Niteroi is different from Rio. Is not as touristy or big as Rio de Janeiro, but it preserves much of the good things Rio has. For instance, food can be very cheap or expensive and still you can be surprised with great flavours. The park of the city is a must to visit and see the landscape from the hill, the fortaleza is also worth visiting. From Niteroi you can go to Rio by boat in a one day or two-day trip. But also you can visit other beaches towards the ocean not as populated or touristy as copacabana or Ipanema. If you are looking for a place more quiet and less touristy than Rio de Janeiro, then Niteroi and San Francisco are going to be good choices. No metro or stadiums in Niteroi

Niteroi is about the same distance from the International Airport as the more famous South Zone (Copacabana. Ipanema). The Niteroi Palace Hotel is in town, walking distance from Shopping Centre and the 30 min relaxing ferry boats to Rio City Centre. Very Good nearby "home cooking by weight" lunch only restaurant - ask Desk for simple direction. Few central night-time restaurants, but there are some within (secure) taxi distance. Avoid sitting street side for snacks/coffee and not to attract attention to multiple hand/carry bags.
I recently stayed at this hotel and was absolutely blown away by the stunning view from the top floor. It was truly breathtaking and made my stay all the more enjoyable. The breakfast selection of food was also fantastic - I was impressed by the variety and quality of the options available. However, the highlight of my stay was undoubtedly the outstanding infinity pool. It was the perfect place to relax and take in the beautiful surroundings. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious and unforgettable experience.
Clean and very well presented. Spacious and comfortable. Good view from the apartment of Sugar Loaf and the Guanabara bay entrance looking out to sea.
Well furnished with kitchen crockery, utensils, pots and pans and cutlery. Very pleasant apartment. Secure manned entrance to apartment block. Short walk to sea front and modern art museum. kiosks with view across to Rio de Janeiro or short walk to Icarai beach. nice area.
The location of the hotel is excellent, the breakfast was also really good. The staff is very friendly and always ready to help. The hotel plays with simplicity and practicality which I would say are their strengths: simple, easy to navigate, friendly, good food, good location, clean. So the hotel ticks all those boxes.
Icaraí is a good area and the building location is quite convenient. I also enjoyed the gym, pool and sauna (however, beware that, if you are looking for a proper sunbathing, it will be quite limited to a really narrow time gap, from 1pm to 2pm only, since that is the only time the sun really shines on the pool area).
Staff was very attentive an eager to help. The place was modest, the room was clean and the fridge and snacks were always replenished. Breakfast was OK, a lot of bread to choose from. Food offered was but very repetitive. We notice that is a common practice for most hotels at Rio and surrounding areas.
incredible location, they treated us so professionally when we had an issue with our flights, they were kind, fun, professional. the food was fantastic. little pricey but not overly pricy so just right. live music. just a paradise. just go to this hotel, one of the best in all of the area of Niterói
The staff were really accommodating and friendly. Breakfast in the morning was fresh and delicious. The view from our room was beautiful, a view of Rio, Niterói and several landmarks like Christ the redeemer and sugarloaf mountain. Absolutely breathtaking and a beautiful room too.
Thank you!
Location is near ferry terminal to Rio, but otherwise far away from services of Niteroi (Icarai area is better for services). Room was basic, but cleaning was very good. Fridge was good, but I missed water cooker for coffee/tea. Breakfast had a very good selection of hot and cold items
The staff is very receptive, both for the check-in and for breakfast. The common area is very rustic and may not be for everyone, but if you like painting, scuptures and a somewhat exotic space this hotel will be perfect. I did not use the pool areas.
Wonderful location in Icaraí. Grocery stores, shops, restaurants, I recommend Cavi, same street, 171, and also, walking distance to the beach.
We didn’t eat breakfast, but there was breakfast available in the other hotel next to the Petit Village.
Very cozy and clean. If fit me and my friends. We could cook our meals and the location is very good. The proprietary was very attentious and the receptionist of the building too. if I go back to Niterói, I’d come back there for sure!
