Prince Arthur Waterfront Hotel & Suites, hotel in Thunder Bay

This Harbourfront hotel, built in 1911, features on-site dining, an indoor heated pool and guest rooms with free WiFi.

I liked that the building was over 100 years old and didnt smell old and musty. I love that some of the hotel’s original features are still there, doors with brass knobs, the stair case etc. I stayed on the 5th floor and it was like stepping back in time when you got off the elevator, kinda cool. The staff were friendly , my room was clean and the view from my window of the sleeping giant was awesome. P.S, love that you can watch the trains roll through, honestly.

Breakfast was good. The pancake maker wasn't working and the person who was 'filling up' the food went promptly to tell someone else and he came and took the machine apart. The check in staff were very friendly. When we arrived, we asked if there was a unit with a microwave and he apologized as they were upgrading the units and the one assigned to us didn't have one. The building was kept very neat and clean; people emptying the garbage cans..... Tim Horton's nearby so that we could grab a bite to eat for dinner. Excellent stay.

    We had a nice visit!

We had a nice visit! Although the parking is a little weird at the hotel, but we were fine. Also since our visit was during Summer, the AC was not enough for the whole place. However, we were gone most of the day, so we survived! We will definitely come back at Sleeping giant BNB for accommodation. Kalabeka Falls and Fort William Historical Park are a few of our favorites! Also the Thunder Bay Lookout at Sleeping Giant Natl Park. :) Mount McKay is also a nice place yo visit! :)

Thunder Bay is close to Sleeping Giant Provincial Park—about an hour’s drive—which is a phenomenal place for hiking at all levels. It’s an easy trip back and forth, and the primary reason I visited Thunder Bay (there are no hotels near the park). I didn’t explore the city-proper very much. It’s easy to drive around. Also seems to have a robust bus system that no one uses! There’s a downtown area with many restaurants and bars, but it wasn’t very busy, even on a weekend night. Best place I ate was a Thai restaurant, Thai Kitchen (11 Cumberland Street), which was excellent.

There aren’t enough hotels and the ones they have that are good book up quickly. The ones left aren’t worth staying in, but it’s too late to get to another town once you realize it. Plan ahead and book early is my advice.

My reason for staying there was STRICTLY medical, not pleasure. I travelled over two thousand miles to get the medical help I needed, because of the FAILURE of the CORPORATE medical mafia (YES, the medical system is the upgraded mafia system) establishment wants to TREAT people but NEVER CURE people as there is no money in "curing" people. They are the LEGAL DRUG DEALERS WITH LICENSE, WITH HORRIFIC SIDE EFFECTS OF THEIR DRUGS. I KNOW, I AM ONE OF THE VICTIMS OF THEIR GREED. For the medical reason, hot tub was a crucial part of my trip and you ALSO failed to tell me that the hot tub was there for the show not for the go. For the proper health benefit, hot tub AND swimming pool go hand in hand! THIS IS FUNDAMENTAL HEALTH CARE!

We went for a family wedding, but should have went earlier to see the sights. We stayed at the Harbour Front and it was gorgeous. Beautiful weather, Lake Superior ! But like every where else, short staffed. Stayed at Delta Marriot, brand new hotel, but restaurant closed for breakfast as no staff. No bar. No snack counter. Starbucks closed at 11am on Saturday and Sunday !!!!! the young people working there were very helpful.

We’ve stayed here several times. Everything is easy about this hotel - it’s location is perfect for anyone driving through on the Trans-Canada. the neighbourhood around the hotel is quiet, low traffic, accessibility is great. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the staff are friendly and helpful. When we arrived, we were served by Tina. There were a lot of guests arriving at the same time, but she had everything under control, including coaching other staff who seemed to be less experienced.

My only suggestion is to have the breakfast available at 6 am as we needed to get on the road very early - and waiting for breakfast at 7 wasn't possible. So...we never got to enjoy the breakfast and this was clearly part of the price of the room. Loved the boutique style rooms - and the location - especially for the dog. I liked there were stairs so I didn't have to take the dog on an elevator. I liked that it was different than most hotels.

Good amount of shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower. Locked in big bottles instead of tiny one time use bottles that some hotels have that aren't enough. Hotel is located in decently quiet location. Aren't a lot of traffic in Thunder Bay. Almost no traffic at night. Interior looked nice. Two queen beds room is the lowest price option instead of one king or queen bed room like in some big cities. Bigger room size for a good value.

Such a nice place with such nice people! Aesthetics make you enjoy every minute of it and stuff makes you feel safe. I think booking doesn’t mention but you do have a small but lovely breakfast there. It was simply enjoyable and I had the best experience I could even imagine in The Haven Hostel, Thunder Bay!

Unfortunately, there was a big snowstorm on March 25 and 26, which did not allow us to travel by car from Winnipeg to Thunder Bay. The manager at the hotel decided NOT to refund us any money for this natural danger that occurred. We will definitely seek other accommodations the next time we travel to Thunder Bay.

Nothing wrong with the hotel or staff. Breakfast could have been better for those who can't eat gluten. Biggest issue was the fights with the cops having to arrest someone. It was obvious that the hotel allows the locals to rent rooms to party

Not much can be said - Best Western has their corporate standards, and the hotels are very much alike, so you pretty well know what you get. They are not fancy, but the basics are there. Basically, you get what you pay for.
