The staff were amazing. They were very friendly and helpful. The location to the reef was great. We used on site kayaks to paddle out to the reef, it took about 20min, and then snorkeled around.

The location was perfect - walking distance from the little airport (not an issue) and all the restaurants in the area. The onsite restaurant/bar was great for drinks and sushi. And the dive shop onsite was also super convenient and helpful. The rooms were comfortable - especially the bed!

Great boutique resort and great location. The staff was very accommodating...they were very helpful with answering all of my questions before and during my stay. They picked me up and dropped me off at the airport. They gave me great recommendations for restaurants, entertainment, transportation, places to see while on the Caye. Overall, a great experience and I would definitely come back again.

Location was great - quiet and far enough from the noise and traffic of the city. Close to many restaurants within walking distance. We rented bikes from the retreat and biked to town and to Secret beach - both easily done on bicycles. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Roger Navarro was super helpful with booking activities for us. Rented kayak to do some extra snorkeling and spear fishing along the barrier reef, launching kayaks right off the beach from the retreat. Relaxing place to be!

We try to spend five full days in San Pedro annually.
We try to spend five full days in San Pedro annually. For the first three trips, we rented a Golf Cart to see the far ends of the island. Now, we choose to stay downtown and walk to everything. SP is very safe, but don't leave anything in your cart. Meals can be pricy if you eat "non-local" foods - in other words, by eating at the smaller, less advertised venues, delicious, local food is very cheap! You can have a large meal for two at Neri's Tacos for under $10 US!
El Fagon has the best ceviche we've ever had. It's a local restaurant with fairly low prices but get there before 6:30 PM unless you have reservations. The picture is of a Michelada served with a frozen beer. One appetizer of ceviche is a meal, so don't over-order!
Red Ginger, Elvi's Kitchen, and Cool Beans have exceptional food and service but are non-local and expensive.
The Palapa Bar is NOT WORTH IT! Embarrassingly, we've made the mistake of eating there twice - never again! The service is rude and surly. The food is very expensive and below-average. The entertainment is not good.
We've stayed at Ramon's—excellent location, average food, no booze, but pricey; Xanadu, which is not very convenient and expensive; and Tradewinds Paradise Villas, which is reasonably priced and has an exceptional location. We liked Tradewinds Paradise Villas the best. It is within walking distance of everything downtown, has a beautiful pool with shade, and has outstanding management.

San Pedro is a beautiful place. I come here once a year. The best thing about San Pedro is the locals. They make this beautiful place that much better. The food is absolutely amazing. When you think of food around the world Belize tends to not be on that list. IT SHOULD BE. The food is so amazing!

Roadside meals are affordable and delicious.
Roadside meals are affordable and delicious. Enjoy barbecued chicken, rice and beans, coleslaw! Had an amazing massage on the pier behind Xanadu(?) resort. Found a Brooklyn bagel place that was yummy! Get a place like Caribe Island #12 outside of town with privacy. Charter a boat and beach hop, snorkel, etc. Go cave tubing. Felt like our own private beach at our place that was heaven.

San Pedro was a busy little city on the island of Caye...
San Pedro was a busy little city on the island of Caye Ambergris. The beach featured restaurants, bars, hotels and resorts all along. There were many choices for restaurants, so we were able to try several different ones. Many of them featured fresh fish and seafood, barbecue, and tropical drinks. We mostly got around on foot--up and down the beach and along the town's streets, but rented a golf cart one day to go to Secret Beach a few miles away. Sidewalks are few, so you have to watch out for traffic, which is mostly golf carts, the favorite mode of transportation. The few vehicles were mostly mini-van taxis and a few pickups. We stayed in the central part of the town, so everything we needed was quite handy. Markets and bakeries were nearby. We had fresh papaya for breakfast nearly every morning! Next time we might stay in a little quieter part of town, say, at one of the beachfront resorts.

