Although one can state that Teresópolis has already become a big city, it hosts one of the most impressive and fantastic Brazilian Nature Park, the Parque Nacional da Serra dos Órgãos - PARNASO , regarded as a paradise for those who are definitely fond of climbing, trekking and even a light ride into the park. Located only 100km far from Rio de Janeiro, the city can be fairly covered in a day-off from Rio, especially if you leave very early, in order to optimize and enjoy the ride the most. Teresópolis is always a very pleasant destiny while in Rio.

Teresópolis is a beautiful mountain town. It's quaint and something like a movie! I absolutely loved the market and the mall! Its a different vibe from Rio and such a place of relaxation and beauty!

The city is quite nice but it's the countryside around it...
The city is quite nice but it's the countryside around it that truly makes it. If you like hiking and views then it's great. We ate at Paraíso da Serra which was amazing with the best views and at Vila St Gallen which was a little bit of Switzerland in Brazil!

The rooms are very comfortable and have a pleasant view over the valley. Breakfast was delicious. And at first the staff seemed unhappy that my Portuguese wasn't great... but then they brought out a brilliant guy who was very happy to explain everything in English. Overall, the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beauty of Teresopolis.
