Really delicious made with love.
I really enjoyed this night we has there. I wish we had more time to enjoy Olinda and the Pousada dos Quatro Cantos. I highly recommend it ;)
The pousada is extraordinary decorated with art. The staff is very nice and always helpful. The breakfast offers a rich variety of mouthwatering brazilian foods. Our kids enjoyed the relaxed atmoshphere and to play in the swimming pool. Our room was nice and offered plenty of space for 4 persons, the air conditioning worked very well. Within 2 minutes walking distance you can find a nice cafe / restaurant, a super market, a bakery and several providers of local food and even a hairdresser.
I had an amazing stay here! The house is gorgeous – it's beautifully decorated and full of character. I loved opening the windows to enjoy the evening breezes (it is winter at the moment!). My room was very comfortable and had good A/C, hot water, and WIFI. Graça was so helpful in organising my stay and suggesting things to do, and Rita made an amazing breakfast every morning. Olinda is a charming and very easygoing place. I can't wait to come back! Obrigada!
Beautiful hotel, historic Convento on the top of hill.
Room is simple but clean. Breakfast buffet is great. They even make brazil traditional food Tapioca.
Perfect location. In historic zona, has astonishing view. close to everything.
All staffs are so nice. Especially security guard Marcilio. He troduced us the history of this Convento, helped us to order delivery food to enjoy the view in it's own restaurant.
I had a really great experience in the hostel. The property and terrace area were so beautiful—it felt like a hidden oasis! The location was also perfect and very central, but it was still very quiet at night and easy to sleep well. The breakfast and the staff were lovely and everyone I met was kind. I would highly recommend; I can’t think of a better option for a stay in Olinda!
I was very impressed with how well maintained this hotel is. I know how hard the salt air and humidity is on buildings, Hotel Costeiro is not fancy but they have taken care to give this hotel character through the local art on the walls and the old time Olinda furniture in the halls. Breakfast was good and they made some of the best tapioca I've had.
Beautiful location, the hotel is just under the stop where all the tourists stand to get their pics, Raimondo was an incredible host even though he speaks little English, great breakfast and patio, I was very happy with my stay, just wish I could of stayed longer
The beautiful building, the decoration, and the location. Perfect place to explore Olinda as Toni’s in the center of where everything happens. The breakfast is super delicious with all the typical plates and a lot of fruits. Staff very friendly.
Location was great and the pool area very cozy. The massage i enjoyed was good and the restaurant had an average menu and the breakfast was fairly non descript. I think the hotel was fairly empty - low season - but i found the room to be quiet.
Spacious apartment with relaxing terrace and beautiful views over Olinda and the coast to Recife. Great location right next to Alto da Sé square/lookout and Cathedral. Raimundo is a wonderful host with a biography worthy of a Netflix series!
Wonderful location, in the heard of Olinda. We loved the pool in the back with the view of sunset at night. Nice selection for breakfast. Came two years before but I think this time I enjoyed more. The staff were really kind and helpful :D
Perfect location in the old town of Olinda. Everything in walking distance!
Everything was very clean!
Communication was amazing and the hostess gave us a lot of good tips :)
Definitely recommend!
Wonderful people, wonderful welcome and wonderful cafe do manha overlooking a kind of forest inside Olinda. Comfortable rooms and well located. Very good and very charming Barrio Cafe e Bar nearby.
