Canmore has everything one needs for enjoyment and necessities. It is close to both Banff and Kananaskis Country for skiing, shopping, biking, hiking, lots of dining options, historical sites…and more. There is something for everyone! If you like being independent, opportunities for self-guided activities abound. If you want guided tours, there is everything from dog sledding to heli-tours, rafting to mountain biking…hiking to yoga. It’s the best value for the money spent! And the scenery is unbeatable.

Canmore is a great little town right in the heart of the rockies. It is very close to Banff, without the cost of staying right in Banff. It is close to many outdoor activities for both summer and winter. Both Lake Louise and Sunshine Village ski resorts are within an hour. There are lots of hiking opportunities with some even starting in town. We have enjoyed many of the local restaurants, and there is a lot of variety to please any palate. While it can sometimes get busy, it is easy to get around and easily walkable for most people.

It is a lovely town with world-class views of the rocky almost on your doorstep on both sides. It's not as busy or touristy as Banff and it has some wonderful shops. It has two supermarkets both offering a massive choice of goods, and plenty of restaurants. There is the Nordic Centre which is brilliant for hiking in summer and cross-country trails in winter. I could easily live there. The only downside is that it is expensive, as is Canada in general.

I'm not sure what there is to do in Canmore, been there may times and never once done anything worth remembering. I've heard there are caves and great hiking trails. Unfortunately nothing is well marked and haven't stumbled across them yet.

The condo had lots of room. The bedrooms and bathrooms were spacious. The kitchen had plenty of dishes and cookware to make any of our meals. There is a bbq right on the patio that we made use of. Everything was very clean and well taken care of. The beds were the most comfortable I have ever had in a condo/hotel. Check in/check out was fast and easy with very courteous staff. The outdoor heated pool and hot tub were a unique experience in the winter.

Reception staff are very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is spotlessly clean and nicely decorated/furnished. The best thing for us and one of the main reasons for booking was the pool/hot tub area - really lovely and spectacular views - a great place to unwind after a big day exploring! We loved Canmore itself and the hotel is in a great location for getting to the restaurants and shops. Also convenient for getting into the highway to Banff National Park.

very upset when I book the hotel the website show is pet friendly, and the front desk people sent me a message that is no additional charge, but I reviewed my bank statement today they have charge me CAD50 which is for a 2-night pet friendly room. this is not fair they confirmed is charged 1 night only CAD25 but now is CAD50.00 for 2 nights, how can I get back the un reasonable charge?

This is a quaint little hotel, older, and its location is phenomenal. Unlike the bigger chain hotels of Canmore, from the Drake Hotel you can easily walk to the downtown area and, even better, the wildlife walk, just minutes away. The beds were comfortable and they were very helpful at the restaurant when we wanted to borrow cutlery for our take-out. The view from the room was lovely.

Probably the best hostel I’ve ever stayed at. These folks clearly understand how to run a hostel. Staff was incredible, showers in the rooms (and outside options too), kitchen amazing. Overall, the $80 shared dorm room and hostel facilities were superior to the $450 hotel across the street. Fantastic place and I’ll be returning here next time I’m in Canmore.

Incredible location in the heart of Canmore, along a river! Excellent customer service, making sure we had all of the information about the town and learning about the restaurant/bar right next door. Their hot wings were the best I've ever had. It was the cheapest hotel we could find in Canmore, standard motel rooms but clean and comfy. Our kids enjoyed the playground and hot tub, which we had to ourselves both times we used it. There's even a great view of the mountains from our window in the morning.
