Very beautiful historic city, great restaurants all over the place. Wonderful base for hikes in the Diamantina Mountains. Book tours from local companies, without a car it is challenging to get to the trailheads; we used Diamantina Mountains as our operator and were completely satisfied !

Lençóis is a place worth getting to know. The city is safe and makes you feel like home. People are kind and will make an effort for an enjoyable stay. I was very lucky with the travel agency I picked: Nas Alturas. I highly reccomend it.

The surrounding national park is AMAZING.
The surrounding national park is AMAZING. We did a three day trek which I highly recommend. We booked this through Paulo from Chapada Trekking Cross and were guided by Marcelo Mogli. Both are locals with a lot of information to share and extremely helpful, and speak English. We also did a one day car-based tour which I also highly recommend. Our guide here was Diego 'Dodo' who speaks fluent English and is great value. Book LOCAL guides who are registered. They know the history, secrets and how to stay safe in Chapada better than anyone else. PS the food is pretty great in town!

I am Brazilian and I came to Lencois 25 years ago when I was 14ish but I couldn’t be more surprise to see how much appreciation I had this time around. This time I want to bring my american kids to see something different (we normally go to beach resort on our vacations). I was surprise to feel that 5 days wasn’t enough for us. It is so much beauty here. The city has a charm that make you want to stay and the excursions are amazing. The views looks like a scenery of a movie. Gorgeous!! The restaurants Didn’t disappoint ether. Every night we went to a little street that have many different restaurants and the food and drinks were so good. I love it here. My family and I will be coming back for sure.CarinaBrazil

It’s super isolated in nature but if you shop and wanna just stay in nature it’s cool. There is no pool - it’s a pond and unless you like the brown tea water of Lencois then you won’t spend time in the water. It’s not unhealthy but I’m used to clear water so it wasn’t really something we enjoyed. Again - if you’re ok with that it’s not bad - just not our style - we like clean water. The place is super cute tho!

They are incredible hosts that create an extremely personal and comfortable experience. They personally serve you breakfast and the incredible breakfast is different every single day. They are extremely flexible and understanding with any problems you might have. The rooms are comfortable, the AC machines are new, and our rooms were tidied up daily. I will definitely stay here again if I’m ever back in lençóis.

The facilities of the house are wonderful! I am in love with the roof terrace! There are two big beds - one up there by the roof top terrace. The kitchen has almost everything a regular home normally has. So you won’t lack for anything in that department. The host, Moises, is a wonderful person and a great host! So helpful and kind. The room and bathroom was spacious and had everything we needed with enough space to store our stuff. The pool and the whole pousada complex is beautiful. And it‘s really nice to take the breakfast in the garden. A highlight were the yoga classes with the wonderful Yoga teacher Maira. The next time we come to Lençois we will definitely stay at Vila Serrano again!
