Breakfast was good. Nice to have a hot breakfast option
We had a nice visit! Although the parking is a little weird at the hotel, but we were fine. Also since our visit was during Summer, the AC was not enough for the whole place. However, we were gone most of the day, so we survived! We will definitely come back at Sleeping giant BNB for accommodation. Kalabeka Falls and Fort William Historical Park are a few of our favorites! Also the Thunder Bay Lookout at Sleeping Giant Natl Park. :) Mount McKay is also a nice place yo visit! :)

Thunder Bay is close to Sleeping Giant Provincial Park—about an hour’s drive—which is a phenomenal place for hiking at all levels. It’s an easy trip back and forth, and the primary reason I visited Thunder Bay (there are no hotels near the park). I didn’t explore the city-proper very much. It’s easy to drive around. Also seems to have a robust bus system that no one uses! There’s a downtown area with many restaurants and bars, but it wasn’t very busy, even on a weekend night. Best place I ate was a Thai restaurant, Thai Kitchen (11 Cumberland Street), which was excellent.

There aren’t enough hotels and the ones they have that are good book up quickly. The ones left aren’t worth staying in, but it’s too late to get to another town once you realize it. Plan ahead and book early is my advice.

My reason for staying there was STRICTLY medical, not pleasure. I travelled over two thousand miles to get the medical help I needed, because of the FAILURE of the CORPORATE medical mafia (YES, the medical system is the upgraded mafia system) establishment wants to TREAT people but NEVER CURE people as there is no money in "curing" people. They are the LEGAL DRUG DEALERS WITH LICENSE, WITH HORRIFIC SIDE EFFECTS OF THEIR DRUGS. I KNOW, I AM ONE OF THE VICTIMS OF THEIR GREED. For the medical reason, hot tub was a crucial part of my trip and you ALSO failed to tell me that the hot tub was there for the show not for the go. For the proper health benefit, hot tub AND swimming pool go hand in hand! THIS IS FUNDAMENTAL HEALTH CARE!

We went for a family wedding, but should have went earlier to see the sights. We stayed at the Harbour Front and it was gorgeous. Beautiful weather, Lake Superior ! But like every where else, short staffed. Stayed at Delta Marriot, brand new hotel, but restaurant closed for breakfast as no staff. No bar. No snack counter. Starbucks closed at 11am on Saturday and Sunday !!!!! the young people working there were very helpful.

The review of the travel lodge.....
The review of the travel lodge.....The breakfast which was included did not even have a place to sit. The pancake maker was out of order also the personnel was dirty on their clothing this is anadd on to what my wife wrote. I would never recommend that travel lodge to anyone. Gilles Morais
The location was on the shore of Lake Superior and our room had a beautiful view of the yacht club, lake and islands.
The waterfront has been very nicely developed and there are many restaurants and other attractions within close walking distance of the hotel. As it was incredibly hot outside during our stay, it was nice to have the option of parking underground, although the parking is quite limited there. Request underground parking in advance if you think it is something you would like. The fitness facility is very well equipped.
This hotel is accessible to the Trans Canada Highway. Restaurants and gas stations are located close by. Staff were friendly and helpful. The provided breakfast was compatible with that given at most hotels during COVID time....a paper bag into which you could put whatever you desired (yogurt, hard-boiled egg, muffin, juice box), with no limit imposed. Coffee and tea were also provided.
The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The decor was fairly up to date. We had a good night’s sleep after a very long day of driving.
My only suggestion is to have the breakfast available at 6 am as we needed to get on the road very early - and waiting for breakfast at 7 wasn't possible. So...we never got to enjoy the breakfast and this was clearly part of the price of the room.
Loved the boutique style rooms - and the location - especially for the dog. I liked there were stairs so I didn't have to take the dog on an elevator. I liked that it was different than most hotels.
Love the vibe, staff & cleanliness! It's like staying with a cool family of like minded people! Going back in 2 weeks on our way home. Only place we have booked twice for our trip from Southern Ontario to Nanaimo & back. Loved reading all the comments on the walls from past guests, too :)!
(Didn't get a pic of our bathroom, which was very cool, but took a pic of the main floor shared bathroom off the living area).
Can't wait to come back!!😀
This hotel is very nice, I like the character of old buildings. Staff was very welcoming and friendly. The view was fantastic! The suite we stayed in had a jacuzzi tub and it was everything I had hoped for. Very clean. They also have security guards patrolling the parking lot and main areas of the hotel which is appreciated. I had gotten an amazing deal on the room online and was not disappointed.
The hotel was hosting evacuees from Deer Lake, Ontario due to the wild fires. They offered us an upgraded room which was a lovely surprise. This hotel had a great reputation many years ago and I was concerned that it had gone down hill over time....I was pleasantly surprised that it was just as nice as I had hoped.
Such a nice place with such nice people!
Aesthetics make you enjoy every minute of it
and stuff makes you feel safe.
I think booking doesn’t mention but
you do have a small but lovely breakfast there.
It was simply enjoyable and
I had the best experience I could even imagine
in The Haven Hostel, Thunder Bay!
The only good thing about this hotel was the staff, when I went back up to the front desk she was understanding and helpful when I let her know that my room was awful and I couldn't stay there for the safety of myself and daughter. She immediately refunded me and apologized.
the staff was great but property is older. could use some updates. The hotel entrance could be better. I’m not from area passing through at first hard to see turn for entrance—maybe could paint entrance better? liked had a back door u could park your car and unload bags.
Location was good, close to some restaurants, gas, supplies etc. The property and the hotel itself was nice. The employee who served us at the front desk was very friendly and efficient
it was the perfect hotel for us. we loved the room, pool and breakfast area and the fact that we had access to hot water for tea and coffee all the time was amazing.
