We just returned from the most incredible vacation on a picturesque little island paradise. From start to finish, it exceeded all expectations thanks in large part due to its friendly inhabitants who made certain that every moment counted.

Caye Caulker is great.
Caye Caulker is great. Everyone we ran into was super friendly. I would not go there just for the beaches. There are only a few that are what one typically thinks of when they think of Caribbean beaches. The snorkeling was 100% worth the trip out there alone. The food we had was great -- ask your lodging, they can steer you to the right places (I would recommend Reina's, Errolyn's, Maggie's Sunset Grill, Ice and Beans). The owner of Ice and Beans remembers your order and name on the second day you stop by and is sooo nice. I would also recommend that you do not miss rooftop yoga at Namaste Cafe!. The Split can feel a little Cancun Spring Break 1990ish. But its easy to avoid. We rented bicycles at our cabanas and that made getting around the island so much easier! Highly recommend- fun and easier than a golf cart because the roads are a little bumpy.

One of the smaller Belizean island, CC has its own charm and its own pace -- go slow but keep moving is the motto. Food is excellent, dive opportunities everywhere, terrific snorkeling. Ah, but the Sand Flies!! Ouch! Make sure you have plenty of reef safe insect repellent and stay off the sand in the early morning and late afternoon when they come to feast on your legs and ankles. And remove your shoes before going back inside so you don't bring the little critters with you. I was pretty okay, but my manpanion looked like he had chicken pox and he was pretty miserable. Take care....but go slow!
Best lobster is to be found at Pelican Sunset on the west side of the island. Make a reservation in person around noon if you want a sunset table. Dinner is served all day, but you might want to avoid happy house as it's crazy crowded. The Art Cafe is great for brekkie and has a lot of vegan options as well as salads.Eat meat pies when you can find them. Use Marie's hot sauce, a locally produced product! Go to The Split and eat crab claws, lobster kabobs, and BBQ corn at Esther's roadside stand. Drink local beer. Also local rum is darned tasty.

Caye Caulker does not have a beachfront, there is a barrier wall around all the areas. The water is beautiful and we went to Iguana Reef Inn to enjoy a little beach. The roads here are not paved, they are sand or clay and there are a lot of potholes. Your shoes and feet will not stay clean. The major mode of transportation is bicycle or golf cart. The island was not what I expected, we started our vacation in Hopkins which we loved. Check out Coconut Row if you want fabulous service, lazing by a glorious pool and enjoying beach front. The food on Caye Caulker was good but repetitive, most places serve the same stuff. We ended up going to San Pedro one day and renting a golf cart out to Secret Beach, that was really nice. The beach is free and there are restaurants and bars that come to your seats to take your orders and serve you drinks and food. We snorkeled with Nauti Time which is right next to the water taxi. It was a great experience and we had a good time.

It is a beautiful island, less crowded than San Pedro.
It is a beautiful island, less crowded than San Pedro. There are a lot of activities to do. There are a lot of travelling companies, so prices are competitive. People are very nice, and the island is safe in the tourist area. Food is also very good and fresh. You need to be careful with the water taxis because they leave on time, so do not be late. They leave the island very early, so you can catch a lot of tours in Belize city. The only bad part is that the last water taxi to the island leaves at 5:30 pm. You can rent a golf cart to move around the island or rent a bike. There is also a small airport where you can take a tour to see the Great Blue hole.

