Charming hotel with a nice bedroom. We couldn't have breakfast because we had really early excursions planned, but they ensured that we got a really nice picnic instead.

We only spend one night at Hostal Puerta Roja but were very happy with our stay. The room is very modern, the bed super comfy and the shower is a bliss. The hosts Antonio & his wife are super friendly and even helped us print our ferry tickets - much appreciated! We were also able to leave our luggage at the house after check out and use the common areas before continuing our travel, which was great. Thanks for everything!

All staff made us feel welcome, helped us in any way we needed them at the front desk.
Came back each day to the cleaner been with clean beds, towels and personal touch with the kids teddy's on the bed.
Breakfast was amazing with so much to choose from and all the restaurant staff were exceptionally helpful.
Always someone around the could speak English if needed help with translating the language.

The hotel was quite interesting. It's an gorgeous, older building (though it seems to have been remodeled and kept up well). In a nearby restaurant, we saw a painting of the hotel from an earlier time. The staff at the hotel were very helpful in pointing us to a shop that could help us with a phone problem. I wish we had stayed more than one night, as there were other things we would have done in the area (like see condors).
With elegant European-style interiors, this hotel features a classic décor and modern amenities in downtown Punta Arenas, one block from Magallanes Museum.

Very nice hotel. Room was good, clean and spacious. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Central location just up the road from town square and short walks to local sights. Easy for taxis and tour pick ups to find. Highly recommend. Would stay there again.

Old world charm. Most staff were helpful. Senior Claudio was exceptional. His bilingual skills were of great help to us.
As our tour was leaving early, they gave us a packed breakfast.

It really is only a place to go to other better places in Patagonia. The restaurant scene is not great and there’s really not much to do there. I’d say use it as a place to stay overnight to go somewhere else but if you do don’t expect to find any great options for food or entertainment.

A great (very windy) city at the end of the world.
A great (very windy) city at the end of the world. Close to breathtaking scenery (Tierra del Fuego, Torres del Paine) and historical sites. The city felt secure. The fish market offers amazing good value dishes (no vegan options:(). There are good walks close to the city (a national park 15 minutes by car). Punta Arenas is easy to navigate on foot if the weather permits - the wind can bowl you over!!!

Punta Arenas is a nice town.
Punta Arenas is a nice town. But don't expect too much of it. It has really fantastic, great coffee places. And very good restaurants, actually it is amazing that there are so many nice restaurants and so many great coffee shops in such a small town. Apart from that, it is a small town. Don't get me wrong: it is the *town* to be if you want to be at the Strait of Magellans!

Punta Arenas had more to do than I expected!
Punta Arenas had more to do than I expected! I had heard from others that it was a sleepy residential town, but we enjoyed walking along Playa Colon, walking up to Mirador Cerro de la Cruz, shopping for handmade gifts at the Municipal Artesanal Market, petting the community dogs at the Plaza de Armas, touring Cerveceria Austral (reservations needed in advance), going on one of the penguin and sea lion tours, and eating authentic classic Chilean food at La Marmita restaurant. If we had more time, we would've visited some of the nearby museums to learn more about Magellan's sail through the strait. We loved that Ubers were quick and plentiful but that the town was very walkable just about anywhere.

The center of town is quite a distance from the airport.
The center of town is quite a distance from the airport. Punta Arenas is good for a jumping off point to explore Patagonia. For birders, there is a great e-Bird hot spot just out of town towards the airport.