San Pedro is a bustling tourist town.
San Pedro is a bustling tourist town. The most common transportation on the streets is golf carts, many, many golf carts.
The Blue Water Grill was our favorite place to eat. We also enjoyed Lily's Treasure chest for a few meals.
It was great to stay here for a few nights for the dining and the activities - snorkeling excursions - but we are glad we also spent time on the mainland coast of Belize for a more laid back experience.
We really enjoyed our stay here! The other guests seemed to be mostly long-term renters with a smattering of vacationers like us. It felt like we got to be part of a little condo community for a week. The staff were all extremely polite, friendly, and helpful. The property is close to the San Pedro airport and you can easily walk down the beach to enjoy the views or one of the many beachfront bars & restaurants. It was quiet and felt very safe at all hours. We would definitely recommend, and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.
Lucinda and her team as well as the entire property are just awesome: so friendly, helping out with anything they can, everything set up with so much love - from the well-curated book with all kinds of information one might need as a guest, to the awesome jungle garden and nicely set up and spacious rooms.
A bit outside busy San Pedro downtown - which we perceived as a true bliss after having stayed there before moving over to Belize Budget Suites.
The location is convenient, less than 10 min walk from the airport, and central to everything you’d want to see and do in San Pedro.
I had 2 separate reservations (301 king room and 202 double room). The double room was cheaper, bigger, and better. Both rooms were clean and beds were comfortable.
Overall, the basic accommodations are no frills. But Chefy, the owner, goes above and beyond to make sure you enjoy your vacation.
Small quiet hotel, with lovely decoration and very nice garden, away from the busy main road trafic but not too far from down town restaurants and shops. We absolutely love our stay at Belize Budget suites. Very confortable and clean rooms. The personnel was very much helpfull and nice. We highly recommend this place in San Pedro. Renting a golf cart is a must to get around the island and is a kind of attraction by itself !
Cocotal Inn and Cabanas is a small hotel with pristine, beautiful, restful and tropical beachfront grounds. The staff members are friendly, helpful and take great care of guests. We had a wonderful two week stay. This lovely place is close to the restaurants and beach bars of North San Pedro and minutes away from the tourist areas.
The location of The Palapa house suited us very nicely. We are divers. It is located on the seafront across from one of the best dive centres in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye. Also, the busy part of town (including restaurants, the water taxi depot and the airport) is easy to access both on foot and by golf cart from this location.
Hello, I don't know where to begin... except that they are excellent. Justin and Martha are the best. So very helpful and genuinely nice. I would 100% recommend this boutique hotel. We met Jake and he is great and very friendly and very knowledgeable about Belize..
We are definitely coming back here again..
The little cabañas are immaculately clean, with a good decor. Breakfast is included and the circle of about 6 cabañas are right next to the coffee shop that provides breakfast. It’s in a quiet spot away from the main road and close to the water. And the place is away from the hustle of San Pedro’s downtown area.
Great location near the center of San Pedro. Easy walk to San Pedro Belize Express Water Taxi dock and close to air strip.
Steps from the beach. Suites are large with full kitchen and living room/dining room, working A/C for those extra hot days and free TV.
The property is very nice as well as the rooms, but the pool was closed, and they also were cleaning the water from the sea with pumps, it was terrible noisy, not good for vacation and rest. But they charged full prize, without considering the hotel situation
Lovely family home located central San Pedro only a 3 min walk from the port. Chefy the host was wonderful and easy to communicate with. Rooms were nice, very homely feel. Beach is on door step. They were also flexible with check in and check out.
Really great location in the heart of San Pedro. Everything you could want or need is a short walk away. Super friendly and helpful staff as well. We loved lounging in the hammock on the balcony after our days out. Suite was spacious and clean.
The manager of the hotel was amazing from prior to our trip all the way through. It’s really centrally located in San Pedro so a lot of things are a short walk & it’s easy to find from the ferry.
Amazing location right on the beach. Easy to walk to most locations in San Pedro. Easy to book excursions at hotel. Their snorkel and sunset cruise excursions on their sailboat were perfect!
Plenty of amenities great location all the staff was friendly and helpful. When I come back to San Pedro I’ll give Emanuel a call it’s a great spot to chill!
