Valparaiso is a vibrant colorful mountainous coastal town which we really enjoyed. There were several hillside dining options with fantastic views of the port town. Color murals painted on the buildings and walkways throughout town were fantastic, and added to the overall vibe of the city.

Cool city with an artistic vibe, lots of street art, young and older music artists etc.
Had a guided tour around and would recommend that to get a full view of the old-part of the city.
Also check out the live-music scene, had a great experience going out to their live-music bars/ open mic gig and it was high level.
I did not experience any bad, but they say don’t go alone home at night, it can be a problem with theft.

Not much to see, just quite a lot of beatiful grafiti, some vintage "ascensors". Beaches are quite far away.
But the city itself is downright filthy and not very safe. Many locals told us. Some MF took my girlfriend's cell phone and ran away. I chased him and got the phone back, but when I caught him he reached under the t-shirt probably holding a gun. I only had a knife so I gave up my vengeance. Be very careful even during the day!

Valparaíso is a beautiful place with very nice streets with loads of art. It’s has also nice beaches quite close. If you enjoy being on a beach a few days, it’s a good place for a few days more. If you don’t like to spend days at the beach, 2 days are enough, in my opinion.
The Restaurant „la casa verde“ was my favorite restaurant. The food and the pisco sour have been very delicious and the staff was very kind.

Filthy, dirty and smelly port town and not at all what I had imagined and hoped for. New Year's Eve there was special with the concert and fireworks but apart from that , there's nothing there. The streets stunk of urine and that was even before NYE ! It was truly an awful experience.
We loved this eclectic, very comfortable, sustainably focused and wine centric boutique hotel bcz it was off the beaten track in a quiet safe residential neighbourhood. It offered great panoramic views of the city and coastline from both your room and rooftop lounge/bar/breakfast room. Simple walking distances to restaurants, the downtown core, and museums/exhibits like Neruda’s home! Best of all… Sofia and her staff provided true comfort and always went out of their way to help if needed!
Location was amazing, right in the middle of everything but on a quiet and safe street. The room itself was spacious, clean and nicely decorated. Breakfast was delicious. The host was super friendly and gave me a lot of great recommendations for places to eat/shop/walk as a solo traveler. She was also really responsive and accommodating to my changing arrival time due to flight delays. Would 100% recommend this place to anyone visiting Valparaiso!! Excited to come back next year
The location was terrific and ideal. In fact, our city tour came by the Manoir Atkinson hotel as it contains a popular mural on the side wall. Marcello and Gloria could not have been more accommodating and friendly to make our stay pleasant. The breakfast was amazing with everything home made including bread and jam! Our room view was incredible overlooking the homes on the hilltops of Valparaiso. Would not hesitate to stay there again. Thanks Marcello and Gloria.
This is a beautiful hotel in a fantastic location. The room was clean and comfortable and we upgraded to room 6 which had a stunning view of the bay. The folks working at the hotel were so kind and helpful. They helped to arrange an early breakfast (which was great!) to accommodate our departure and also helped arrange private transport to the airport which alleviated some stress for us. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!
It's clear that the owners invested considerable time and money creating a hotel out of shipping containers. It worked very well. We liked the interior.
The lady who greeted us and showed us our room was friendly and was able to answer all our questions.
The view from the front deck of the city and port is good, though it must be remembered that Valparaíso is a port city, so the views are nothing to write home about.
Rene the owner and his wife were lovely. Property has some new outdoor space. Sadly we didn’t have time to enjoy it as we only had a short stay. Great breakfast and chats with Rene each morning. Happy to make dietary adjustments. Lots of helpful advice for Valparaiso and Chile more generally!
Boutique hotel located in the historical centre of Valparaiso. Close to many good restaurants. Room was large and bed comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. And breakfast was delicious! (pancake with milk caramel, scrambled eggs sandwitch etc)
Fernando and Christopher at the front desk were extremely friendly and helpful. Fernando provided all the insights of what to do and see in Valparaiso. Comfortable bed and pillows. Hotel in a nice location of Cerro Alegre.
beautiful house with the most amazing views from the terrace. fantastic breakfast - one of the best we've had in Chile! highly recommend the house and in a great location. Pascal was a wonderful host.
The hosts. They were amazing. The breakfast was delicious. I highly recommend staying at this place. The rooms.are clean. You will be able to see Valparaiso from.the balcony. I will come back.
Very, very helpful and charming! This is a really nice way to visit Chile. More like a family stay than a hotel, or a backpacker hostel. Walking distance everywhere when you know Valparaiso.
This is an awesome hotel. The room (Room 6) fantastic, the service fantastic, and the breakfast was excellent. It is in a very interesting area of Valparaiso too. Great experience!
The location of the hotel was very nice! My room had a balcony with a great view over Valparaíso! The house has a lot of Charme and the staff was very friendly and supportive.
The people were amazing - the two german volunteers were super friendly and helpful, the manager and the Chileno volunteer helped me out of a tight spot, theyre all excellent.
Great location, close to main street in Valparaiso in a very safe area. The owner and staff were attentive and helpful. Strong wifi signal throughout the hotel.
Location for walkability excellent. We had sea view rooms with amazing views of the harbour. Charming old hotel with excellent breakfast. Friendly staff.