It is an amazing place to visit.
It is an amazing place to visit. There are so many things to do, especially if you compare it with the homologous city in Argentina, Ushuaia. I was from Sunday to Friday, and it was not enough to do more trekkings, namely the Glaciar or around the Strait of Magallanes. I highly recommend staying in Punta Arenas for around two weeks and programme as many trips as possible before. I was not able to do the trip to Puerto Williams, because it required 30 hours on a ship. There are only ideas in my opinion.
Carmen was extremely welcoming and friendly! The rooms and beds were very clean, and the laundry service was always on time. She went above and beyond for us. We got a parking ticket, and she marched down to the police station with us, bargained the price down, then showed us how to pay it. She then let us park at her house so we didn't have to use the street. We also got to share a meal with her and her family on Christmas, which for travelers new to Chile, was an incredibly educational experience.
The hotel is amazing and very comfy. Located approximately 7min walk to the city center - uber and taxi are available 24/7.
Breakfast was amazing and there was tea available 24/7.
The staff is very good, specially Juanita and Marisol that were very polite and helpful.
The bedroom is really good, very clean. The shower is good and hot, beds are large and comfy. You can also enjoy the hotel common areas in the rooftop or near the fireplace.
I recommend it and hope to go back another time.
Pedro and his wife were fantastic hosts. His home was cozy and nice, and they prepared a wonderful meal for us in the morning. Pedro was able to recommend us many beautiful places to visit. On our last day, I had a last-minute exam scheduled and Pedro was extremely kind enough to allow me to take my exam in his living room while waiting for our flight. He was very kind, and very accommodating and I will recommend anyone visiting Punta Arenas to stay with Pedro and his beautiful family!
We were in 810 and 811 on the top floor with ocean views. The windows were small, but they told us that would be the case. The room was large and well equipped with a small sitting area. Staff were all very helpful and all front desk staff spoke English. They were also knowledgeable about the COVID requirements for guests leaving Chile and did print out our documents and negative tests. The breakfast was plentiful. Room service was quick, affordable and tasty.
The room was very nice - bathroom was clean, and it was great to have the kitchenette and sitting area as a place to relax. The hotel is centrally located, close to the bus terminal, groceries, and restaurants. The breakfast was delicious and the host was able to arrange for a taxi to the airport. Highly recommend
Each staff member bent over backwards to make us comfortable and content. This may be in the nature of the people of Chile, but it certainly impressed all of us. Great Staff. Everlyn; Andrea. We were pleased. We enjoyed the provisions for us to make our own breakfast, including some snacks. A great idea!
Hostal Botique Patagonia Mistica is a great stay for everyone who is setting off to explore Chilean Patagonia. Its location is convenient, the staff is very friendly and they were even kind enough to prepare us a packed breakfast very early in the morning because we had to leave for organised trips.
The Location is bit far away from Centre, but it doesn’t matter since Punta Arenas is not a Big city. You have a Market right in front of Hostel and it opens till eleven P.M also Mirador located on hill can be Access in Ten minutes of Walk. staff is really good and he can speak English.
Very nice accommodation, the rooms are very nicely decorated as well as the common area where breakfast is served in the morning. The staff is simply great, they helped us with all our questions and with arranging our excursions around Punta Arenas. Much appreciated!
A very comfortable homestay in a local chilean home, with comfortable beds and a good breakfast. There is a little mezzanine with tea and coffee making facilities, microwave and a sofa which is very useful and nice. The family is very helpful and nice and discreet.
Very nice hosts. Room is quiet and clean and has 2 separate bedrooms along with a full kitchen. They informally reserve a parking space on the street with an orange cone. Good value for spending a quick night in Punta Arenas on the way someplace else.
Good location. Safe area and easy walking to waterfront and downtown. Super sweet lady who runs/owns hostel. Gave us a great recommendation nearby for dinner. Son provided a car shuttle to airport which was convenient (not free).
Cozy hotel with small, though tasty breakfast. A friendly staff helped us with the main attractions in Punta Arenas. As we came late at night, and spent just one night there, we haven’t explored the neighborhood.
Beautiful hotel in one of Punta Arenas historic palaces in the town centre. The room had recently been refurbished, was very comfortable and tastefully decorated.
Staff was helpful. Food was good.

Best breakfast from all the hotels I stayed in Puerto Natales / Punta Arenas. A lot of options.
Very luxurious type of place. Bath tub on the bathroom. Good views from the windows.
Cute boutique hotel that's very centrally located in a great part of town, with a kitchenette/fridge, comfy bed and nice shower. It was great getting a light breakfast each morning.
