Hare Nua Hotel Boutique, hotel in Hanga Roa

Located in the remote Easter Island, Hare Nua Hotel Boutique offers accommodations in Hanga Roa. Guests can enjoy the on-site bar, hot tub, and included organic breakfast. Free WiFi available.

This property was beautiful, the staff were very friendly, helpful, and welcoming. They helped us understand the process of entering Rapa Nui, as Americans. The breakfast was delicious. The private tours they offered were outstanding and the guides were amazing - knowledgeable and warm. Everything important to us was within walking distance - Anakena Beach, plenty of restaurants, the cemetery, the church, etc. It felt like home away from home.

Hotel Taura'a, hotel in Hanga Roa

Located a 5-minute walk from the city center, Hotel Taura'a offers a garden and a terrace. Different breakfast options are available.

The best thing about the Taura'a is the location in the center of Hanga Roa close to restaurants, markets, the National Park visitor center, ocean-front swimming locations, and walking distance (about 1 mile each way) to Ahu Tahai. Airport transfers were included (as with most other places in Hanga Roa.) Toilets can be flushed which is not always the case on the island. I chose this place because of good reviews and because I wanted to stay at a smaller, more personal place that might be typical of the island. Unfortunately, it didn't suit me very well. Restaurants I liked: If you are vegetarian or just don't care for ceviche, I recommend Neptune's Island on the waterfront. Friendly people, nice music, shade from the sun, yummy menu with many food options. If you want to see the sunset at Ahu Tahai, it's roughly a one mile walk along the coast to Te Moai Sunset. Also a nice place but more limited menu. When you get to the stone wall, there are gates.

There are many great restaurants, especially if you like the fish food! Those moais are magical and sunrise tour is must! Some things are very expensive there in Easter Island, example renting a bike is 25€/24h ! I understand that some things in so isolated place is more expensive, but I think they have cartel in some business. Maybe they all don't understand that even they want to avoid the competition with each other, they will still have that competition with other vacation places. If people think it's too expensive, they go somewhere else.

You need to have interest in the history of the island.

You need to have interest in the history of the island. Showing up for a "resort style vacation" would be the wrong reason to go. We did a lot of homework and it was almost emotional to be there, especially after the island was run into the ground by greed.... You do need a guide to enter the parks. Sunscreen and water is your friend. You can stamp your passport, but not open on weekends.

I read on the internet:- 1. You could buy your ticket (USD80) for the National park at the airport. This is no longer the case. You have to buy your entry ticket in town. 2. Also, you could get your passport stamped with an Easter Island stamp at the post office. This is no longer the case. Go to the tourist information in town (sea front).

Unique island - fascinating history AND current culture. We easily spent 22 nights. Not nearly as expensive as on-liine chats imply. We bought fresh and unknown-to-us vegetables and fruit in the market, so ate very well. Saved our pennies to go out for Pisco Sours! Did lots of walking, went on 2 horse back trips, and rented scooters on 2 days.

Rapa Nui is like this dream destination: an island in the middle of nowhere with an extremely interesting history and culture. The island has amazing nature and plenty of sites to visit. A long weekend is ok to see the highlights of the island, but if you want to include water sports then a bit more time has to be added to the trip.

From sunrise at Ahu Tongariki to sunset at Ahu Tahai the island does not disappoint. Having the requirement of a guide was a great way to understand the various sites and history behind the island. Historically Rapa Nui will have your mind going at all times in a good way. Fresh ceviche is available everywhere, and the town is easy to navigate and walk around and just enjoy the sun and breeze. Renting a 4-wheeler and driving around the island was a great experience.

The location was amazing. 15mins walk to the "center" I had Moais right in front of my deck that I would watch during the sunset. You see the tourist come in for it, meanwhile I sat back, drinking a beer and enjoying the ocean front view. The host were great, from communication to pickup. I speak Spanish also. The cabin was beautiful with everything that you could need. Even though I was a solo traveler, you can easily sleep 6-8+. The whole experience made my stay in easter island and I unforgettable one. Thank you

The hotel grounds are like something out of a story book. Seriously the grounds are just magical. The painstaking attention to detail in absolutely every aspect of the landscaping and construction is abundantly obvious and goes a long way to transport you to a beautiful island retreat. This place was obviously meticulously built over a long period of time and is kept up so well. The owner clearly takes immense pride in his hotel - as he should. It’s seriously a work of art. We absolutely loved our stay.

The place was clean and comfortable. Excellent location. Restaurants, shops, supermarkets and cafes are only a minute away by foot. Pathy, the hostess, was awesome. She was a big help for information about Rapa Nui. Free transport to and from the airport, which is 3 minutes away by car. You can walk to the waterfront in about 8 minutes. Tour agencies, Internet cafe, and other services are located on the same street (the main street) as the lodge. Kahina Lodge... highly recommended.

Hotel Tupa was great ! It’s not a fancy 5 star resort, just a nice family ? Run hotel . Great location , ocean view from most rooms, a little rough around the edges, but just what we were looking for. Rooms are comfortable, breakfast was good ( meat cheese fruit cereal toast juice) what more do you need. We took 2 tours through the hotel, both were fantastic, good knowledgeable drivers/ guides reasonable prices learned so much. A little on going renovations making it even better.

The hotel is extremely well located, next to monuments that can be visited without a guide and a 10-minute walk to the town's city centre. Facilities are very clean and service is wonderful, with fresh breakfast being brought to your room. A special thank you to the staff that is very attentive and helped us long before the booking and throughout our stay with great dedication. Absolutely great accommodation! Everything is so clean and all works great. Even there was a feeling that my house is in the jungle, there was NOT even one bugs, gecko or anything during 6 days. Very peaceful, lovely atmosphere and staff really take care of you. Good location near the good restaurants and moai sunset place. Even the Easter Island is quite expensive in everything, this place is not. It’s great value for your money.

Lovely location in a luscious garden surrounded by flowers and plants. Big bed, nice bathroom, comfy chairs on the porch and a helpful drying rack for clothes. The host Ximena and her son were outstanding - they met us from the airport with flower necklaces, nothing was too much trouble for them and they were always available for questions either in person or on WhatsApp. Easter island itself is amazing too - we loved it.