The island has a peaceful feel to it.
The island has a peaceful feel to it. The people who live there were friendly and helpful. It felt like being invited into someone’s home.
I particularly liked dinner at the Barrier Reef restaurant. It was to the right as you left the water taxi.
You can walk from one side of the island to the other in less than half an hour east to west so the island is easily walkable and I am 67. I did it just to do it but don’t think I would do it again.
Also there is a medical facility and at least one dentist on the island..
Perfect location with a balcony view of the sea. Lovely room, well equipped with coffee maker, toaster, fridge and microwave! Had good AC, even a smart TV and 2 bikes if we needed. We really appreciated free drinking water and beach towels. Most importantly, Chila was an amazing host, she was so friendly, checked in on us if we needed and gave us local recommendations. We also had our room cleaned everyday.
Thank you for having us stay, we would love to stay here again if we came to Caye caulker! Very good price for the island.
The property is conveniently located near the front street of Caye Caulker and to all bars, restaurants, ferries and bike rentals. It has a quiet charm to it and the shaded front porch is clutch. The owner and staff are very friendly and welcoming as are the four dogs that live there.
Our breakfasts were delicious and hearty; and the huge bottle of filtered water on hand was much appreciated. What we loved was how peaceful it was, away from the loud music of the front street but steps away from amenities and shops.
It is a wonderful, safe, quiet, comfortable place close to everything you need in Caye Caulker. They have a communal kitchen with a large refrigerator and drinking water, free kayaks and bikes (helped exploring the island that was a joy). The owners dispensed a good advice on local tours, restaurants and location of the largest crocodile on the North side: I follwed and got good tours, memorable culinary experience with local seafood, and, of course, took nice pictures of the crocodile. Strongly recommended.
The hotel was beautifully renovated and we had an amazing view of the water. We enjoyed sitting out on the private deck to watch the sunrise in the morning and the room itself was very comfortable. Our hosts Giambattista and Valentina were so hospitable and kind. They greeted us with a Sicilian appetizer and homemade bread, such a thoughtful touch. You can tell they take great pride in their property and genuinely care about their guest's experience on Caye Caulker.
We loved it here! The property was beautiful, as were the rooms (we stayed in 2). The staff was helpful, friendly. It was nice having the pier and ocean so close, with access to the kayaks and paddle boards. The grounds were very well maintained. The rooms were so thoughtfully designed and decorated and some of the most comfortable beds we've slept in while traveling. Can't say enough good things and will only stay here when we go to caye caulker from now on.
Colinda cabanas was a great place to stay. Close enough to the ferry and the main area but away from the business and noisy streets. We had access to bikes and kayaks that were free of charge. Juan the manager was extremely friendly and helpful. He gave us a map and so many different recommendations. There was drinking water in the room and a fridge to keep it cold. They had coffee beans, a grinder, coffee maker and kettle. I’d highly recommend it.
Loved the yellow wooden houses. Situated right on the beach. Loved the chilled relaxed vibe. Close to all restaurants. Cute bar on the beach by the pool. Everyone very friendly. Henry who managed the place was extremely helpful and always ready to reach out for our needs even if it was around Belize. Henry is very knowledgeable for places to stay and transport needed around the country. Ask Henry and he knows all the answers.
We would like to thank Jan's Hotel for hospitality, attention and care (a special thank you to Sarah!). They recommended and helped us to book some tours before our arrival (the tours were excellent!), met us at the ferry terminal (and transported back), provided valuable recommendations and hints for staying in Caye Caulker. The room was comfortable, we enjoyed of our stay at Jan's Hotel. Thank you!
Sea Dream Hotel is located just a few steps from the water, the split and the best attractions that Caye Caulker offers! Stephanie, Kyra, Shasha and staff where excellent!! I went there on my honeymoon they made our stay feel very special, thank you guys!! Me & Bianca will be back soon!!
I strongly recommend this hotel!!
The bicycles provided by Colinda Cabanas was a great amenity! We loved cruising around the island on our bikes. The 5 gallons of water was also a wonderful amenity. More places should do that. The managers were wonderful about helping us organize reservations, tours and covid tests before returning to the USA.
we absolutely loved our stay here! the rooms were clean, spacious and we had AC! our room was cleaned. nearly everyday day with fresh towels. they provided us with bikes and kayaks which we used a lot and the location was amazing!! if I ever come back to Caye caulker I will definitely be staying here
Beautiful little room in Caye Caulker. Cost was similar to others in the area. Great location right off the main strip - close to everything but down a side street so much quieter at night. Very clean room, very helpful lady in reception and overall a lovely stay.
This was our first trip to Belize and Caye Caulker and our experience was awesome. Anytime we had questions or needed anything, Heydi, Jose, and Victor were always quick to respond and make our stay a special one.
Great new hotel. Clean and the rooms are huge. Probably the cheapest private rooms you'll get on Caye Caulker. The shop underneath is good value. Hot showers!
