We just returned from the most incredible vacation on a picturesque little island paradise. From start to finish, it exceeded all expectations thanks in large part due to its friendly inhabitants who made certain that every moment counted.

Caye Caulker is great.
Caye Caulker is great. Everyone we ran into was super friendly. I would not go there just for the beaches. There are only a few that are what one typically thinks of when they think of Caribbean beaches. The snorkeling was 100% worth the trip out there alone. The food we had was great -- ask your lodging, they can steer you to the right places (I would recommend Reina's, Errolyn's, Maggie's Sunset Grill, Ice and Beans). The owner of Ice and Beans remembers your order and name on the second day you stop by and is sooo nice. I would also recommend that you do not miss rooftop yoga at Namaste Cafe!. The Split can feel a little Cancun Spring Break 1990ish. But its easy to avoid. We rented bicycles at our cabanas and that made getting around the island so much easier! Highly recommend- fun and easier than a golf cart because the roads are a little bumpy.

One of the smaller Belizean island, CC has its own charm and its own pace -- go slow but keep moving is the motto. Food is excellent, dive opportunities everywhere, terrific snorkeling. Ah, but the Sand Flies!! Ouch! Make sure you have plenty of reef safe insect repellent and stay off the sand in the early morning and late afternoon when they come to feast on your legs and ankles. And remove your shoes before going back inside so you don't bring the little critters with you. I was pretty okay, but my manpanion looked like he had chicken pox and he was pretty miserable. Take care....but go slow!
Best lobster is to be found at Pelican Sunset on the west side of the island. Make a reservation in person around noon if you want a sunset table. Dinner is served all day, but you might want to avoid happy house as it's crazy crowded. The Art Cafe is great for brekkie and has a lot of vegan options as well as salads.Eat meat pies when you can find them. Use Marie's hot sauce, a locally produced product! Go to The Split and eat crab claws, lobster kabobs, and BBQ corn at Esther's roadside stand. Drink local beer. Also local rum is darned tasty.

Caye Caulker does not have a beachfront, there is a barrier wall around all the areas. The water is beautiful and we went to Iguana Reef Inn to enjoy a little beach. The roads here are not paved, they are sand or clay and there are a lot of potholes. Your shoes and feet will not stay clean. The major mode of transportation is bicycle or golf cart. The island was not what I expected, we started our vacation in Hopkins which we loved. Check out Coconut Row if you want fabulous service, lazing by a glorious pool and enjoying beach front. The food on Caye Caulker was good but repetitive, most places serve the same stuff. We ended up going to San Pedro one day and renting a golf cart out to Secret Beach, that was really nice. The beach is free and there are restaurants and bars that come to your seats to take your orders and serve you drinks and food. We snorkeled with Nauti Time which is right next to the water taxi. It was a great experience and we had a good time.

It is a beautiful island, less crowded than San Pedro.
It is a beautiful island, less crowded than San Pedro. There are a lot of activities to do. There are a lot of travelling companies, so prices are competitive. People are very nice, and the island is safe in the tourist area. Food is also very good and fresh. You need to be careful with the water taxis because they leave on time, so do not be late. They leave the island very early, so you can catch a lot of tours in Belize city. The only bad part is that the last water taxi to the island leaves at 5:30 pm. You can rent a golf cart to move around the island or rent a bike. There is also a small airport where you can take a tour to see the Great Blue hole.

The island has a peaceful feel to it.
The island has a peaceful feel to it. The people who live there were friendly and helpful. It felt like being invited into someone’s home.
I particularly liked dinner at the Barrier Reef restaurant. It was to the right as you left the water taxi.
You can walk from one side of the island to the other in less than half an hour east to west so the island is easily walkable and I am 67. I did it just to do it but don’t think I would do it again.
Also there is a medical facility and at least one dentist on the island..
location is perfect abd the pool,
it was not a five start hotel but nothing in caye Caulker really is except for maybe a hand full of high end places, our particular unit had an amazing ac and although it did not have a patio or view of the ocean it was very nice because our unit didn’t get the sun beating down on our room. which was nice for sleeping in. Elroy the security guard is super nice and is there all night long, we felt very safe, but honestly Caye Caulker is very safe
Absolutely adored our stay at Dream Cabanas. They agreed to an early check-in and a later check-out. The location is excellent, on a quiet street. The staff was very friendly and had a ton of recommendations for us. There is a gate, so you feel very safe, although Caye Caulker feels safe all-around. The common space is also so lovely, especially when all lit up at night. Such a lovely place to stay
The hotel looks very cool, you stay in looking like cabins. The rooms include air conditioning and fans. Everything is very clean. Hot shower all the time. The staff is cleaning up the room everyday. There's a pool outside that is available to use all the time. The staff was nice and welcoming. Location is central yet quite. It's not cheap but it's one of the cheapest in the island.
The hosts were most gracious, from calling taxis to offering the same-day laundry. The beds were comfy and plenty of hot water. The hotel was well-monitored and we felt safe. Perfect location in the middle of town. We made reservations for next time we visit Caye Caulker and look forward to our stay, knowing it will be safe and relaxing.
Staying at sea dreams was an excellent experience! The rooms were clean, the breakfast was delicious and the hotel atmosphere was a dream! But what really made the experience amazing was the staff!! They went above and beyond to make sure our stay at Caye Caulker was unforgettable and stress free. Thank you for everything!
This hotel was amazing. Just a beat off the busy path. We get hot when we sleep, this was the first time the air conditioning was so cold we had to turn it down. The area was quiet, the rooms were clean. We have a new favorite place to stay whenever we go to Caye Caulker (which we plan to do annually)
great place to stay in Caye Caulker. the staff/ owner were extremely nice and accommodating. the room was perfect, bed comfy, shower had hot water and there was air con. the location was beautiful and not too far away but far enough from the hustle and bustle of town. thanks
Great hotel a little away from the hustle and bustle.
Top quality fittings and furniture in the room.
Free bikes and water available. They arranged a great trip for us to Belize mainland to Xunantunich Mayan Ruins and cave tubing.
A wonderful and tranquil oasis just off the front street, with a beautiful tropical garden frequented by hummingbirds. Amanda was super-helpful and friendly. I would definitely return if I visit Caye Caulker again.
Wonderful cabanas, best place to stay on Caye Caulker! The owner was wonderful with many local recommendations of things to do. Awesome location with a great beachfront, kayaks and bikes available!
great view and had a nice dock to sit at with swings and enjoy the view. had a perfect location close to everything, but granted it is caye caulker which everything is close anyways
On the ocean, with pool and in close proximity to over 10 restaurants. The Salty Crab and pier was very convenient and a great place to gather. Loved the Caye Caulker island.
